Chapter 834 - Chapter 789: Art of the Clone

The Hall of Justice had already restored power, Batman had a plan, a group of nuclear reactors buried deep beneath the hall was enough to supply the energy needs of the Hall of Justice.

But seeing Star Hero and Deathstroke appear simultaneously, Bruce still felt a moment of darkness in front of him.

These are tricky problems to solve.

As Bruce pondered how to inquire about Star Hero, Deathstroke behind him stepped forward first: "Batman, settle the account first."

"I've prepared it for you," Batman replied calmly, looking straight ahead, "Someone will contact you."

Deathstroke shook his head, raising a finger and waving it between the two: "That was the previous account, I'm talking about the account just now."

Batman's mouth curled: "I don't owe you anything."

"No, your patient just woke up in a bad mood, seemed intent on killing a few people to unwind, I just used the Giant Sword to clear his mind, you can see he's normal now."

Deathstroke turned sideways, signaling to Star Hero to speak, while facing Bruce's inquiries, the weary-looking Star Hero only gave a bitter smile.

"Sorry."

This showed that Deathstroke's words weren't wrong, regardless of the reason, the awakened Star Hero possibly had special energy in the brain out of control.

If without Deathstroke's Nightfall Greatsword, not only could the Hall of Justice have been damaged, there might have been casualties.

Batman nodded without hesitation: "Name your price."

Deathstroke leaned against the door, waving a hand to Megan, who happily raised her hand and wiggled her fingers in response, though seeing Batman being pressed for payment, she was unsure if now was appropriate to smile.

"We'll talk about the previous account later, this time I only want gold, or jewelry." Deathstroke nodded to Megan, then his gaze fell on the Bat, the red eye on the mask flashing bright.

"Changing the settlement method, you lack confidence in yourself anymore." Batman said coldly.

Deathstroke shook his head, walked towards Batman, and leaned against the computer host: "It's not a lack of confidence in myself, but a lack of confidence in the bank, in this chaotic era, storing hard currency is a smart choice."

"Fine, but it takes time." Batman agreed, Deathstroke's reasoning... was normal.

Under Deathstroke's mask emitted a hoarse and sharp laugh, like a Demon breathing.

"Good, the last time I saw the gold price, it was 1300 US dollars per ounce. For the life-saving grace this time, you can figure out how much gold that translates to, but I think we'll have more opportunities for cooperation in the future."

"Then first tell me what you've done with Diana." Batman reminded expressionlessly.

Deathstroke shook his head and stepped back, pushing Star Hero to the front: "She's a mature woman, she knows what she has to do, not your or the Justice League's property, I gave her the Mind Shield Device, she has some tasks she must do."

Batman stared at Deathstroke for a long time before slowly moving his gaze away, perhaps already accustomed to the Three Giant's mode, depending on Diana.

This is dangerous, the Justice League is an alliance, Earth's safety shouldn't rest on the shoulders of any single member, imbalance is the biggest hazard, these need to be noted in the future.

Similarly, Otherworldly Deathstroke had a good relationship with Diana, as previously proven, even in dire circumstances, Diana is still not in life-threatening danger.

Batman's many thoughts naturally wouldn't be displayed on his face, but it was evident he had accepted Diana going to 'handle personal matters'.

He looked back at Star Hero, pulled over a chair for the still-dazed counterpart to sit on.

"Speak."

"Thank you, I swear I don't want to harm anyone here, that's not why I'm here." Star Hero said gratefully, not knowing whether he was thankful for Batman paying the bill or bringing the chair: "It's the Totality, it connected me with every corner of the Cosmos, I saw the Sena Gang, saw your friends."

Batman's cloak enveloped him completely, he stood silently before Star Hero: "Continue."

"I saw her eyes, as dazzlingly bright as the sun." Star Hero nervously pressed his cracked lips, seriously raising his head to look at Batman.

"Whose eyes?"

Star Hero slowly exhaled air from his lungs, leaning back against the chair: "Your friend is about to listen to a story untold for billions of years, a story with the potential to destroy the Multiverse.... Pepetua's story."

.......................

"What is this place?"

Diana holding Bo Bo, while Su Ming holding Green Arrow, two dark shadows flying through the sky, the moon behind gradually shrouded by clouds.

Green Arrow replied loudly against the wind: "This is the place, land!"

The four landed by the sea, the sound of the waves honestly made Su Ming somewhat tired, first Earth sinking, then watching Marvel's ocean for years....

Oliver pointed in a direction, over there is the warehouse district on the pier: "As you can see, we're currently at Seattle's Queen Industrial Port."

"Queen Industrial Port? Has anyone ever told you this naming convention is annoying? When did Seattle South Pier get renamed?" Bo Bo immediately started to rant, since even Batman didn't rename Gotham's port to Wayne Group Port.

Oliver raised both hands, surrendering: "Hey, this was passed by democratic vote, 100% of the dock workers voted in favor, city council agreed to rename, because Queen Industries brought many jobs and tax revenue to this city."

Su Ming kicked aside a dead shark carcass blocking the path, the massive animal spun and flew far away on the sea surface like skipping stones.

"Probably because you spent quite a bit of money too."

Oliver turned around and continued leading the way: "Maybe, I invested billions of US dollars to build all the city roads in Seattle and some public amenities, but this isn't bribery, I just want to do something for the citizens."

Bo Bo once again ruthlessly exposed him, speaking harsh truth: "Before you and Dina got divorced."

Yes, Green Arrow partially retired for a period, after marrying Dina, Dina wanted to live in Seattle, so he moved half of Queen Industries here, leaving Star City to Arsenal Roy.

He and Black Canary enjoyed a decent life here, working at the company during the day, and going out together in the evening to bully minor villains.

But perhaps the 'extracurricular activities' ruined everything.

His old enemies were too many, someone in Seattle wearing green? Playing with bows and arrows?

Numerous hostile organizations quickly set their sights on this new city of Green Arrow, targeting Oliver.

The ensuing result doesn't need saying, a series of dark and brutal stories happened to the newlywed couple, possibly affected by Oliver, Dina's friends died off, even her family wasn't safe.

Every time promised it wouldn't involve family and friends again, but every time was disappointed, things always headed in a bad direction!

After going through too much, Green Arrow reckoned he shouldn't burden Black Canary anymore, mutually agreed divorce, one returned to Star City, the other to Gotham, the best solution.

If Oliver ever thought of truly developing Seattle, after his divorce it obviously became a place of sadness.

But he's undoubtedly a smaller version of Batman, prefers hiding secrets in his own pain.

Just like another secret passage in the Bat Cave, leading to behind the clock on the second floor of Wayne Manor, opening the mechanism requires setting the clock's hour and minute hands to 11:23, the time of Bruce's parents' death back then.

Bruce saw that time on the watch his father dropped on the ground, he forever engraved that immense pain within him.

Similarly, the place Oliver is now taking the group is, no surprise, the commemorative location of his breakup with Dina....
