Chapter 122 - Lina's Weapon Mastery

Pov: Vik

Vik: "I'll handle everything, so you don't need to worry. However, the second stage of this plan requires your full participation. As you know, he is currently in that forest holding the villagers hostage. We can attack him, but the problem is the heaven suppressing zone. I don't have much information about it, other than that it suppresses cultivation levels and spiritual energy in the environment."

Hearing this, Lu Xiaoran said, "Master, the heaven suppressing zone must be linked to that treasure in the mountains. Lin Chen is close to getting it, and I can tell he's in a hurry based on his earlier behavior."

I nodded. This complicated matters, as we needed to act tonight. But we still had to deal with the heaven suppressing zone. Then I had an idea and shared it.

Vik: "Disciples, tonight we will attack Lin Chen. Don't worry about the suppression. If all of them are mortals, I'm confident that you can defeat them easily. For that, we will use a weapon."

They all looked confused, but Lina, seemingly inspired by something, said, "Master, based on your description of the heaven suppressing zone, I can confirm it is a place where the laws of the world revert to their origin. This means it likely resembles the world before the cataclysm. Anything with spiritual energy, or even supported by it, will be useless. So using guns is pointless."

I think Lina is the smartest, even though she's my youngest disciple. While Lu Xiaoran and Roman are still pondering, she is actively questioning things. I need to help those boys improve their understanding. Responding to Lina, I said, "You're right, Lina. That's why we will use the old way. We won't use guns that rely on spiritual energy, but ones that use gunpowder."

Lina looked excited at this, but Lu Xiaoran raised a concern and asked, "But master, how will we get those weapons? I know that thousands of years ago, when our world lacked spiritual energy, such weapons existed. But now they are just relics of the past."

Nodding, Roman added, "Yes master, they stopped being made a thousand years ago. They became extinct because even the best of such weapons can't kill an S rank. Even if they could, they would cause a lot of collateral damage. Now, most of them are just relics that art collectors or museums have. How will we get them?"

Seeing doubt on my disciples' faces, I reassured them, "Don't worry, disciples, your master will handle it."

I wasn't worried about this because I have a system. I was sure it would have a way to create such weapons, just like it built the teaching building for me. So I asked the system, "System, please quickly create some AKs, some pistols, and finally some snipers. While you're at it, create some heavy LMGs and grenades too."

Just as I thought about adding RPGs to this list, the system's voice responded, "Host, I'm sorry, but I cannot do this."

I was silent for a moment before it hit me. This system refused to help. How could I face my disciples and tell them I can't create guns? I spoke to the system again, "System, don't joke. You are a mighty system that built this magnificent Anonymous hall. Now you're telling me you can't create a simple gun?"

System: "Host, that was when I was still connected to the main system space. Now I no longer have access to my own functions."

Vik: "Forget it. You're not a mighty system. You're just a chatbot."

Realizing the system wasn't going to help me, I focused on the problem again and thought I could at least make some pistols. I started by using some metal I got from the city. I melted it, molded it into shape, made many parts, and then assembled it.

I finally made a simple pistol, but it didn't have a magazine. It used a basic load-and-shoot system, so we had to load each bullet manually. After finishing, I confidently showed it to my disciples. Both Lu Xiaoran and Roman stared at it in awe, but Lina examined it strangely.

With her thoughts on the matter, she said, "Master, I think this pistol isn't good. Even a bow and arrow may have a longer range. It's just a prototype made at home, and it may not be suitable for our operation."

Her words stung a bit, but I managed to keep my composure. As a teacher, I said, "You're right. This is just a homemade gun. We will use better ones next time, and I'll make them."

Hearing this, Lina looked at me with pleading eyes. "Master, can you please let me help make the weapons? You know my ancestors were the first to create weapons that use spiritual energy. I grew up hearing their stories, but I've never built anything myself. I want to create these old-era weapons."

I agreed to let her help since I wanted to improve the quality of the weapons before nightfall, and having her assist wouldn't be much trouble. At most, she could help hold things and tools.

After an hour, I noticed I had underestimated her. Now I was sitting in another room of the Anonymous hall, which had been modified into a workshop with many tools. But that wasn't what surprised me.

Lina was making one pistol after another with impressive accuracy, and all of them were top quality. First, she made pistols that used rollers to hold six bullets. Next, she crafted semi-automatic modern pistols, and now she was working on extended magazine models. I was just sitting there, watching her work. I have to say, this girl has a talent for science and technology. I need to adjust her teaching to fit her skills.
