Chapter 124 - Hunt in the City

Meanwhile, a white snake was sitting in Anonymous Hall, crafting weapons with his new disciple. Suddenly, he sneezed. Rubbing his nose, he said, "Strange, I can't catch a cold at my level. Why did I suddenly sneeze? Maybe someone is talking bad about me behind my back."

Right now, my disciple Lina and I are making weapons that rely on simple combustion and physics to function in the heaven suppressing zone. I didn't even attempt to create more advanced weapons like missiles because we are unsure how the heaven suppressing zone will affect them.

After seeing that she can handle these weapons on her own, I asked the system to prepare the materials she needed. Then, I left the temporary workshop hall with Lu Xiaoran and Roman because I needed them for another task.

We entered the body cultivation hall. I took out a portable chair from my space storage, sat down, and addressed my disciples.

"Disciples, we need to improve your body cultivation. The heaven suppressing zone has no spiritual energy in the environment, and our body cultivation may also get suppressed. You need to refine your bodies further."

When I finished speaking, Roman raised his hand and asked, "Master, if our body cultivation also gets suppressed like spiritual cultivation, what is the point of refining it? The higher the person's level, the more suppression they feel from that zone."

I nodded at his question; he was correct. However, he didn't know my full plan, which was the source of his doubts. To clear things up, I explained, "Disciple, you won't do normal body refining training. Using the facilities of this Anonymous Hall, I will temporarily mimic the conditions of the heaven suppressing zone."

I then ordered the system to change the environment. Soon, all the spiritual energy in the body cultivation hall vanished. It now felt like we were in the heaven suppressing zone. But that wasn't enough. They could still use the spiritual energy stored in their bodies, since this environment wasn't actively suppressing their cultivation at the level of law, which I could not mimic.

To solve this issue, I instructed them to exhaust all the spiritual energy in their bodies. Once they did that, their bodies would try to gather spiritual energy from the environment, similar to breathing. But this place had no such energy, so they naturally weakened.

Once they reached that state, I started their training, which included running for kilometers, jumping over obstacles, climbing walls and trees, underwater training, and much more. I didn't have much time, so I focused on changing their tactics to improve their stamina and agility in a forest environment.

Soon it was evening, and I had to clean up in the city. I needed to neutralize the assets Lin Chen had there. I told my disciples to continue training for a few more hours. Once I completed my work, I would call them to join me at Azure Mountains.

I teleported back to the mansion, where I found Sherry and Lu Xiaoran's mother, Layla. They were busy with chores. Sherry tried to refuse help, but Layla insisted. They greeted me when they saw me, and I returned the greeting. After warning Sherry to be cautious that night, I went outside.

Before I could exit, Pushpa, my cute cat, followed me out of the mansion gate. Still holding her pink-haired doll, she climbed onto my shoulder and refused to let go, so I had to take her with me. Before leaving, I placed an extra magic circle around the mansion. This would ensure that all the inhabitants would be teleported to Anonymous Hall if someone tried to breach the place; I couldn't take any risks.

As I stepped out into the city, I looked at the sun setting on the horizon. My hunt was about to begin. I felt like I was in a spy movie. I changed my outfit to a long overcoat, black glasses, and a round hat, making me look like a perfect stranger. Seeing my new look, Pushpa protested, so I got her a hat and black glasses too.

As I walked through the city streets, I soon reached my first target just as night fell. I sat in front of the Golden Dragon Guild. This guild was newly formed by Lin Chen, where he gathered people and cultivators to hunt and clear dungeons.

It was time to begin my work. Without wasting a moment, I teleported to the main office, where I found the man who was second in command of the guild. Without giving him a chance to react, I knocked him unconscious. While searching his recent memories, I discovered the locations of other hideouts for their members.

After leaving the guild, I started a small fire that would soon engulf the building. Not wanting to harm innocents, I allowed enough time for everyone to evacuate. I then raided their hideouts one by one, eliminating those I deemed criminals—the filth that didn't deserve to live. Soon, only Lin Chen's so-called uncle, the vice mayor of the city, Silas, remained.

I finally arrived at his place, but I found an interesting guest with Silas. Currently, I stood inside the bedroom of Silas's villa. Silas was sitting on his bed alongside an old man in black robes. This was the same old man who had hunted and trapped Lu Xiaoran.

Upon seeing him, I sensed that he was at the early stage of the Void Traveling realm, just like me. We exchanged glances, while Silas smiled and said, "I don't know who you are, but you arrived at a wrong time. You can stay here… forever."

I smiled and gently placed Pushpa down from my shoulder. Patting her head, I said, "Pushpa, things are about to get hectic for a moment. Please behave; I will finish my work soon."

With that, I turned my attention back to the old man and Silas. This time, a small flame flickered in my hand. It was the first time I would use my flame in an attack since the Great Fire Forest incident. I hoped I wouldn't accidentally burn down the city.
