She continued, "I searched all their memories and found something interesting. The entire Lin family is following Lin Yang's advice. She has become a disciple of a mysterious figure. Through this backer, she learned about the Chosen One. They systematically found Lin Chen, who was still an infant at the time."
Louriel said, "Back then, she used a treasure given by that backer to temporarily block Lin Chen's luck and kidnap him, killing his original family. Then they planned everything slowly, making Lin Chen a puppet protagonist."
I asked, "So if we ask Lin Yang, she could tell us more?"
Louriel looked at me with a sigh. "Unfortunately, Lin Yang somehow escaped my undead. I don't know how; maybe it has something to do with that mysterious figure. But right now, Lin Yang is far from here, and I can't locate her."
Louriel clearly didn't like Lin Yang's escape, as I could see in her disappointed expression. Changing the subject, I said, "It's okay to fail sometimes, Louriel. We can have another chance to track Lin Yang and find that mysterious person behind all this. In fact, I have a way to look into what Lin Yang is doing now."
Louriel frowned and replied, "Do you really have a method to track Lin Yang? Even with my undead skills, I can't find her. It's likely because she has either left this world or gained an absolute hiding skill."
I nodded and explained, "I have a skill that is quite mysterious. It allows me to see the story—or fate—of someone, maybe more. All I know is that it helps me pierce through illusions and see the truth."
Louriel said, "If your technique is really that impressive, you can try it. But remember, don't overdo it. I think that mysterious person backing Lin Yang is with her, so be careful not to face any soul attacks. Generally, using such a skill brings you to the astral plane with your soul body, and even then, there are many ways to injure or kill you there."
I nodded but didn't say anything. I understood that my technique didn't use astral projection but took me to a different plane of existence. I was referring to the Maya Manifestation technique, which helped me uncover Chakor's story and even showed me my supposed future as a chosen one, had I not rejected the system and created an anomaly.
With that in mind, I told Louriel that I would use my special technique. She nodded and ordered Winston to return the Lu family ancestor and the skeleton soldiers. In the complete silence around us, I sat down cross-legged and started circulating my Maya Manifestation technique.
Having some experience from using it twice, I focused on entering that mysterious white space, which I now call the origin space. I still didn't know the full capabilities of that space or this technique, but I felt that this name suited it perfectly.
As I focused and circulated the technique, the world around me stopped. Soon, I found myself again in that white space, surrounded by an endless white scene. Last time, I unknowingly watched Chakor's story play out in front of me like a screen.
Recalling that feeling, I thought about Lin Yang, remembered everything I knew about her, and focused on knowing her current situation.
Soon, a screen appeared in front of me, showing Lin Yang's story unfold. It began with events in the Lin family mansion when Lin Yang was born. I had no intention of seeing the full story, so I tried an experiment. I commanded the screen to show me Lin Yang's current situation.
Fortunately, my experiment worked. The screen fast-forwarded and then returned to normal. It now displayed a scene of a large mountain surrounded by many smaller peaks, as tall as Azure Mountain. This mountain was the most beautiful I had ever seen.
Golden water flowed like fountains, and clouds drifted in the landscape. Many beasts roamed around the mountain, but my main focus was the girl kneeling on the ground in front of a gate that looked like the entrance to the main mountain.
That girl was Lin Yang. She knelt there, screaming, "Master! Please help me. I will do anything; just help me take revenge for my family."
Hearing her words, a man descended from the mountain. He had fiery red hair and a muscular body. Seeing her, he snorted and said, "Just a disciple in name, and you dare to call our great lord your master."
Lin Yang did not respond but bowed lower. The man continued, "But our lord is kind, so he invited you up to the guest pavilion."
Lin Yang rejoiced and followed him. They climbed the mountain path and reached a pavilion with a large pond. In the pond were large dragon-like beasts radiating great power, though still lesser than the dragon Gullnor.
Sitting on the banks of the lake was a man fishing. Occasionally, he caught some dragon beasts and released them back. When Lin Yang reached him, she immediately knelt and began banging her head on the ground, pleading for help.
The man finally turned to her. He had striking pure white hair—not like Vik's ashen hair—and red eyes, along with a beauty that looked almost feminine. He was so beautiful, he could have been a banished immortal from heaven.
Looking back at Lin Yang, he said, "Lin Yang, I accepted you as a disciple in name, but you failed me. I gave you resources and a perfect plan, but you still didn't give me what I wanted. You couldn't release that dragon."
Hearing about the dragon, she gritted her teeth. "Master, I did as you instructed and released that dragon, but it attacked my family and enslaved us all. There's also a person named Vik who fought him and made him retreat."
The man frowned at her words. "Interesting. Someone is strong enough to fight a human immortal in this mortal plane."
Lin Yang persisted, "Master, please give me another chance. That dragon killed my family. I want to hunt him down; please help me."
The man laughed and replied, "Oh, my poor Lin Yang, you still don't understand. Helping you was never my intention. You know I have some dragon beasts in my pond, but none of them are true dragons. I wanted a true dragon for my pond. This was also your test; I told you to release that dragon. After it wreaks havoc in this world—perhaps destroying half of this continent—I would appear as a hero saving the world while getting a new pet. But you failed me and your family."
Lin Yang looked at him in dread and asked, "Master, what about my family?"
The man laughed again. "They are nothing but disposable to me, just like you."
Before Lin Yang could comprehend this, a bright light pierced her head. With that, her soul left her body, appearing as a bead in the man's hand.
With Lin Yang's death, the screen flickered, as she was the source of the story. Now that she was dead, the story ended, and the screen stopped. I contemplated the information I had gathered. I didn't get much, but I remembered the inscription on that mountain gate.
Standing in that white space, I recalled the name of that mountain and the power behind Lin Yang: "Infinite Heaven Sect."
