"Watch me!" With a shout, Frus, having completed his attire change, swung his great axe down towards the River Crab's head.
The two River Crabs swiftly moved to the sides, trailing heavy purple remnants—pleased with their own performance, yet knowing their primary mission was not to fight, but to survive and ensure their master had an all-encompassing, multi-angle viewing experience.
The black axe landed heavily on the ground with a thud, extending a crack more than two meters forward.
Two groups of Stone Beetles sensed danger and burrowed underground.
Two groups of Golems continued to charge forward valiantly, turning their right fists into rocks and hurling them.
The rocks, adorned with blue swirling patterns, flew towards Foster and Frus with a whooshing sound.
Foster raised his shield to block two, while Frus stood his great axe up to deflect the other two with its blade.
The clang of the four metallic clashes and the force felt in their hands made the two realize these beastly Golems weren't just ordinary entities.
As they were about to proceed forward, suddenly 6 wolves leapt over the Golems' heads and lunged at them.
Three gunshots rang out, nearly drowning the sound of bowstrings, as 6 wolves were struck either by arrows or bullets.
Frus cheered, "Fevers and Sexe, well done!"
On the bunker roof, clad in black armor, a man and a woman were reloading and drawing arrows, getting ready to target other opponents.
Just then, the arrows and bullets exploded, causing 4 smaller wolves to fall to the ground and vanish.
The two larger wolves, in pain, still managed to claw at Foster and Frus's shoulders and attempted to bite down on their helmets.
Their face shields quickly snapped shut, activating a small Defense Magic Array on their helmets.
The teeth of the large Shadow Wolves ground against the helmets with crunching sounds but failed to cause any damage, nor could their claws leave a mark on the shoulder armor.
Suddenly, the shoulder armor of the two glowed with blue magical light, emitting deep soundwaves that sent the large Shadow Wolves flying backward as if struck by a heavy hammer.
The Shadow Wolves slammed into the Golems, only to be dispatched by the two who stepped forward with sword and axe strikes, causing them to disappear.
Foster voiced his doubt, "Disappeared again... Could it all be the work of Summoning Magic?"
No time to ponder, as Stone Beetles burst from the earth, biting at him and Frus's ankles, while 4 Golems swung fists towards their faces and chests.
The Firearms Soldier and Archer moved to assist, but then saw 12 red Beaked Birds take to the sky, showering them with a barrage of feathered darts.
In the face of unknown strength, the two chose not to test their armor's durability and turned to dodge behind the parapet, backs against the wall.
The red feathers struck the stone-built outer wall with explosive sounds, scattering debris.
Many also shot through the embrasures, hitting the ground at their feet, embedding two inches deep and creating small pits.
Fragments of stone ricocheted off their armor with a clinking sound.
"With this level of power..."
"As long as they're not hitting the same spot, it should be fine."
The two turned, raising guns and bows at the embrasure, only to be faced with two ghostly faces.
"!!!"
"What the hell are those!"
Instinctively, they fired. The two small Ghosts fell back after being hit, but two large Ghosts lunged in, overturning them by pressing on their shoulders.
Their sharp claws scraped against the armor, emitting an irritating sound, only leaving fine scratches.
The helmets flickered with small Defense Arrays, and their arm armor shone. One swung his gun, the other his bow, hitting the large Ghosts at the waist sideways.
The Ghosts' bodies, under immense attack, nearly folded and were sent flying, crashing against the parapet.
The Beaked Birds circled above, seeing their allies forced away, launched another round of feather barrages.
The two rolled awkwardly to avoid feathers hitting the same spot on the armor, rolling to the base of the wall amid a chorus of clinks.
Gunshots erupted; one Beaked Bird dropped from gunfire, another from an arrow.
Meanwhile, four others had donned armor and were rushing into battle, three went outside armed with Knight's Lance, Large Hammer, and Great Saber, while a woman with a clarinet ascended to the roof.
Sekend raised the Knight's Lance, charging out and collided with a Two-headed Wolf, Serude swung his Large Hammer at another Two-headed Wolf.
Aites's Great Saber suddenly extended to ten meters, slashing down 4 small Shadow Wolves.
From afar, Mira's eyes sparkled, "Li Li's sword has always been able to extend."
Rhode laughed, "Perfect, it'll make a nice souvenir for him."
It's said that Li Li was quite beaten by Mira in Edolas, so a small gift must make up for it.
These people's armor seems impressive too, with various magic on helmets, shoulder armor, and arm armor.
Earlier, Foster and Frus used Combat Boots to shatter four Stone Beetles, another kind of magic.
With this armor, one becomes quite a formidable Mage, no wonder Wakaba said even he didn't have full confidence against them.
Gentle music started from the rooftop, and the circling Beaked Birds slowed dramatically, almost coming to a halt.
The last small Ghost also moved sluggishly.
Gunshots echoed, the Beaked Birds vanished one by one, the small Ghost sent back to the Twisted Jungle.
The three on the roof cleared their airborne foes before aiding the battle below.
The five below took some effort to dispatch the Stone Beetles, then regrouped to batter down the four Golems.
Frus grumbled, "Damn, where'd so many strong Magical Beasts come from, and they even fight as a team."
"Pretty sure it's a Summoning Mage behind this," Foster stated, "we need to find and deal with them."
Out of nowhere, Aites remarked, "And those two big crabs still around?"
The River Crabs, trying to lower their presence, quickly dashed off, a bullet and arrow landing just behind them.
Sexe, displeased at the purple afterimages, "Tch, what speed."
Fevers instead focused, eyeing the larger adversaries ahead, "Forget them, not the time right now, there's still troublesome ones there."
Xiaolan and Xiaohong strolled up the hill calmly, and the Black Knights steeled themselves, noting their size, ready for a fierce battle.
Foster, his body tense, advised, "Be careful, Fevers and Sexe, see if you can spot the Summoning Mage, taking them out will save us a lot of effort."
"Understood," replied Fevers.
Sexe drew her bow, aiming at Xiaolan up front, "Let me have a shot at this one first."
Whoosh—the arrow flew, and two blobs of purple fluid rose behind Xiaolan, forming two elegant arcs, landing on the rooftop.
