Chapter 707 - Chapter 45: Mission Accomplished

Mira looked at the few people on the opposite mountain who were gradually losing the will to fight: "They're almost at their limit, aren't they?"

Rhode nodded: "Yeah, let's give them a quick end."

To Rhode, this level was nothing, but six years ago, they would have been a core force in most guilds, and even the ace in smaller ones.

But this level shouldn't be enough to overturn Erza and Natsu.

Rhode waved his hand to disperse the surrounding Alchemy Mist, and wings sprouted on his back.

Mira also grew a pair of Devil Wings, and the two flew over together.

Although Fevers had most of his attention on Xiaolan, as a supporting gunman, he still noticed the two figures: "Someone's flying over, two of them!"

"Finally can't hold back, huh?" Foster was delighted, with only one Summoned Beast left, the opponent finally couldn't resist showing up.

As long as the opponent gets careless once...

"We still have a chance!" Foster couldn't take his eyes off Xiaolan, and could only ask, "What kind of people are they?"

"They are..." Fevers worried about mistaking them, tapped his faceplate, and activated the Teleportation Magic, clearly reflecting Rhode and Mira's faces in his eyes.

Then, Fevers' firearm clattered to the ground, his lips trembling and unable to speak.

Next to him, Sekxi was startled: "Be careful not to misfire, you idiot!"

Then she also curiously looked over, then her knees buckled and she sat on the ground: "It's... it's over..."

Foster awkwardly dodged a punch from Xiaolan and angrily shouted: "Hey, what's wrong with you two?! What did you see?"

Fevers' pupils dilated: "It's... a monster."

Sekxi's face was pale: "Monster..."

"What nonsense, what monster..." Foster froze, was it the monster he was thinking of?

He suddenly remembered he was in battle, freezing up could be bad, but Xiaolan's fist did not continue to fall.

Because Rhode and Mira landed on Xiaolan's shoulders on either side, reaching out to touch its head.

The man was handsome, the woman beautiful, and Xiaolan was cute.

But none of those present could appreciate it, the tremendous Magic Power weighed on them so heavily they could hardly breathe.

Sevens' lips quivered: "The seventh of the Ten Wizard Saints, who defeated five guilds with one strike..."

"Why are you here!!!"

Foster shouted hoarsely, then lost all strength, falling to the ground, gasping for air.

It should have been obvious that someone with such a powerful Summoned Beast wouldn't have weak Magic Power. But he persisted in hoping they weren't good in close combat.

But to think the Summoned Beast was backed by such a 'thing'...

"Just cleaning up after a few fools." Rhode looked at them, "Not going to fight anymore?"

"Heh, haha..." The few of them removed their helmets and tossed them aside, only wearing grim smiles.

Fight? Wait for a Lightning Bath?

Rhode realized how effective his reputation was.

At that time, he thought that any of the people present could easily handle those inexperienced opponents. The reason he intervened was to give face to Vorod and Makarov.

In reality, to ordinary people, that was a terrifying feat. Many first understood the power of the Ten Wizard Saints through him.

In fact, he underestimated the weight of his own achievements.

Even though he had concluded that this group probably had nothing to do with his companions' disappearance, Rhode still asked just in case: "Have you seen any Fairy Tail mages these past two days?"

Foster closed his eyes, unwilling to speak another word.

Sevens tremblingly said: "We, we only know that someone might have hired mages to deal with us, but we don't know who they hired. We haven't seen any mages these days..."

But today, they saw an extraordinary mage.

It seems they really are unrelated.

Rhode took out a Long Spear from Edolas, activated the Binding Magic on it, and tied everyone up, sealing their magic as well.

Mira went to collect the size-changing knife, as well as the clarinet, firearms, and bows, preparing to give them away later.

Rhode called two surviving River Crabs to walk around the fortress, clearly seeing the granary, treasury, and secret rooms inside before taking them to meet the client.

When they returned to the town, it wasn't dark yet, and the pedestrians on the street were a bit scared when they saw the two large purple crabs.

But soon someone recognized Rhode and Mira, and some noticed the remnants of black armor on the eight captives, courageously stepping forward to ask.

Rhode loudly announced: "We are mages of Fairy Tail, here on the commission from your mayor to defeat the Black Knight Bandit Group, and now we've captured everyone!"

Rhode had placed importance on restoring the guild's reputation, so he didn't mention his name, emphasizing Fairy Tail.

Of course, he didn't forget to mention the mayor, letting everyone know the mayor was always trying hard.

The tattered armor on the bandits was also deliberately kept for easier recognition.

Even though it was just an ordinary subjugation mission, Rhode had put his heart into it.

After several announcements, Rhode didn't have to shout anymore. The excited residents naturally spread the word.

The mayor soon heard the news and came out personally with his secretary and several guards to welcome them.

"The entire Black Knight Bandit Group is here, and in their hideout are unspent loot and money. I drew a map; please send someone to bring it back."

There was quite a bit of room for operation here, but Fairy Tail would never do such things, especially not at this moment.

"Thank you, thank you both! These villains have finally been captured!"

The mayor quickly ordered guards to escort them away, and later they would be transferred to the Fiore Kingdom's prison or an Advisory Council branch.

He then ordered people to prepare carriages and horses to transport the loot before dark.

"Please let me entertain you both properly."

Rhode declined: "No need for hospitality, I have something I would like to ask of you, Mr. Mayor."

"Please go ahead."

Rhode took out a magazine, circling Erza, Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Wendy, Hapi, and Carla in a photo on the cover.

"Could you please help ask if anyone in town has seen these people? We need any clues related to them."

"That's easy!" The mayor agreed readily.

He took Rhode and Mira to his office, took out a Magic Crystal, illuminated the magazine cover, and projected it onto a large screen in the town's center square.

At the same time, a large screen was projected in mid-air by the town's central Magic Crystal, showing this photo.

The mayor also wrote words, projecting them on the screen, and read them out through a broadcast, explaining that these were people sought by the town's benefactors.

He called for anyone who had seen these people to report. If anyone was unwilling to show up, they could send a letter.

Rhode and Mira were thankful for the mayor's thoroughness.

The mayor invited them to the banquet, and although they politely declined, saying they had urgent matters to attend to.

Reluctantly, the mayor signed the commission sheet and settled their reward.

Rhode only accepted sixty percent of the commission fee, as agreed earlier, and arranged to return the next day for news, before leaving with Mira.
