Chapter 747 - Chapter 85: Fairy's Heart

"Lisana~ Time to start working~"

"Coming~"

Fairy Tail returned to normal operations after the hustle and bustle.

Some people, like Elfman and Ibarglin, took on missions and left, some were lazing around as usual, and others hadn't shown up since morning.

After a busy half-day, Lisana sat idly with Laki by the counter, puzzledly saying, "Why does it feel so empty today?"

Laki said, "Because a lot of people started training—that magic Rhode mentioned."

"Brother-in-law said that?" Lisana thought for a moment, recalling what Rhode posted on the notice board, "The Second Magic Source?"

"Yeah," Laki said, "Just the ones I know include Wendy, Kana, and Gajeel."

"What about Natsu and Gray? It seems like they wouldn't fall behind on something like this."

"Them…" Laki chuckled, "They haven't earned enough for living expenses yet; they might start in a few days?"

"Living expenses…" Lisana laughed, almost gloating.

Natsu and Gray seemed to worry more about living expenses as they grew up; perhaps because they lacked Destructive Power as kids, it wasn't as big of an issue then.

Makarov slowly descended the stairs, looked around, and asked, "Lisana, didn't Rhode come today?"

"No, brother-in-law and sister went off on their honeymoon."

Makarov was silent for a moment: "…They really ran away, huh."

"Ran away?" Lisana looked at him in confusion, "Did something happen?"

'Because I was planning to make him the guild master.' Makarov couldn't say that no matter what.

That brat, running off after just hearing about it, does becoming Fairy Tail's president seem shameful?!

And to think I trusted him so much!

Makarov cursed Rhode dozens of times in his mind with words like 'bastard' and 'idiot,' but still smiled at Lisana: "It's nothing, we'll talk after they're back, tell them to have fun."

"…" Lisana didn't know how to respond, they've already left, how am I supposed to pass the message?

"President," Laki asked, "Why haven't we seen the First Generation today?"

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, the First Generation went back to Celestial Wolf Island yesterday; she said she had a lot of fun these days and will visit the guild when she has time." Makarov waved his hand and went back upstairs—since yesterday, some idiots have been causing trouble.

"Has time?" Laki looked at Lisana puzzledly, "Isn't the First Generation a Ghost? Is she busy on Celestial Wolf Island?"

"I'm not sure either." Lisana thought for a moment, guessing, "Maybe the First Generation is taking on some role like Island Guardian?"

At this moment, Rhode and Mira had already checked into a hotel in the Royal Capital.

Rhode stubbornly believed this was the start of their romance, so the honeymoon journey had to begin here.

Mira was organizing her things and asked, "Is it really okay to just run off like this?"

Rhode hugged Mira's waist from behind, watching her busy, and sighed, "I can't help it, just got married and the president already wants to murder me."

"How could it be murder…" Mira laughed, "What did the president and the First Generation talk to you about yesterday?"

"It started off fairly normal, just the First Generation talking about things regarding Zeref. Then..."

Then he saw the First Generation's naked body.

This matter was really hard to talk about.

Yesterday, Makarov and Mebius took him to the basement, unlocked the seal of a hidden room, saying they wanted to tell him the guild's greatest secret.

Rhode never expected that Fairy Tail's foundation was closely tied to Zeref.

The original four founders all learned Magic from Zeref.

Mebius even suffered Ankseram God's curse for using an incomplete version of Fairy Law.

Yes, the same curse as Zeref's.

Her body stopped aging, theoretically resulting in an immortal body, but the life-stealing effect took place only on the day she truly became aware of the value of life.

—Because that was the day she witnessed Yuri's son's birth and named him 'Makarov.'

On that very day, the curse took Makarov's mother's life.

Rhode couldn't forget the expression on the old guy's face when he heard the First Generation talk about this.

His mother died because of a curse from the person he admired the most. Even after 80 years of hardship, Makarov was stunned for quite a while.

But he soon realized it wasn't the First Generation's fault; back then, the First Generation took the risk of using 'Law' to save his father Yuri.

The old guy could only sigh about fate, then comfort the remorseful Mebius like an elder.

Then Rhode heard even stranger things from Mebius.

Because she was afraid of hurting others again, she ran away from the guild. Like Zeref, she tried various methods, but couldn't die.

Later, Mebius met Zeref again.

The two, sharing the same fate, fell in love; as a result… Zeref's curse activated first, and Mebius was taken by death because of Zeref's love.

And because she was also cursed, supposedly immortal, the curse didn't fully take effect, and Mebius fell into a strange state between life and death.

Afterward, Precht tried all sorts of methods to save Mebius, which ultimately led to an accident.

'Flowing Starlight' or 'Fairy's Heart' was born because of this. — He actually turned Mebius's body into a Magic Source capable of providing infinite Magic Power.

The 'Demon's Heart' Precht carried on the boat to Celestial Wolf Island was actually a low-end counterfeit of Fairy's Heart.

—Even Precht, who created this magic, couldn't recreate a second Fairy's Heart.

Since 'Fairy's Heart' originated from the curse and was born from Mebius's life, magic should be categorized as Black Magic.

But the Magic Power it provides is so bright and holy that it seems impossible to simply define it as Black Magic.

Of course, this wasn't important, as Precht quickly realized it was an unprecedented enormous trouble.

Unlimited Magic Power is unlimited energy, endless power, and once exposed, it would inevitably lead to unending battles.

There would be countless people like Ivan, wanting to seize Fairy's Heart for themselves.

At that time, Precht immediately decided to seal it underground in the guild, classifying it as top-secret only known to the guild master.

Rhode soon realized that even as Precht later turned towards darkness, he never thought of stealing Fairy's Heart.

Perhaps that's why Makarov and Mebius were willing to let Precht go.

Then Rhode realized something was wrong—why was he told a secret only known to the guild master?
