"So tired..."
After training, Mira lay back directly, her small feet resting on Rhode's stomach, gently stepping on him.
Rhode grabbed her ankle and pressed down slightly.
Mira swiftly withdrew her foot, turned over, sat up, and hugged her legs: "I told you, this is not okay, it's too weird!"
Before Rhode could speak, she excitedly said, "Hurry up, hurry up, it's time to open the gifts!"
The newlywed gifts from everyone hadn't been opened yet, all stored in Rhode's dressing space.
On their way out, they discussed it and decided to open two every day during their honeymoon, to have a little surprise each day.
Rhode suspected she was deliberately changing the topic, but it was okay, they'd get to it later.
He asked, "Whose should we open first?"
Mira thought for a moment and said, "Elfman and Lisana's, I really want to know what they sent."
"Okay." Rhode took out two boxes, then thought for a moment and took out a third one, "Let's open this one too, I have a bad feeling."
Mira sniffed lightly: "...I think I smell something strange, who sent this?"
She reached out and flipped over the tag on top: [Hapi].
Mira was silent for a moment: "We probably should have opened it sooner."
Rhode said helplessly, "We've been too busy to get around to it."
"Hold on while I open the window." Mira jumped off the bed barefoot, pushing the window open, and the cold winter wind rushed in.
"So cold!" Mira, wearing a thin nightgown, shivered, hurriedly running back to dive into Rhode's arms, draping his arm over her like a blanket.
Rhode fumbled around, and the two inevitably made a ruckus for a while, before they finally, with heavy hearts, opened Hapi's gift box.
As soon as the lid opened, a fishy smell wafted out. Upon closer inspection, indeed, there was a fish inside.
"Hmm~~" Mira covered her nose with one hand, raised the other hand high, pinched Rhode's nose, and asked in a muffled voice, "Three days, right?"
Rhode nodded with a complicated expression: "Yes, three days."
The fish Hapi sent was actually quite expensive; mainly, it was hard to get.
Lisana said Hapi deliberately took a trip out to Oshibana's lake to catch it.
To catch this fish, Hapi dragged Natsu along for four rides.
For a moment, the two were in a bit of a dilemma.
Throwing it away would waste Hapi's effort, but eating it was a bit unappetizing.
Rhode thought of a method, took three seconds to make up his mind: "Summoning, Warm!"
"Who?"
The tiny Warm appeared instantly, and Rhode gently slapped the bottom of the box, causing the fish to fly out.
Without hesitation, Warm opened wide and bit into the fish.
Rhode acted swiftly: "Close the door!"
With the fish in its mouth, Warm returned to the Wailing Abyss, looking slightly puzzled.
Mira felt a bit guilty: "Is this okay? It won't upset its stomach, right?"
"It's fine, it's winter now, and three days isn't completely spoiled yet... Warm tends to eat even the plate when it's in a rush."
Rhode patted Mira's conscience, feeling he had no other choice, as giving a fresh fish as a wedding gift was too creative.
He disposed of the gift box and then cast a wind magic to purify the air, before they proceeded to open the gifts from their younger siblings.
Lisana's gift was a figurine about ten centimeters high.
It was sculpted based on the image of Mira and Rhode embracing with flowers after confessing to each other.
Probably from a portrait painted by Lidas that she saw while organizing Rhode's luggage earlier.
The base was engraved with the words 'Wishing sister and brother-in-law eternal happiness.'
Mira happily played with it in her hands, lightly caressing 'Rhode's' face with her fingers, fully enamored with it.
Rhode chuckled, "Lisana is really good at choosing gifts."
Mira said happily, "That's because she's my sister."
She played with 'Rhode' for a while longer before putting down the figurine and picking up Elfman's gift box.
Even though she'd told herself that she would love whatever her brother sent, there was a concern he'd send something strange.
With a heavy heart, Mira opened the gift box to find two smaller boxes inside.
On the two boxes, wobbly handwriting read 'Sister' and 'Brother-in-law.'
Each of them took a box, opened it, and found a shiny golden pocket watch inside.
The covers were engraved with different patterns, which upon closer inspection revealed Rhode's watch bore Mira's name, and Mira's watch bore Rhode's name.
Inside the cover was an intimate photo of Rhode and Mira together.
Rhode sighed, realizing his brother-in-law was also adept at gift-giving.
Mira, holding her mouth, was so touched she nearly cried.
Just as Rhode was about to say something comforting, Mira blurted out, "That's great... Elfman, he... he can give normal gifts!"
At least there's no worry he'll give girls fish like Hapi in the future!
Mira felt immensely relieved.
Rhode: "..."
Your expectations for our brother are really low.
After fiddling with the gifts for a while and discussing magic matters, the two finally turned off the lights to sleep.
...
The next morning, after packing their bags, they went to the front desk to check out, ready to experience the Ferris Wheel Hotel.
"Please wait, this is the refund for both of you." The front desk clerk refunded all their accommodation and meal expenses.
Rhode asked, "Why?"
"Yesterday, the princess's guards came to settle your expenses and instructed us to refund the fees. Moreover, if you continue to stay, all bills will be charged to the princess's name."
The two exchanged a glance and didn't refuse.
It seemed Princess Jade was quite thoughtful towards her friends.
In the following three days, Rhode and Mira experienced the 'Ferris Wheel' and 'Flying Wheel' hotels.
They played during the day and trained at night, visiting all the famous restaurants in the city, and explored every famous site except the Royal Palace.
Along the way, they often encountered occasions where meals were on the house, though Princess Jade seemed quite busy and never appeared.
Especially this morning, Rhode overheard that two nobles had their homes raided.
He suspected it was related to an incident a few days ago, though simply using weapons to blow up a restaurant shouldn't have caused such a serious outcome, there must have been more to the story.
However, this was no longer their concern, as Rhode and Mira were leaving the Royal Capital today.
They were also planning to visit the Great Demon Fighting Martial Arts venue on the mountain outside the city, satisfying their curiosity while scouting for the guild.
"The gifts we bought have already been sent home, let's check if we forgot anything."
Mira patted the suitcase: "No problem!"
After checking out, they left, but before leaving the city, they ran into another familiar face.
"Miss Yukino?"
Yukino recognized them as well: "Lord Rhode, Lady Mirajane? Are you..."
Mira linked her arm with Rhode's, tilted her head onto his shoulder, and smiled: "On our honeymoon."
Rhode suspected she was showing off their love.
