Chapter 139 - # Chapter 140: The Accel Synchro Battle Style

# Chapter 140: The Accel Synchro Battle Style

"28,800 attack points?" Sugihara Yo and Yuto exchanged a grim glance. They were out of options.

"Go! Chimeratech Overdragon, attack Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" Ryo Marufuji commanded with a wave of his hand. "It's over!"

A colossal beam of laser energy shot from Chimeratech Overdragon's mouth. It pierced through Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon, and with its power undiminished, it surged toward the two duelists.

Seeing this, Yuto shoved Sugihara Yo aside, choosing to take the full force of the laser with his own body.

"Yuto!" Pushed away, Sugihara Yo's eyes widened in horror, watching helplessly as Yuto was engulfed by the torrent of light.

Yuto/Sugihara Yo LP: 2600 → 0

The duel ended, and the solid vision projections slowly faded. Sugihara Yo rushed to the side of the grievously wounded Yuto.

"Quick... run... you're a Card Creator... your life is more important than mine." Covered in wounds, Yuto used his last ounce of strength to utter these words before passing out.

Just then, Ryo Marufuji slowly approached, looking down on them from above.

"What now? Going to finish the job?" Sugihara Yo said coldly, gritting his teeth.

"You can go," Ryo Marufuji said.

"What?" Sugihara Yo was stunned.

"That failure Aster Phoenix escaped from you twice. I don't like being in anyone's debt, not even an enemy's. This makes us even," Ryo Marufuji stated coldly.

"Furthermore, in those two instances, you gave that failure Aster Phoenix a total of 37 days. Therefore, I will give you the same 37 days to rest and regroup. In 37 days, I will personally lead an all-out attack. At that time, we'll settle the matter of life and death." After speaking, Ryo Marufuji turned and left with his Personal Guard, leaving a conflicted Sugihara Yo standing alone.

After Ryo Marufuji was long gone, several Resistance Army soldiers ran out from within the Orion District. At that moment, Sugihara Yo, his body also at its limit, finally collapsed.

As night fell, Yūga Hōzumi put on his sunglasses as usual and entered Bruno's dream.

Bruno had already grown accustomed to crashing his D-Wheel once every night in his dreams. So, the moment Yūga Hōzumi entered the dreamscape, Bruno's D-Wheel was already waiting at the starting line of the track.

This time, however, Yūga Hōzumi wasn't in a hurry to start the lesson. Instead, he parked his D-Wheel past the starting line, got off, and beckoned for Bruno to come over.

"Yusei Fudo, what's this...?" Bruno was very confused by Yūga Hōzumi's actions.

"Let's skip practice for today. If your mind isn't calm, no amount of repetition will help," Yūga Hōzumi said. That's right, he planned to try a little "talk-no-jutsu" and see if he could help the kid find some clarity.

"I'm sorry. I've let you down," Bruno said dejectedly.

"Why are you apologizing to me? The only one you should be disappointed in is yourself," Yūga Hōzumi said, taking off his helmet to reveal his signature crab-like hair.

"After all, I'm just passing through this world. I saw you had a great deal of talent and thought I'd give you a few pointers, that's all," Yūga Hōzumi bluffed.

"Passing through this world?" Bruno was completely baffled by his words.

"That's not important. Want to hear my story?" Yūga Hōzumi, still wearing the face of Yusei Fudo, sat down and began to speak.

Yūga Hōzumi planned to tell Bruno the story of how the Crab-Head Big Boss dominated the Satellite Sector. This kid thought he carried heavy burdens and had a tragic life? Could he possibly be more tragic than the Crab-Head, who lost his parents at birth and was then backstabbed by his best friend, who even stole his "wife," Stardust Dragon?

Soon, Bruno was deeply captivated by the story Yūga Hōzumi told.

Yūga Hōzumi quickly finished the tale of how the Crab-Head Big Boss, after becoming a Signer, quelled the once-every-5000-years rampage of the Earthbound Immortals and connected the Satellite Sector to the City Area with the Daedalus Bridge.

"What happened next?" Seeing Yūga Hōzumi pause his story, Bruno couldn't help but ask, "How did you learn Accel Synchro?"

"We'll save the rest for tomorrow," Yūga Hōzumi said, smiling as he stood up. "It's getting late. Let's ride. I'm going to show you the true way an Accel Synchro duelist fights."

"The true way of fighting?" Bruno was taken aback. "Then the Accel Synchro you showed me before..."

"That was just the introductory course," Yūga Hōzumi said. "Accel Synchro isn't so rigid."

With the story finished, Yūga Hōzumi began to address Bruno's second problem. After witnessing Jack's overwhelming power that day, Bruno's confidence had been shaken. Yūga Hōzumi had to make him understand the true, immense potential of Accel Synchro.

"Turbo Duel, Accelerate!" x2

Yūga Hōzumi and Bruno sped off, one after the other.

"My turn!" Yūga Hōzumi took the first move.

"I activate the effect of Junk Converter from my hand! By sending this card and one Tuner monster from my hand to the Graveyard, I can add one 'Synchron' monster from my Deck to my hand."

"I send this card and the Tuner monster, Glow-Up Bulb, from my hand to the Graveyard to add the Tuner monster Junk Synchron from my Deck to my hand!"

"Next, I summon Junk Synchron in Attack Position!"

"When this card is Normal Summoned, I can target one Level 2 or lower monster in my Graveyard! I Special Summon that monster in Defense Position with its effects negated."

"Revive, Junk Converter!"

"Now, I tune my Level 3 Junk Synchron with my Level 2 Junk Converter!"

[3+2=5]

"Clustering wishes will call out a new speed's horizon, become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Level 5! Junk Speeder!"

Junk Speeder ATK: 1800

"I activate Junk Speeder's effect! When this card is Synchro Summoned, I can Special Summon as many 'Synchron' Tuner monsters with different Levels as possible from my Deck in Defense Position!"

"Then, the effect of Junk Converter activates! Since this card was sent to the Graveyard as Synchro Material, I can target one Tuner in my Graveyard and Special Summon it in Defense Position."

"Revive! Junk Synchron!"

"And now, Junk Speeder's effect resolves."

"Appear!"

"Level 4, Accel Synchron!"

"Level 2, Fleur Synchron!"

"Level 5, Quickdraw Synchron!"

"I tune my Level 2 Fleur Synchron with my Level 5 Junk Speeder!"

[2+5=7]

"Clustering hope will illuminate a new future, become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! The Synchro Tuner monster, Level 7, Shooting Riser Dragon!"

From a shining path of starlight, a magnificent dragon emerged, flapping its wings. It had the same appearance as Shooting Star Dragon, but was a smaller version, and it came to rest by Yūga Hōzumi's side.

"When Shooting Riser Dragon is Synchro Summoned, I can send one monster with a lower Level than it from my Deck to the Graveyard! This card's Level is then reduced by that monster's Level."

"I'll send the Level 2 Speed Warrior to the Graveyard, reducing this card's level by 2!"

Shooting Riser Dragon LV: 7 → 5

"Next is the effect of Fleur Synchron, sent to the Graveyard as Synchro Material! I can Special Summon one Level 2 or lower monster from my hand!"

"Appear! Level Eater!"
