Chapter 30: The Man Who Knew Too Much
The night carried a strange heaviness.
Leo stood still, his mind stuck on one truth—
The man who was supposed to reveal information about Valley Lily and Silent Duchess…
was already dead.
His own family friend.
Killed before he could speak everything.
But Leo knew one thing—
"That information didn't die with him…"
Earlier That Day… (Flashback)
Before his death, the man had made one final move.
With trembling hands, he sent a message to someone.
Not to the police.
Not to any ruler.
But to a man who existed in the shadows.
A man who was never supposed to be involved again.
"They've returned… Valley Lily and Silent Duchess are active."
Message sent.
Moments later—
Death.
Present Time
Deep inside an abandoned estate…
Valley Lily and Silent Duchess entered silently.
"This place…" Valley Lily whispered, "it feels planned."
Silent Duchess nodded slightly.
"Because it is."
They moved further in—
Until they saw him.
A man sitting calmly on a chair in the center of the room.
Waiting.
As if this meeting was already decided.
He clapped slowly.
"I was wondering how long it would take."
Valley Lily's eyes sharpened.
"You knew we were coming?"
The man smiled.
"I was informed… just before your last target died."
Silence.
That confirmed it.
He was connected to the man they had already killed.
Silent Duchess stepped forward.
"Then you know why we're here."
"To kill me?" he chuckled.
"You're late for that."
Valley Lily frowned.
"What do you mean?"
The man leaned forward, his gaze piercing.
"You've already killed the one who was going to speak."
A pause.
"So tell me…"
His voice dropped.
"Are you here to finish the story… or to finally understand it?"
Something felt wrong.
Not danger—
Truth.
At the same time—
Leo suddenly stood up.
Jhosen looked at him.
"What happened?"
Leo's voice was low.
"He contacted someone before dying."
Jhosen frowned.
"Who?"
Leo's eyes darkened.
"Someone… who knows everything about them."
Back at the Estate
The man's eyes were now fixed on Valley Lily.
"You don't remember, do you?"
She stiffened.
"Remember what?"
He smiled faintly.
"Your real beginning."
Even Silent Duchess looked unsettled.
"That's not possible," she said coldly.
"We remember enough."
"Enough?" he repeated softly.
"No… you remember what you were allowed to remember."
The air turned heavy.
Then—
He dropped the truth.
"You weren't just trained…"
A pause.
"You were made."
Valley Lily's breath hitched.
"What are you saying?"
The man leaned back calmly.
"I'm saying… the reason you were sent here—"
His eyes gleamed.
"—is not to kill me."
Silence.
"Then why?" Silent Duchess asked.
And his answer came like a blade—
"To make sure… you never find out who you really are."
Everything froze.
The mission changed in that moment.
From assassination—
To revelation.
