Everyone was puzzled. Something felt off. This guy wasn't Yondu, was he? Had he been swapped out?
Suddenly, a yellow-skinned alien with feathers on his head pointed at a nearby spaceship.
"Look! That warship has the Inhumans' symbol! These Earthlings are actually Inhumans! Hehe! Get them!"
"Haha, Inhumans! Their superpowers are just average. Go, go, go!"
The aliens noticed. Inhumans? Sure, their individuals might be slightly stronger, but most were weak.
They rubbed their hands together, grinning, weapons drawn as they slowly approached Leo.
"Wait!"
Just as they neared, Leo called out.
"Hehe, kids, if you tell me where the Cosmic Orb is now, I can let you keep your corpse," Yondu said menacingly.
"Oh, really? So I'm going to die either way?" Leo smiled mysteriously. Bold, even on the verge of death.
"Well then, there's only one Cosmic Orb. You're so many—who should I give it to?"
"Should I give it to you? Him? Or whom?" Leo's smirk sowed discord instantly. The aliens instinctively pulled back, unsure.
He was right.
The Collector had offered billions of cosmic credits for the Cosmic Orb—a fortune enough to buy dozens of life-bearing planets.
Wealth moves hearts. Even brothers and fathers could fight to the death.
A single casual remark fractured the factions. They eyed each other warily, ready for a firefight.
"Everyone, don't fall for it! Don't be impulsive! This kid wants us to fight so he can slip away!"
Yondu, cunning as always, stepped forward to calm the crowd.
"Hehe, Yondu? How smart of you," Leo muttered, mocking him.
"Kid, stop talking nonsense. Hand over the Cosmic Orb!" Yondu cut straight to the point.
"Alright, fine. I'll give it to you! Who said Yondu's the biggest power in the Raiders?" Leo shrugged and casually threw a spherical object to Yondu at lightning speed.
They hadn't seen the Orb's true form yet. Chaos reigned; even Yondu couldn't explain clearly.
Everyone's gaze immediately shifted to Yondu.
"Everyone, don't fall for it! It's just a metal ball with no energy!" Yondu's blue face paled as dozens of eyes glared at him.
"Heh heh, Yondu, your words are like farts. Who doesn't know you're cunning?"
"Brothers, kill Yondu! We'll split the bounty!" The group drew weapons. Explanations were useless.
Energy rays flew chaotically across a few hundred meters. Yondu sought cover.
Using his Yaka Arrow, an omnipresent, life-reaping weapon, he fought back—but he was outnumbered.
After a few rounds, his position was exposed.
He realized all his subordinates were dead. Only Star-Lord had survived.
The Raiders organization, wiped out by a single sentence from Leo? Furious, Yondu glared at him like a man-eating beast.
"It's you! All of this is your fault!"
"Since I can't live today, neither can you!" Yondu roared, launching the Yaka Arrow at Leo's head. A fight to the death.
"Alas, why bother?" Leo waved casually. The Yaka Arrow froze mid-air, unmoving.
"You!!!" Yondu was shocked, having never seen such a thing.
Other aliens also stopped. The life-reaping Yaka Arrow was useless.
"Stupid aliens, don't you know the easiest way to deal with a glib-tongued opponent is to shut his mouth?" Leo mocked, scanning them disdainfully.
The stunned aliens finally realized the truth: Leo had been playing with them all along. He was far stronger than Yondu.
Yondu was infuriated. Glib-tongued? Playful? Looking down on him?
If a cold weapon like the Yaka Arrow couldn't hurt him, energy weapons wouldn't either.
Yondu raised his energy gun and fired furiously.
"Die for me!!!" He gritted his teeth, venting his anger and fear.
But when the energy rays came within a meter of Leo, they curved away like light bouncing off a mirror.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Several unlucky aliens exploded.
"F*ck! Damn it!!!" The rest were terrified. This was beyond comprehension.
They realized they had met their match. Without overwhelming force, they might all die.
"Brothers, full attack!"
"Go! If we fight among ourselves again, no one leaves today!" The Raiders united, abandoning individual tactics.
At that moment, the Nova Corps and Kree forces arrived.
Their planetary-class and stellar-class battleship cannons charged, aiming to obliterate the Raiders in one strike.
The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind it. These regular legions had been hiding in subspace, ready to close the net.
Now was their time. They didn't care about the Cosmic Orb's location. If the Raiders died, they'd search slowly. It couldn't escape Morag.
The sudden appearance of sky-covering warships, their dark muzzles fully charged, drove the Raiders to despair.
"That's the Nova Corps! The Kree!!!"
Buzz!! Buzz!!
In an instant, firepower engulfed everyone. Apocalypse had descended.
