Chapter 5 - THE CROWN BUILT ON SILENCE

The crowd in the Great Hall didn't leave all at once. Even after the meeting ended, people felt heavy because of the prophecy they had heard. Even though the prophecy was a lie, people believed it. Fear moved through the crowd like something invisible that nobody could escape. Some people walked with their heads down, worried about a future they couldn't control. Others whispered to each other, their voices shaking because they were so scared.

The vampires watched everything from above as the hall slowly emptied. They looked calm and acted like nothing important had happened. But they knew exactly what they were doing. They had planted fear in the people, and they were that the fear would grow on its own.

When the last of the gathering finally departed, the members of the Luminai Accord retuned to their private rooms. These rooms felt much more honest than the grand hall they had just left behind.

Once the doors were closed, they didn't have to act mightily anymore. They could talk freely about their next steps and plans.

At first, nobody said anything as they were all in deep thoughts.

Then Lucas spoke. "Fear isn't enough to keep the world stable," he said. "Fear makes people obey for a little while, but it doesn't build loyalty. We need something stronger to support it."

One of the men turned and crossed his arms while he thought. "Then we need to create a clear system of ranks and hierarchy," he said. "We should give the people something that won't change as time goes by."

Another man stepped forward with a serious look on his face. "We need a system that no one is allowed to question," he said. "It doesn't have to be perfect; it just has to stay the same forever."

The plan didn't happen all at once. It grew slowly as they talked, with each person adding an idea until they were all sure of what they had to do.

They decided to create a system that no one would question—a system that would last forever. "We will start a monarchy," they decided.

They wanted a king to be the face of power, while the Accord stayed in the shadows to lead the world. Lucas nodded. "People follow a crown better than a group of leaders," he said. "If we give them a strong ruler with iron fists, they won't think about rebelling."

Everyone in the room agreed. They had already changed the truth, and now they were ready to change how power worked. The next questions were obvious: Who would be the king or queen? Which family would become the royal family?

They looked at the most famous and wealthy families from the old days. They wanted a family that everyone respected, not just feared.

After much deliberation, they chose the Nightvale family. The Nightvales were very rich and had a long, strong history. They were natural leaders who already had a lot of influence.

Once the royal family was chosen, the leaders started to organize the rest of the powerful families. They picked fifteen of the richest families and called them "Noble Houses," giving each one responsibilities. This wasn't just a reward; it was a way to keep them under control. By giving these families power inside the new government, the Luminai accord made sure they wouldn't become a threat outside of it.

Soon, they began to build. They built a massive castle in the center of their land. They planned everything carefully, from where it was placed to how tall the towers were.

The castle and the buildings around it was meant to look huge and impressive to anyone who saw it. Its walls were perfectly made. Light reflected off its surfaces in a way that made it seem almost untouchable, while shadows gathered along its edges, giving it a presence that felt both beautiful and unsettling.

The castle wasn't just a place for the king to live. It was a reminder to everyone that the vampires were in power.

Underneath the beautiful buildings, they also built the Royal Archives. This was a place where they would keep all the records and stories about their world. This was a place that would be known to all vampires not other creatures, regardless of their standing

It held the history of their world, but the Luminai Accord, made sure only the information they wanted people to know was kept there. They used these records to control how all vampires thought about their past.

Deep beneath this library, they built a second, secret one called the Forbidden Royal Archive. Almost no one knew it existed. Only the Accord members and their chosen heirs could go inside, and even they couldn't see everything. In the deepest part of this secret place, they hid a very important scroll: the true prophecy.

This scroll could not be opened normally. It was locked with a special sentence in an old language that nobody spoke anymore. The sentence was:"Velmora noctis aethra, sanguis verum aperiet… sed memoria pereat."

And to ensure that this truth would remain hidden forever, the founders of the Luminai Accord made a final decision that would bind not only themselves, but the future.

They gathered in private and formed a blood pact.

Each of them stepped forward in turn, and without hesitation, they cut their palms and swore that the secret sentence would never be passed onto anyone, not even their own children .

They wanted the knowledge to die with them so the truth would stay buried.

As time went on, vampire society changed into three main groups.

At the top were the Pure-bloods. They were the strongest and fastest, and they drank human blood, a visible reminder to all other creatures of their dominance.

Below them were the middle-class vampires. They drank animal blood and were strong but not as or respected powerful as the Pure-bloods.

At the very bottom were the common vampires, who survived mostly on fruits and whatever they could gather. Their strength was the weakest, their abilities limited, and their place in society often overlooked.

Even though these groups were very different, the system worked because the leaders designed it that way. The monarch ruled from the center, supported by noble families and the Accord.

The whole world was built on a lie, while the real truth waited in the dark, silent and patient.
