Chapter 357 - 357: The Fall of Koluuga

"I completed my missions with everything I had, no matter how much I lost in the process."

Sinestro slowly continued his account, speaking of his time as a Green Lantern.

Back then, he had been one of the most powerful members of the Corps. His willpower was no weaker than Hal Jordan's. If his path had remained unchanged, the title of strongest Green Lantern might never have reached Hal at all.

"I never questioned the Guardians' orders. I never questioned their intentions. I did everything I could for their approval, even when it was meaningless and hollow."

He paused briefly before continuing.

"They made me believe I was a hero. But they never truly cared. To them, I was never a hero. Just a tool. A weapon to enforce their control over the universe."

"They assigned me a sector to protect, including my homeworld, Koluuga."

Sinestro's voice tightened slightly as he continued.

"When I returned with that power, I saw everything wrong with my world. And I realized I could fix it. That was when everything changed. That was when I understood my purpose."

Outside the containment room, Hal Jordan listened with a conflicted expression.

Sinestro had always been a complicated figure in his life. Someone he hated, yet could not fully dismiss. A man he wanted to strike down, yet also instinctively avoided.

John Stewart stood nearby, his posture rigid. One hand rested near the cell controls, while the other hovered close to his ring, ready to react instantly.

He did not trust Sinestro. Not in the slightest. No matter how convincing his words sounded.

Sinestro continued.

"I began fighting for a better future. I started rebuilding my world. I stopped protecting corrupt systems and began dismantling them one by one. And nowhere was more corrupt than our capital. It had rotted to its core."

His tone shifted as he recalled that time.

"I broke the governments that ruled us. The officials who had betrayed Koluuga for too long were removed."

Then his expression changed again, becoming more personal.

"Everything I did was for my daughter. For my wife, Arin. I wanted a world free of corruption and control. A world that existed for its people."

For a moment, his voice softened as he remembered.

"I still see her sometimes. My daughter, smiling while I carried her in my uniform… even when it was stained with blood."

He exhaled slowly.

"This is our new home, Solanique. The people who destroyed it are gone. Your father made sure of that."

Silence settled across the Justice Society Hall.

Even Adrian did not interrupt.

Finally, Mera spoke.

"What happened after that?"

Sinestro's expression darkened slightly.

"Some of the corrupt officials survived. My wife… she must have hidden my daughter when she saw them coming. At that time, I was not there. I was on another world, far from Koluuga."

His voice tightened again.

"The Guardians sent me away. While I was saving lives across the universe, my own family was left behind."

His fists clenched.

"And then they were taken from me. Arin died. The doctors could not even explain how. They could not explain anything."

"But I knew the truth."

His eyes sharpened.

"The exiled officials found a way to hurt me. My weakness. My humanity."

The air in the room grew heavier.

"I made them pay," he added quietly.

John Stewart's grip tightened slightly, but he remained silent.

"I admit it," Sinestro continued. "My revenge was brutal. But I did not stop serving Koluuga. I continued rebuilding it. I gave everything I had to my people."

Then his tone changed again.

"But then they turned on me."

His gaze shifted across the room, briefly passing Hal and John before settling on Adrian.

"The ones I trained. The ones I fought beside. They rose against me."

He stepped closer to the barrier.

"I tried to explain. I tried to reason with them. But it did not matter."

A cold edge entered his voice.

"They already decided I was a monster."

His eyes narrowed.

"And the one who took my ring from me… was the one I trusted most. My greatest student. My finest success."

He paused.

"That was the real betrayal."

Hal lowered his gaze slightly, unable to respond.

Sinestro's expression softened for a moment.

"I do not blame him," he added. "He was deceived, just like the others. The Guardians poison minds. They turn people into weapons without thought."

He turned fully toward Adrian.

"You will understand soon enough. They are coming for you. What you have done will not be ignored. You will be treated the same way I was."

Adrian remained silent, his brow still furrowed. He was clearly weighing every word, separating truth from manipulation.

John Stewart suddenly stepped forward.

"Oh, come on," he said sharply. "Are we really going to sit here and act like this is some tragic redemption story?"

He pointed toward Sinestro.

"This man is not some misunderstood hero. He made his choices. Nobody forced him to become what he is."

His eyes hardened.

"We cannot trust him."

Sinestro's lips curled slightly.

"I never asked for your trust."

His gaze returned to Adrian.

"But I do not want your destruction, Homelander. We share a common enemy."

His tone became more direct.

"I want revenge. That is all."

John scoffed.

"At least you're honest about being a problem."

Then he turned to the group.

"So what now? We keep him locked up. That is my vote."

A sudden shift filled the room.

Sinestro's expression changed.

Yellow energy flickered across his body as his ring activated. The atmosphere in the hall tightened instantly under the pressure of his power.

Then something impossible happened.

The containment barrier cracked under his presence, and in the next moment, Sinestro simply stepped through it.

Bart Allen's eyes widened in shock.

"No way… nobody gets out of these cells like that."

The system had been reinforced repeatedly by the Justice Society. It was built specifically to contain metahumans and alien threats.

Yet Sinestro walked free as if it meant nothing.

He moved straight toward John Stewart.

"You never understood what I am capable of," Sinestro said quietly.

He leaned in slightly.

"I can kill you whenever I choose, Green Lantern."

John did not back down.

"Then try."
