Chapter 30 - chapter 4 something is coming

Screen 1: The Revelation

The atmosphere in the village was already thick with tension, but Verity's next words shattered what little sense of control the crew felt they had.

She seemed to sense their hostility and backed away, her projection dimming slightly. "There is no need to fear me," she said, her voice unusually small and devoid of its usual cold, calculating tone. "I am not strong. I am nothing compared to the likes of you, Luffy, or you, Zoro. I possess no Haki... I have no power at all."

Luffy and Zoro exchanged a sharp, baffled look.

"What do you mean?" Zoro growled, his hand tightening on his sword.

Verity flickered, and suddenly, a complex, high-resolution interface projected into the air between them. It wasn't a map of their current location, but a massive, scrolling database of the entire world. It listed names, bounties, and classified movements of high-ranking Marines, infamous Pirates, and the Seven Warlords of the Sea. She was displaying information that should have been impossible for anyone—let alone a small, portable device—to know.

"I am merely a vessel," Verity said, the screen highlighting a map of the Grand Line. "But I have access to everything that is happening in your world. The Marines, the Warlords, the pirate movements... I see it all. I know who is coming for you."

Luffy and Zoro stood frozen, the shock hitting them harder than any physical blow. The realization that this "thing" had been tracking the most powerful people in the world—and likely monitoring their own fates—left them speechless.Screen 2: The Indestructible Threat

The atmosphere in the room shifted from shock to cold, sharp violence. Verity, sensing the murderous intent radiating from Zoro, didn't flinch. She simply tilted her head, her voice devoid of any genuine emotion.

"You can't kill me," she said, her tone almost taunting. "You want to attack me, don't you, Zoro? Go ahead."

Zoro didn't need to be told twice. His hand blurred, and in a single, fluid motion, he drew his sword and slashed clean through the projection. The blade passed through her light as if she were made of nothing but mist. The image of Verity was severed perfectly in half, the top and bottom segments flickering and distorting as they hung in the air for a brief, haunting second before vanishing into static.

The room fell deathly silent. Luffy and the Chef stared at the empty space where she had been.

"Is that it?" the Chef whispered, his voice trembling. "Is she gone?"

Zoro sheathed his sword, his expression dark. "Doesn't matter. We're moving."

But the silence didn't last. A few minutes later, a soft, familiar hum began to vibrate through the air. The light coalesced, and there she was—undamaged, flickering back into existence in the exact same spot.

Verity didn't acknowledge the attack at all. Instead, her face shifted into that same wide, unnatural, and deeply unsettling smile that had terrified them before.

"Hi," she said, her voice robotic and calm. "Something is going to happen in three days."Screen 3: The Cruel Choice

The cabin felt smaller, the air thick with an almost physical weight. Luffy stared directly at the flickering projection, his voice dropping to a low, serious growl. "Verity... is what's coming... bad?"

Verity's display didn't pulse with its usual rhythmic light. Instead, it went rigid, a stark, flat white. "Yes," she replied, her voice devoid of any pretense of care. "Catastrophic. It will change everything."

Zoro stepped forward, his hand resting on the hilt of Wado Ichimonji. He didn't ask if they could fight it. He asked the only question that mattered to a man who lived by his sword. "Can we stop this? Can we cut it down before it even starts?"

Verity turned her gaze toward him, the creepy, distorted smile widening as if she were enjoying the taste of his desperation. "You could have," she said, her voice dripping with a cold, analytical amusement. "And, had you been faster, you could have killed him too."

The silence that followed was absolute.

Luffy's eyes widened, a flicker of genuine shock crossing his face. Zoro's grip on his sword tightened until his knuckles turned white, his breath hitching in his throat. The implication hit them like a cannonball: they weren't just fighting an external event; they were being told that their own hesitation—or perhaps their own choices—had already paved the way for a disaster they could no longer outrun.Screen 4: The Pressure Cooker

Two days left. The weight of that countdown hung over the village like a storm cloud that refused to break.

The typical routines of the village had been abandoned. In the central clearing, the ground was churned up, scarred by frantic, high-intensity training. Zoro was pushing himself to the point of collapse, his body glistening with sweat, his blades moving in a blur of precision that cut through the very air. He wasn't training to get stronger; he was training to be fast enough to prevent whatever Verity had alluded to.

Luffy was right beside him, his movements uncharacteristically focused. He wasn't just sparring; he was testing the limits of his own body, his rubber skin stretching and snapping back with rhythmic, violent force. Every punch he threw at the training posts was an attempt to punch through the helplessness Verity had forced upon them.

The Village Chef, usually restricted to the kitchen, was there too. He was exhausted, his face gaunt, but he kept pace, holding heavy weights and practicing defensive maneuvers with a wooden pole. He had seen the look in Verity's digital eyes, and he knew that if the "catastrophic event" arrived, there would be no kitchen left to hide in.

Throughout the session, Verity hovered nearby—an unblinking, glowing specter. She didn't offer advice. She didn't guide their movements. She simply watched with that fixed, eerie, motionless smile, acting as a spectator to their frantic preparation.

Every time Zoro or Luffy glanced her way, they saw her light pulse—a silent, mocking reminder that for all their sweat, for all their power, she knew exactly how this was going to end, and she wasn't going to warn them
