"Oh? Hunting dogs?" Shojo said coldly. "Since you've come knocking, don't blame us for showing no mercy."
Ape added, "Don't underestimate the Ape Mountain United Army!"
"Everyone, attack!" Bellamy's crew immediately drew their swords and charged forward.
Bellamy's Vice Captain, Sarkiss, stepped up to Cricket. "Hand over the gold ingots quietly, or you'll regret it."
Sarkiss struck first, punching rapidly at Cricket's face, but Cricket skillfully blocked each blow.
Then, finding an opening as Sarkiss pulled his fist back, Cricket kicked him square in the chin — sending him flying backward.
Sandy, watching from the sidelines, raised an eyebrow. The guy with a 38 million Belly bounty just lost in hand-to-hand combat?
"Ape Beatdown!" Shojo and Ape roared as they instantly took down several of Bellamy's lackeys.
At that moment, Sarkiss drew his machete — his true skill was swordsmanship.
He spun the blade quickly, the air whistling with each turn. Then, with a sudden leap, he slashed down diagonally — aiming to finish Cricket in one blow.
But before the strike landed, Cricket kicked Sarkiss's wrist. The machete flew out of his hand, clattering across the ground.
Sandy whistled. "Uncle, sugoi..."
"You scared me!" Shojo yelped, clutching his chest. "You bastard, talk softer next time — I nearly had a heart attack!"
Cricket glanced at Sandy, then turned to Sarkiss. "Stupid brat, it's dangerous swinging that big sword around everywhere."
"Slurp..." Bellamy, standing nearby, licked his lips and smirked. "Alright... the most exciting performance of the night is about to begin."
"Spring Snipe!"
Bellamy's legs turned into springs as he shot forward. The ground cracked beneath his power. His speed was incredible — in an instant, Shojo and Ape were both knocked out cold.
Sandy's Observation Haki flared. Bellamy was going to use his Spring Devil Fruit power to leap off the Going Merry itself!
If Bellamy landed on the ship, it would break apart!
"Spring Snipe!!"
Bellamy launched himself high into the air, aiming to strike Cricket down.
But before his attack could land —
"Whoosh..."
Sandy vanished.
In the next instant, everyone froze. Sandy stood there, gripping Bellamy by the neck with one hand.
Cricket's cigarette dropped from his mouth in shock. That speed — he hadn't even seen him move!
Sarkiss stood frozen, machete trembling in his hand. "No way... what was that?"
"Hey!" Sarkiss shouted desperately. "Bellamy, don't joke around! This isn't funny!"
"Ah!" One of the female crewmates fell to the ground, trembling. "He just... appeared out of nowhere!"
"Cough... cough..." Bellamy wheezed. "Let... go of me..."
Ignoring him, Sandy said coldly, "Does it feel special to steal treasures that others risked their lives for? Answer me."
Bellamy coughed again. "How... how did you keep up with my speed?!"
Sandy turned toward Cricket. "Uncle, this guy came to rob you. How do you want to handle them?"
Cricket looked down at the unconscious Shojo and Ape and said calmly, "Let them go."
Sandy sighed. "You're too nice. You don't even want medical expenses?"
He glanced at the terrified Bellamy Pirates and finally released Bellamy, drawing his sword — High Wind.
"If it were my old temper, you'd be fish food by now," Sandy said flatly. "Self-righteous Pirates like you... are just too low-level."
"Clang..."
He swung his blade toward the sea.
"Boom..."
A thunderous explosion echoed as the ocean itself split apart, a massive wave rolling into the night sky.
The Bellamy Pirates froze in horror.
"Wh–what is that?! That's not human!"
"The Sea... he cut the Sea!!"
Terrified, the crew scattered in all directions, tripping over each other in their panic to escape.
But Bellamy didn't move. He stood staring blankly at the shattered sea.
"Someone like you," Bellamy said hoarsely, "how could you be in the East Blue?"
Sandy turned his back. "I'm not in the mood to answer you. If you ever come after Cricket again — or steal from him — I'll hunt you down and end you myself. Now get lost. Or are you waiting for me to serve you a midnight snack?"
Bellamy stood frozen, his chest heavy.
For the first time, Sandy's words struck something deep inside him — humiliation, fear... and awakening.
Finally, he asked quietly, "Storm... D. Sandy... does Skypiea really exist?"
Sandy stopped and turned his head slightly. "Whether it exists or not, go find out yourself — instead of beating up those who believe in it like a damn thug. I have a terrible impression of you. Get lost."
Sarkiss grabbed Bellamy's arm in a panic. "Are you insane?! Let's go! I never want to see that monster again!"
The Bellamy Pirates scrambled back to their ship and vanished into the dark sea.
From that night on, Bellamy grew quiet. He began to question everything — his pride, his strength, his beliefs.
Was he really just a low-level Pirate? Did Skypiea truly exist?
And what did it mean... to be a real Pirate?
A change began within him.
As for Sandy, he didn't care. What bothered him more was that one day, Bellamy would decide that he was the man to follow...
After Bellamy's crew left, Sandy and Cricket carried Shojo and Ape back inside.
Looking at the two regaining consciousness, Sandy sighed. "You two are real beasts, you know that?"
Shojo patted his chest. "That scared me half to death. Didn't think we'd go down in one hit. But hey, thanks for saving us."
Sandy rolled his eyes. "I didn't save you. I just didn't want my ship damaged."
Ape laughed, throwing an arm around Sandy's shoulder. "Just admit it, kid. Thanks, haha!"
"Don't get all touchy, old man. Let go already!"
Cricket smirked from the side. "You guys alright? Then let's get started on modifying their ship."
"No problem, Boss!" Shojo and Ape replied in unison.
