Chapter 408: Phantom-3 - Flotation Armor (2)
The Banshee's Last Attack
From a distance, Linda shouted,
"Be careful! She can turn invisible!"
Luke curled his lip in disdain, leaped into the air, and kicked at empty space. With a muffled roar, a shimmering figure materialized—it was the concealed Crone.
"How is that possible? You can see me!"
The magic she used was no ordinary trick; it was an extremely high-level Void Magic. Once she vanished, no one should have been able to find her.
Luke didn't bother to explain. He grabbed one of her wings and forcefully ripped it apart.
Tear!
Blood sprayed out as the pair of demonic wings were brutally torn from her body.
The Crone screamed in agony, her eyes turning blood-red. She pressed her tongue down and let loose a sound:
AHHHHHHH!!!!
A piercing, high-pitched scream erupted in the sky. The air rippled, sending out huge, visible waves of shock. The impact layers spread out like an ocean swell, shattering rocks, churning the tides, and pulverizing stones into fine particles.
Banshee's Wail!
Siobhan's face changed drastically.
"Get down! Cover your ears!"
The Banshee's Wail was the exclusive, most powerful ability of the Helltouched Banshees. It was an indiscriminate attack. The high-frequency oscillating atmospheric particles could destroy almost anything they encountered.
Cape Villa suffered its second devastation. Brick walls crumbled into dust under the shockwaves, and the ground was scraped clean, clearly revealing the alloy steel protecting the underground base.
"Die, human!"
The Crone stopped screaming and unleashed a full-power wail aimed directly at the nearby Luke.
The air seemed to hang in an eerie state of suspension. A swirling sonic torrent shot out, striking Luke with a force capable of twisting reality.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
The red armor roared. Every micro-particle was in motion, twisting in a bizarre way to form a red energy cyclone. When the sonic wave hit it, it was like mud falling into the sea, vanishing instantly without a trace.
Luke stood right in the center of the sonic wave, surrounded by churning air currents, yet he remained completely unharmed. He even raised his hand to scratch his brow.
"Ava, how's the integrity holding up?"
"Forty percent remaining."
"Looks like we're fine."
The sonic torrent finally faded after ten agonizing seconds.
Linda uncovered her ears, looking tensely at the sky. Under the clear moonlight, the red armor looked like a burning ball of fire. It had grown slightly larger, and every particle on it seemed to be glowing intensely.
"He's fine?"
Siobhan's eyes were wide with disbelief. She had witnessed the sheer destructive power of the Wail—a force that nearly crushed her—yet the man before her was completely unaffected.
"Linda, your boyfriend is too strong!"
Linda moved her mouth, mumbling,
"He... he's actually just a regular guy!"
Siobhan was speechless.

Victory and the Aftermath
"Eighty-three point four percent."
High in the sky, Luke meticulously sensed the changes in the armor. He could have completely avoided that last attack, but he endured it to test the armor's performance.
The full name of the red armor was Phantom-3: Flotation Armor.
It wasn't merely an upgrade of the Phantom-1; it was a new type of armor Luke created using Mother Box technology, possessing extremely powerful, era-defining performance.
It retained the kinetic energy absorption capability of Phantom-1, but its ceiling was significantly higher. Exactly how high still required further testing.
"You're only seventeen percent away from breaking through the armor's defense and damaging me."
Luke looked up, staring calmly ahead.
"Do you have any other moves? Feel free to use them all."
The Crone stood there dumbfounded, her cheek twitching. It took her a moment to process his words.
"You... you're fine?"
"Of course. You can scream again. I'm perfectly alright."
The Crone fell silent. All her shock, humiliation, and murderous intent instantly transformed into terror. She was afraid. She wanted to run, to flee far, far away.
"You want to run again!"
The Crone snapped her head up, staring intensely at Luke. "You can read my mind."
"No. I sense your fear. A mighty Demon Lord of Hell feels fear. It turns out the truly terrifying thing is the unknown. You're nothing special after all."
"Since you're running, let me give you a send-off."
Luke stepped forward, appearing instantly before the Crone. He reached out with his right hand and grabbed her by the neck. His left index finger moved forward, light emanating from the tip.
"Your power, returned to you!"
A massive pillar of light, like a miniature sun, shot from his fingertip, crushing the Crone's head before vanishing into the sky.
As the light pillar shot out, the Flotation Armor returned to its previous state.
Luke landed on the hillside and casually dropped the headless body onto the ground.
"Put this in the basement."
He then turned and walked away.
"Where are you going?"
"To find a place to sleep!"
The husky voice drifted back, and the figure had already vanished.
With the Crone's death, Siobhan also changed. The black crescent mark on her face began to fade, and her skin and hair returned from pale to normal color.
She touched her body all over, and after feeling the familiar softness everywhere, she excitedly hugged Linda.
"I'm back! I changed back!"
"The curse is gone! I'm not a monster anymore, Linda! I'm not a monster!"
Linda was happy for her friend and hugged her back, but after a moment, she realized something was wrong.
"Siobhan, you're not wearing any clothes."
The girl instantly realized her state, covering her vital areas while saying awkwardly,
"I'm... I'm used to it."
Linda shook her head and found some shredded clothes for her. The two friends stood on the hillside, quietly looking at the ruins of Cape Villa, unsure what to say.
A beautiful house, built less than two years ago, was utterly destroyed.
And all those fresh ingredients!
What a waste.
