Chapter 411: The Sneaky Mermaid
The Wisdom of the Ancients
The words of the ancients hold great philosophy: "There are only oxen exhausted from plowing, but no field ruined by it."
Luke, having lived two lifetimes, finally understood the deep meaning of this phrase. Carol, renowned for her elegance and intellect, transformed into a sexy little imp the moment she shed her clothes. She perfectly blended the two contrasting styles, exuding infinite charm.
In her presence, Luke was virtually defenseless, easily driven wild by a slight provocation. And yet, she was endlessly enthusiastic, constantly wearing sexy lingerie and parading in front of him whenever the opportunity arose.
Her smooth, taut skin glistened in the sunlight, her long legs, rounded hips, slender waist, and high bust outlining the perfect figure.
The girl was currently in the prime of her life, radiating allure with every glance and smile.
What man could resist such a beauty? The two were like thunder striking dry earth; for half of their twenty-four-hour day, they were engaged in "communication."
After eating the fruit gifted by the Swamp Creature, Luke's physical constitution had surpassed that of a normal person, reaching a superhuman level. Yet, after several days, he couldn't escape the soreness in his legs and general physical exhaustion.
"The words of the ancients are truly correct."
"What words?"
"Nothing."
Luke pulled the girl into his arms, rubbing her smooth back back and forth, savoring the beautiful moment.
Sunlight filtered through the clouds, casting a captivating halo over the two of them.
This was the tenth day of their world cruise. The yacht had reached the vicinity of the equator and was sailing toward Ecuador. They would arrive at their first resupply point in a few more days.
"How do you feel today?"
"Much better. I can control myself; I won't go crazy again."
"Oh really?"
Carol smiled slyly, her index finger tracing a path down from his navel, inadvertently reaching the edge of his shorts.
"But why do I feel like it is expressing dissatisfaction?"
Luke grabbed her persistently teasing hand and gave a wry smile.
"The landlord's house is out of surplus grain; the workers need a break."
"Alright, then. I'll give it the day off."
Carol turned her body, found a comfortable position, and soon drifted off to sleep.
Gazing at the girl so close to him, Luke felt a deep sense of contentment. Carol was unique; her love was fervent and pure, untainted by any impurities. When he was with her, Luke felt no need to engage his brain.
There was a reason the Star Sapphires chose her as their queen.
"Young Master!"
Butler No. 1 appeared behind him and whispered, "We are being followed."
"Oh?"
Luke raised an eyebrow, carefully placed Carol onto a lounge chair, and followed Butler No. 1 to the captain's room.
The sonar screen displayed a highlighted red dot twenty meters beneath the yacht's eastern side.
"That's it. It's been following us for half an hour now."
"Who is it?"
"Unclear. The yacht is not equipped with relevant underwater sensing devices."
Luke was silent for a few seconds before speaking.
"Reverse course and head west."
"Understood."
The yacht turned and sailed in the direction they had come from. The "thing" hidden underwater also began to move, following them unhurriedly, showing no intention of leaving.
Butler No. 1 suggested,
"Should we fire a torpedo?"
Luke shook his head slightly. "Where are we right now?"
"98.96W, 1.11N."
"What's the weather like?"
"No sign of rain in the near future."
"Very good."
Luke stretched his shoulders. "It's been a while since I've been diving. Since I have the time today, I'll go down and have a look."
Based on the data from the detection equipment, the entity underwater was likely some kind of intelligent life form.
Underwater and intelligent.
The two combined brought Atlantis to mind. Luke had always been curious about this race. Since he encountered one today, it was a perfect chance to get acquainted.
After preparing, Luke, wearing the Flotation Armor, leaped into the ocean. An invisible field separated the surrounding seawater, and blue currents shot from his feet, propelling him downward.
The aquatic creature seemed unwilling to reveal itself. Seeing Luke appear, it immediately turned and tried to flee.
"Trying to run? Not so easy!"
Boom!
An invisible shockwave exploded in the water. A red light pierced through the seawater, and in a flash, the Flotation Armor abruptly appeared in front of the creature like a ghost.
Upon close contact, he finally got a clear look at its appearance.
Silver-gray armor encased its body. Judging by the build, it was a woman. She held a trident in her hand and was riding a giant creature similar to a seahorse.
"It is Atlantean, and a woman at that."
Without a word, Luke knocked her unconscious and hoisted her onto his back. The Flotation Armor carried them both out of the water and landed on the deck.
Carol raised her head, looking at him quizzically.
"What are you doing?"
"I caught a mermaid."
Luke placed the person on his back down on the deck. The Flotation Armor detached from his body, turning into a sphere of liquid metal suspended nearby.
Carol put on a sarong to cover herself and walked over, asking curiously,
"Who is she?"
"Have you heard of Atlantis?"
"Isn't that just a myth?"
Luke chuckled. "Today, I'll let you witness it."
He reached out and removed her helmet, revealing a female face strikingly similar to a human's. Perhaps due to her life spent deep underwater, her skin was extremely pale, almost unnaturally smooth.
"Are you sure she's Atlantean?"
"She was following us underwater, and she's riding a sea creature similar to a wild horse. Aside from the Atlantean race who live beneath the sea, it could be no one else. The fishing boat attack in the Atlantic last year was also the work of Atlanteans."
"Alright, then."
Carol shrugged. "How do you plan to deal with this... Miss Atlantean? Are you going to take her on a world tour with us?"
Luke snapped his fingers.
"Wake her up!"
Butler No. 1 stepped forward. Current sparked from its finger, which gently touched the woman. Stimulated by the strong electric current, she instantly regained consciousness and immediately began a stream of completely unintelligible chirping.
Judging by her expression, she seemed to be making accusations or demanding answers.
Luke cleared his throat. "Beautiful lady, can you speak any surface language? Chinese, English, Japanese, French, German..."
He tried a dozen languages, but she had no reaction.
Seeing this, Luke shook his head in disappointment.
"It seems we can't communicate."
Carol rolled her eyes. "Then why did you bring her up?"
"This lady has been sneakily following the yacht. For our safety, I had no choice but to knock her out first."
"No. 1, lock her in the storage room. Remember to provide water. Atlantean physiology is similar to fish; they can't survive long without water."
Language was the greatest barrier between the species.
The furious Chloe could only crawl on the ground as two robots forcibly stripped off her armor and tied her up like a mummy before sending her into the yacht's storage room.
She tried to resist, but she couldn't summon her strength. Every time she exerted force, she was hit with an electric shock. The powerful current stimulated her body, making her twitch violently.
Despicable human! Just as the rumors said—so barbaric!
It was laughable that such a primitive, ignorant race could become the rulers of the surface world.
