In the outside world, the war was getting deadlier by the second.
The battlefield had become a graveyard of broken earth and endless smoke, craters pockmarking the ground like open wounds, forests reduced to smoldering stumps, rivers running thick and red.
The sky churned with black clouds that never parted; lightning cracked silently overhead, illuminating flashes of combat in stark white bursts.
The air stank of smoke, scorched flesh, blood-soaked dirt, and the metallic bite of weapons clashing without end.
Kabuto's Edo Tensei had turned history into a weapon. Kage rose again, well-renowned and dangerous ninja returned in droves: Zabuza's mist swallowing entire squads, Haku's ice mirrors reflecting screams. Even close friends and comrades were revived—familiar faces twisted into blank, obedient masks, forcing allies to fight the people they'd once mourned.
At first, they tried to kill them, steel clashing against immortal flesh, jutsu exploding in brilliant cascades—but the dead kept rising, bodies knitting back together with sickening speed. No matter how many times they were cut down, they stood again.
So they adapted.
A sealing technique was born, simple, elegant, taught in frantic minutes across the ranks. No complex hand seals, just a single red paper pressed to the enemy's chest or forehead, chakra flowing in a precise pattern.
Once sealed, they were gone for good. The battlefield shifted: instead of killing, they captured, sealing legends and monsters alike.
The sun slowly dipped—horizon bleeding orange and violet—casting long shadows across the broken land as the fighting stretched into dusk.
Far above, the turtle reached the Cloud Village.
Its massive shadow fell over the rocky peaks and floating platforms—shell blotting out the sky like a second moon. Waves churned violently below as the ancient beast descended—slow, majestic—spikes glinting white against the dying light.
The Cloud ninja on the cliffs and bridges watched in stunned silence—some dropping to their knees, others raising weapons instinctively—until the turtle settled gently into a wide bay, water surging around its shell in white-capped waves.
Inside one of the stone temples carved into the shell, Naruto got up and stretched—arms reaching high overhead, spine popping in a satisfying line from neck to tailbone.
His jacket hung open; muscles shifted under his shirt as he rolled his shoulders once, twice.
'Alright… time to go,' he thought.
He began walking out the temple—boots echoing softly on the cool stone floor, jacket swaying with each step. The open archway ahead framed the endless ocean and dark clouds beyond, wind whistling through the gaps in the shell's spikes like a low, mournful tune.
On his way out, Naruto was met with a couple of ninja standing in his way—four Kumogakure shinobi, two men and two women, all in full combat gear: flak jackets, forehead protectors gleaming, weapons sheathed but hands hovering near hilts. They formed a loose line across the path—shoulders squared, expressions hard.
"Come on, guys," Naruto said, voice calm, almost friendly. "Let's not do this."
He continued to walk—slow, unhurried—hands still in his pockets.
They stood their ground—boots planted, chakra flaring faintly around them in warning.
"You're not allowed to leave, Naruto," the lead ninja said—tall, scarred, voice firm. "This command comes strictly from Lady Tsunade and the rest of the Kage. Disobeying us would be treason."
Naruto sighed—long, tired—then turned his head slightly.
Bee was approaching from behind—sunglasses glinting, swords clinking softly against his back, lips already moving in silent rhyme. He stopped beside Naruto, arms crossed, towering presence relaxed but ready.
"Can you believe this lot?" Naruto asked, pointing lazily at the blocking ninja with his chin.
"I don't, ya fool," Bee replied in his usual swagger—deep voice rolling like distant thunder, grin flashing white against dark skin.
"Alright," Naruto said, shrugging. "If you say so."
In a blink of an eye, his figure completely vanished in a flicker—air rushing to fill the sudden void. The Kumogakure ninja blinked hands still raised—then cursed as they realized he was gone.
Outside on the white pillar, Naruto appeared—standing atop one of the massive spikes, wind whipping his jacket open, hair fluttering wildly.
He'd left a small Flying Raijin seal earlier. He smiled—then took a single, slow breath.
Sage Mode ignited—eyes shifting to orange with black cross pupils, red markings spreading across his face like war paint, natural energy flooding his system in a cool rush.
The world sharpened instantly—colors brighter, sounds clearer, every chakra signature across the continent blooming in his mind like distant stars.
He could now sense everything around the world—most specifically, where the war was.
The battlefield pulsed in his perception—chaotic, massive, alive with clashing chakra: Alliance sealing teams moving in synchronized patterns, explosions of jutsu lighting up the horizon like fireworks.
'Damn… they're getting active. Tomorrow Madara pulls up. Can't wait for that.' He exhaled slowly. 'For now… let's make a cool entrance.'
He could see the barrier surrounding the turtle island clearly now—a massive dome of shimmering chakra that rose high into the sky like a translucent wall of light. The surface rippled faintly, almost like water disturbed by wind, layers of sealing formulas flowing across it in intricate patterns.
It had been carefully constructed by the ninja stationed outside the island, a powerful containment barrier meant to keep both him and Bee from leaving.
Even from where he stood, Naruto could feel the chakra embedded in it. It was dense, reinforced by multiple shinobi working together, designed not just to block entry but to trap anyone inside. The kind of barrier that constantly repaired itself the moment it was damaged.
Bee came out soon after, stepping onto the clearing with his usual relaxed swagger, sunglasses glinting under the sunlight. His shoulders rolled loosely as if he had just finished warming up.
Naruto's eyes remained fixed on the barrier, the faint golden glow of Sage Mode reflecting within them.
He could already sense the shinobi stationed outside maintaining it—dozens of chakra signatures connected to the structure like threads holding a giant net together.
Before Bee could say anything, Naruto suddenly bent his knees slightly.
The ground beneath his sandals cracked. Naruto bursted forward in great speed.
The moment he moved, it was like a flash of yellow lightning tearing across the clearing. Wind exploded outward from his starting point, leaves and dust whipping violently into the air.
Bee looked up just in time to see Naruto streaking toward the barrier.
"Whoa—!"
Naruto reached it in a blink.
Bee watched as Naruto's figure slammed directly into the glowing wall.
Bee looked up seeing Naruto as he crashed into the barrier. It was a powerful one. One that could regenerate quick.
The moment Naruto's body struck it, the barrier flared violently. Sealing symbols lit up across its entire surface, chakra surging as it attempted to absorb the impact.
Cracks spiderwebbed across the barrier for a split second before instantly beginning to repair themselves.
But Naruto was much quicker.
His fist drove forward again before the barrier could fully recover, chakra surging around him like a blazing storm. The sheer force behind the blow warped the air.
CRASH!
The barrier shattered under his power.
The glowing dome fractured like glass struck by a hammer. Jagged cracks spread outward in every direction before the entire structure exploded into fragments of fading chakra.
Pieces of the barrier dissolved into glowing particles that scattered through the air before vanishing. Completely breaking, falling apart even.
The massive containment dome that had surrounded the island moments ago simply ceased to exist.
Outside the barrier, several ninja who had been maintaining the technique staggered as the chakra connection snapped violently. Some dropped to one knee while others stared in disbelief.
As Naruto was set free.
Naruto landed lightly on the ground outside the barrier, brushing a bit of dust off his sleeve as if he had simply stepped through a curtain instead of destroying a high-level sealing technique.
He saw the ninja who had the barrier up and smiled at them.
Most of them stood frozen, wide-eyed, clearly unsure whether they should attempt to stop him or simply accept what had just happened.
Naruto raised a hand casually.
"Yo," he greeted them.
A few of the ninja exchanged glances. One of them opened his mouth as if about to say something, but then hesitated.
The chakra they had just felt from that single strike made it painfully clear how pointless it would be.
They didn't even bother stopping Naruto as he walked away.
Bee landed beside him a moment later with a heavy thud, dust puffing slightly beneath his feet. He glanced back once at the shattered remnants of the barrier before shaking his head with a grin.
"Man, that was clean," Bee chuckled. He rolled his shoulders and fell into step beside Naruto. "Let's go, ya fool."
Naruto smirked slightly.
"Yeah, let's see if you can keep up," Naruto said.
Bee laughed loudly, adjusting his sunglasses.
"As if you could beat me, fool!"
The next moment, both of them leaned forward. Chakra surged beneath their feet.
The ground cracked as the two jinchūriki launched themselves forward.
Bee laughed as the two bursted forward with great speed.
They shot across the landscape like twin comets, wind roaring past them as the rocky terrain blurred into streaks of brown.
