"Yes, you're right..." Athena conceded. "It was quite a statement. Living true to the Devil nickname. No one else will think about going to that old witch or crossing Ares again."
I released a breath. "Yes."
That was the only reason I sent those names to Ares. I counted on his effective response to that message, and it gained as I hoped. Now, there were no more leeches around him.
"I need you, Athena. For this to work, I need you."
There was still more I had to do. This wasn't over yet, not by a long shot.
"God, when did you become so stubborn? I suppose you've always been, but this is directed towards me this time. It's annoying, sexy, but annoying."
I smiled, knowing she would come around.
"Athena..." I said softly.
"I did promise I'd be by your side no matter what. Besides, you'd be lost without me, and not in a chance in hell am I gonna let that happen. I told you, I'm your bestie, your best bestie."
