After he had completed it, he told his grandfather and his grandfather replied, "Now you're done warming up you now have to move on to something a lot harder for someone of your calibre. Show me your mana core."
"Grandad what? Warm up! That weren't no warmup, that was diffic... Wait. I wasn't tired at all, after doing the squats and press ups. It was only after the sit ups where I felt tired."
"Well Ezekiel, that is because when you have a Seishin your strength is enhanced and your speed is increased, but since you only recently awakened your mana manipulation will be quite bad." Ezekiel's Grandfather replied. "Ezekiel watch this." WHOOSH! From his hand appeared a gold-coloured circle.
"What's that?" Ezekiel asked.
"My mana core. Well, it's a fraction of it, but still, you need to be able to do that." Ezekiel's grandfather replied.
"Is mine going to be gold as well," Ezekiel asked.
"No but in time it will. The colours work the same like with the Seishin, yellow as the weakest, pink then green then orange then blue then purple then brown then red then bronze, silver and Gold, then white and black are Iroai, but unlike the Seishin they are not as rare, it just takes hard work." Ezekiel's Grandfather explained.
Ezekiel went back to the training area to practice mana manipulation so he could make his mana core appear. He sat down and meditated, so he had total concentration. "Boy, I must admit you show promise. We could actually get places, but that is all dependent on if you're able to manipulate mana. Remember this is a partnership so if you fail, we both fail, and I hate failing. SO, BOY DON'T FAIL! Think about all the hardships in your life up until this point. You can either let your hardships be in vain or you can... No. WE. We can devour this together. I Shinka, Seishin of the Fushigi Ezekiel, vowel to help you in any way possible to give your life purpose and make it meaningful. You were given an opportunity, so don't waste it Boy. No. Not boy. Ezekiel!" Ezekiel then concentrated really hard. Mind clear as ice. His heart beating so peacefully and perfectly in a rhythm. As he exhaled, the air around him became motionless, yet he could still breathe. Then Ezekiel sat still for a moment. He looked deep within himself and saw it. His mana core. He had begun his first step to mana manipulation. "I did it Shin Shin" "I don't care, your mana core is only yellow, so you're still weak and useless." "Drop the act. I know your happy. Oh yeah. You called me Ezekiel for the first time earlier." "Boy, you must've been hearing things. Lets just pretend nothing happened." "On one condition." "What is it?" "You have to honour your vowel to me." "Alright Ezekiel." "See what I mean? You just said it again." "I don't know what your talking about, maybe your tired and imagining things."
A few hours later, Ezekiel showed his grandfather his mana core. His grandfather was impressed and then told him to work on his mana manipulation so his colours could evolve. Ezekiel continued with his training and went to the field to run. Ezekiel was amazed at how large the field was. There were acres of space. He began with a light jog. He then realised that he was moving very fast. Then remembered his grandfather's words. "Fushigi get speed enhancement," Ezekiel kept on running for ten minutes and was astonished how fast he was moving. Then as he stopped running, he thought to himself, "why am I not tired?" "Because I am Shinka." "What does that mean you're still yellow?" "Boy, you are so naïve."
"Ezekiel come here." his grandfather shouted. Ezekiel went to his grandfather. He followed him to the dining room, astonished he looked around. Ezekiel was from a wealthy family, but his grandfather's dining room was tremendously large. There was a polished dark oak wood table at the centre of the dining room, with gold at the corners of it. Tall wooden chairs with velvet cushions on them with gold stitching. There was a clear glass chandelier dangling from the white celling. His feet were cold because of the marble floor. The meal consisted of three courses. As a starter there was, dumplings, olives and chicken wings. Then the main course with dice watermelon in a stew, sweet and sour chicken and white rice. Then as their desert they had red velvet cake. Then Ezekiel grandfather spoke to Ezekiel, "Did you like the food?"
"Yeah, it was very tasty," Ezekiel replied.
"YEAH WHO!? Well don't get used to it," his grandfather exclaimed. "From now on you have to fend for yourself and hunt and get your own food and cook your own food. I will be eating like this everyday. However, you my Grandson might not be able to eat at all."
"Why do I have to hunt for my food," Ezekiel asked.
"Training," his grandfather replied. "Now don't you dare even think about arguing with me! You understand?"
"Yes," Ezekiel said quietly.
"Yes who?" His grandfather shouted.
"Yes sir," Ezekiel replied politely.
"But where am I supposed to hunt down my food?" Ezekiel asked.
"There was lots of wildlife in the garden out back." Ezekiel's grandfather replied.
"I didn't see any there. I only saw a couple of fish, frogs and bugs." Ezekiel replied.
"That's more than enough. You should have no problems then." Ezekiel's grandfather said. "I will be gone for a couple of days. The servants will be here to help you if you need it and my word of advise to you is to start looking for food now."
"Fine." Ezekiel replied. "Please can I be excused from the table?"
"Yes, you can." Ezekiel's grandfather said.
Ezekiel got up from the table and made it look like he was going outside to hunt for food, but in reality he snuck back to his room.
"Shin Shin I need your help with getting food." "Fine. Tomorrow go back to the fields and hunt. I'll teach you how to fight. But don't die though and make sure you practice your mana manipulation." "Thank you Shin Shin." "IT'S SHINKA YOU FOOL!"
