Chapter 81 - Chapter 79 Restoring Power

"Hey, don't go too far, Magnemite!" Ash shouted at the Magnemite.

Suddenly, the Magnemite seemed to heed the warning and floated away.

"Uh, do you guys smell something stinky?" Alex asked, pinching his nose.

"Uh, it really does smell like something," Brock said, wrinkling his face.

"I'm going to throw up! What is that smell?" Ash complained.

Suddenly, the vent above opened, and a large pile of Grimer fell out.

"It's so stinky! Is it them?"

"Grimer?" Alex looked at the two large piles of muck in front of him.

"Grimer, the Pokémon. It's a Poison-type Pokémon born from foul sludge. Its signature move is Sludge Attack."

"I remember! Alex, you have a Muk. Why is it white and not stinky at all?"

"This, I'm not sure either. Maybe it's because it's a mutation?" Alex said, covering his nose.

The real Grimer was indeed this stinky. It was a good thing his Muk had been a mutation; otherwise, it would have been truly helpless.

"So the Magnemite disappeared because of these Grimer," Brock said, holding his breath.

"So this is what Grimer smells like? It's unbearable!" Ash exclaimed, taking a step back.

"Ash, be careful not to hurt the Pokémon's pride. Apologize quickly!" Alex urged, seeing the large group of Grimer looking a bit angry.

"I'm sorry. I believe the most fragrant smell in the world belongs to Grimer," Ash said, lying.

"What are you talking about? It clearly stinks to high heaven!" Misty couldn't stand it and suddenly shouted.

At that moment, a giant Muk suddenly appeared from behind.

"Ah, it's Muk! It's the evolved form of Grimer. The muck on its body is highly poisonous, so we must be careful." Alex felt a bit speechless at this. How did they attract such a large group? His own was much more pleasant.

Alex released his Muk, attempting to negotiate.

"Shriek, shriek."

"Gargle, gargle."

Suddenly, the purple Muk turned hostile, looking very angry.

"How could this be? Is it not working?" Misty asked, puzzled.

"I guess it's because Alex's Muk is different from them. It's a different color and doesn't stink, so they don't really accept him," Brock said after a moment of thought.

Suddenly, a large group of Grimer, led by Muk, charged over.

"Run! Come back, Muk!" Alex shouted.

He recalled his Muk. The other side had too many and was too powerful to fight head-on.

"Misty, it's all your fault! You angered the Grimer!" Ash yelled, running.

"It was already stinky! Why did you have to say it smelled fragrant?" Misty argued back.

"Stop arguing, run!" Alex said, a black line over his head.

Suddenly, turning a corner, Ash bumped into a staff member.

"Who are you?" the staff member with the flashlight questioned.

"Ah, my name is Brock, and these three are..." Brock explained in a panic.

"Now is not the time for that!" Alex and Misty said in unison.

As they spoke, the Grimer had already charged over.

"Ah? There are Grimer here too."

The staff member immediately ran upon seeing them.

"Quick, back to the control room!"

"What exactly is going on?" Alex asked the staff member in front of him.

"The city-wide power outage has caused a huge problem! Many Pokémon at the Pokémon Center are without power, which could lead to their deaths!"

Ash said angrily.

"But the large number of Grimer have blocked the seawater intake, so there's no way. We must first let the seawater boil and rotate the turbine generator before we can generate electricity," the staff member said awkwardly.

"Then... hurry up and figure something out!" Alex urged.

"Ash, those Grimer are constantly trying to break down the door. I can't hold them!" Brock said, staring at the door.

"If this continues, we might all be eaten!" Misty said fearfully.

As she spoke, the Grimer charged in, looking very angry.

"Aren't you aiming to be Pokémon Trainers? Then quickly use your Pokémon to deal with them!" the staff member anxiously said to Alex and the others.

"Exactly! If we just drive them away now, we can generate electricity immediately. Hurry!" the staff member urged.

"But there are too many Grimer now. It's impossible to deal with all of them! Please open your eyes and look!" Alex said, annoyed.

Suddenly, at that moment, a Magnemite broke through the vent from above and appeared, followed by a large group of Magneton, blocking Alex and the others.

"It's Magnemite and their evolved form, Magneton. They are companions of that Magnemite from earlier."

These Magneton all used Discharge, electrocuting all the Grimer and driving them away.

Even the Grimer at the seawater intake were driven off by the Magneton.

At this moment, the power plant suddenly resumed power generation.

"Great! The Grimer have all escaped from the seawater intake!"

"In that case, the power plant can return to normal."

"Wait a minute, Ash; one is still left."

Alex said, looking at the Muk in front of him.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu's powerful Thunderbolt didn't seem to cause much trouble for that Muk.

"This isn't good. This Muk has particularly strong endurance."

Just as Alex was about to make a move, the original Magnemite suddenly rushed out, helping Pikachu unleash Thunderbolt together.

The combined electrical power of the two Pokémon finally made Muk lose its ability to battle.

"Go, Poké Ball!"

Ash then caught the Muk.

"It still stinks like this even inside the Poké Ball," Ash said, pinching his nose.

Behind him, Alex and the others moved more than a meter away.

"Anyway, no matter what, Pikachu has recovered!" Alex said with a smile.

"Yes, yes, he even had a cold not long ago."

"Oh, Electric-type Pokémon, if they absorb too much electricity, their bodies can become magnetized, sometimes appearing as if they have a cold," the staff member added, pinching his nose.

"This time, it was a lucky success, resolved because of a Magnemite who was smitten with Pikachu."

At this moment, the Magnemite floated around numbly, as if it couldn't see Pikachu.

"Strange, how could the Magnemite, who was so enthusiastic about Pikachu just now...?"

"It turns out Magnemite's heart changes as easily as the autumn sky," Brock said, speechless.

"I think he fell in love with Pikachu at first sight because Pikachu was in an electrified, electromagnetic state at that time," Alex speculated.

"That should be it. Just as animals have hormones, electromagnetic force would make Magnemite feel very attracted, which is why it kept sticking to Pikachu. That's the reason."

"I see. Because all its electricity was discharged, Pikachu is no longer an electromagnet, so it lost interest in Pikachu."

"The appearance of a large number of Grimer is evidence that the sea is severely polluted. From now on, you all will have to take care of this," Alex said to Jenny and Joy, who were standing in front of the Pokémon Center.

"I'm truly ashamed. I will work very hard with everyone to restore the sea to its original beauty as soon as possible."

"Perhaps Wuyun City can also be reborn because of this, becoming a city with a blue sky. Who knows?" Brock said, looking at the sky.

"Thanks to all of you, many Pokémon were saved. From now on, I will also be a diligent nurse," Joy said remorsefully.

"Let's salute everyone's efforts!" Jenny said, saluting.

"Not at all; we just did what we should do. Instead, we'll leave that to you," Ash said, waving his hand.

"Leave it to me; I'll handle it," Jenny and Joy said with smiles.
