Tang Chen was profoundly shaken by Su Wen's latest maneuver.
While he boasted of having a crushing physical advantage at the age of six, he was simultaneously attempting to communicate with the soul power, mental energy, and even the Deathgod Domain within his body. However, no matter how he tried to mobilize them, he could not even sense the existence of these energies.
It was as if, aside from his memories, everything had been completely reverted to his state at six years old. His soul power and mental energy were strictly at the level of a child. What shocked Tang Chen most was that even the information regarding the Asura God's trials was now inaccessible.
Su Wen did not launch a sneak attack while Tang Chen was fumbling to understand his current condition. While Tang Chen was stalling for time to adapt to his six-year-old physique, Su Wen was seizing the opportunity to perform his own preparations.
"Actually, this soul skill is an ability of the Dark Devilgod Tiger," Su Wen explained calmly. "The Dark Devilgod Tiger can not only pull enemies into this space, but it can also rely on the power of the Evil God to remain unaffected, entering this arena in its absolute peak form."
"Unfortunately, I have only managed to connect to this space. I can pull myself and my enemies inside, but I cannot yet remain immune to the influence of the power of time within it."
As Su Wen spoke, Tang Chen's pupils constricted violently. If this ability came from the Dark Devilgod Tiger, then... Su Wen must have experienced it firsthand and been pulled in by one before.
How did he kill a Dark Devilgod Tiger? Did he shatter the protection of the Evil God's power? Tang Chen's vast experience allowed him to quickly deduce several possibilities, but each one was harder to believe than the last. Even if the protection was broken, the Dark Devilgod Tiger was a supreme overlord among soul beasts. Could Su Wen truly defeat one at the same developmental stage? Even if he waited a month or two after awakening his martial soul, it should have been impossible!
By this point, Su Wen had already completed the process of communicating with his own martial soul.
"Every time I enter this space, I feel a sense of harvest," Su Wen remarked.
The last time he entered the Life and Death Arena, Su Wen had experienced the awakening of his martial soul for the second time. Now, experiencing it for a third time, he felt increasingly familiar with the process. He was so familiar, in fact, that a thought began to take root: he could awaken himself as a martial soul—an attempt to awaken his own body as a Body Martial Soul.
"Hmm?"
In the midst of their confrontation, Tang Chen was about to strike at a perceived opening in Su Wen's defense when his expression suddenly changed. "How is this possible! How can you complete a martial soul awakening on your own?"
In Su Wen's hand, a book had already manifested. Simultaneously, the Source Soul Power within his body rapidly converted into soul power, reaching approximately Rank 5. Just like before, Su Wen left a trace of Source Soul Power to surge into his spiritual sea, triggering his control over the "Meditated World" within, thereby completing the opening of his spiritual sea from the inside out.
"Otherwise, why do you think I dragged you in here?" Su Wen asked rhetorically.
To gamble on a sliver of hope? No. If he didn't have a certainty of victory, he would have simply fled earlier. Why go through the effort of pulling Tang Chen into this space?
Tang Chen's face turned ashen. He remained hyper-vigilant while desperately trying various methods to awaken his own martial soul. He refused to believe that Su Wen could succeed where he might fail.
On the Douluo Continent, a soul master's martial soul awakening was typically a guided process. By age six, the soul soul was fully formed but could not awaken spontaneously. Without a soul master to guide the process, it might only happen naturally after the age of ten.
But the situation was different now. Tang Chen realized the distinction; he had experienced awakening before and had even reached Rank 99. He could not be viewed as a normal six-year-old. Yet, no matter how he searched his inner self, he could not sense his martial soul.
Boom!
In Su Wen's hand, a fireball burning with explosive intensity coalesced into being. The temperature was high enough to be considered formidable even to a Soul Ancestor, yet it was being wielded by Su Wen in a six-year-old state.
"Impossible!"
Tang Chen had observed Su Wen's martial soul status the moment it awakened. There was no space attribute, nor was there a fire attribute or any other element present. Yet now, Su Wen was directly utilizing a fire-attributed soul skill.
Su Wen hurled the fireball, simultaneously drawing in worldly essence to restore his soul power. With the assistance of the Meditated World, Su Wen's recovery speed was equivalent to that of a Rank 65 Soul Emperor, even though he was currently a Rank 5 Soul Scholar. Effectively, he had infinite mana.
Fireballs, wind blades, and boulders rained down. Because he possessed soul power, Su Wen could strengthen his body, making his physical stamina far superior to Tang Chen's. No matter how strong Tang Chen's innate physical foundation was, without soul power, it was all for naught.
"Dammit!" Tang Chen roared, trying to bridge the gap to his martial soul, but there was no response. A look of madness entered his eyes as he threw himself toward Su Wen's fireball.
Rumble!
The fireball exploded, sending Tang Chen flying. Numerous burn marks appeared on his body as the flames clung to him like maggots on a bone, seeping into his flesh. Tang Chen's face contorted as he tried to use the soul power within the flames to stimulate his own potential.
Watching from a distance, Su Wen shook his head, refusing to give him any more chances. If Tang Chen actually managed to awaken his martial soul, Su Wen would be in genuine danger. And it had to be said—Tang Chen was terrifyingly resilient.
The boulders that had fallen around the arena during the chase began to resonate with Su Wen's Meditated World, suddenly exerting a powerful crushing force. Following this, wind blades coalesced and sliced through Tang Chen.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
Even a Peerless Douluo was pierced through by these small wind blades in this weakened state. Su Wen's body was then swallowed by spatial energy, vanishing from the Life and Death Arena.
Back at Shrek Academy, Su Wen reappeared. Following him, Tang Chen's lifeless body tumbled from the sky.
Thud!
The corpse hit the ground heavily, a sound that seemed to strike the hearts of everyone present. The Zhantian Douluo's eyes twitched violently; his shock was no less than that of the others, though it lacked the sheer terror reflected in the eyes of the Shrek faculty.
Su Wen collected Tang Chen's body and turned his gaze toward Tang San. "It is time for you to die as well."
For the sake of one person, the entire Clear Sky School had been buried. A wind blade descended, transfixing Tang San's body. Su Wen collected his corpse as well.
"As for the rest of you?" Su Wen's gaze swept over the remaining members of Shrek, lingering on Oscar and the others.
"Su Wen! Do you truly intend to exterminate every last one of us?" Flender shouted, stepping between Su Wen and the remaining students, his eyes burning with fury.
"I prefer to pull up the grass by its roots. My apologies," Su Wen replied simply.
As he spoke, multiple wind blades materialized, rapidly slicing toward the Shrek group.
"Golden Iron Triangle!" Flender roared.
Yu Xiaogang and Liu Erlong immediately moved into a triangular formation with him, with Yu Xiaogang standing at the front. Soul power linked the three of them, and a golden array manifested beneath their feet. A small pig-like creature landed within the center of the golden formation.
