Chapter 11 - Chapter 10 Elena

The grass was soft beneath me. Silver-green, like starlight had been woven through every blade. I sat beneath the old apple tree, the same one from the dream before, the one with roots that reached deeper than memory. It wasn't always here.

Birdsong echoed from somewhere that didn't have a sky. The breeze carried the scent of rain and smoke and sugar-spice tea. The kind G-ma loved. She always made it for me when I was little.

The sky had no stars and no moon just Ribbons of color that shimmered translucently across the sky. I wanted to call it an aurora, but it wasn't. It looked more like ribbons... or strings of light woven across the sky.

I have had this dream before, I think.

There was a rustle of leaves and then G-ma walked out of the trees. She was wearing our family robes Black and gray with silver Embroidery of swirling smoke along the hem. There was a smile of joy across her face.

"G-ma" I called and started walking to her.

She raised her hand, "There's something you're looking for," her voice floated in all directions. "What" I asked.

"But you won't find it with your eyes." she continued. "what are you talking about?" I asked. She frowned at me, "There's truth in fire," she continued, I shook my head. "but it doesn't come without a burn." She said, and none of this makes sense. "And not every sword needs forging in flame. Some are passed down. Some… awaken." I looked away, completely confused. None of this made any sense.

I looked back at G-ma, I started to take a step towards her.

"There's a boy," she said softly. "He won't speak your name."

Then the apple tree burst into bloom, and a gust of wind whirled around me, carrying blossoms into the air. I turn to face the source and there stood an old man he was wearing white and silver robes. His beard reached halfway down his chest, he looked like some sort of wizard from a storybook.

I looked back at G-ma, but for the first time in my life I couldn't read her expression. When I turned again, the old man was standing directly in front of me and went to take a step back but could not move. I looked into his grey almost silver eyes and saw the gold flecks start to glow. He placed a hand on the side of my face. It was warm and tingled against my skin. Then he spoke:

"Al drock, ne tarra sok." His voice was deep and old

He leaned forward.

His lips touched my forehead.

Darkness.

I jump out of my seat. What the hell was that. I looked around and the other passengers were looking at me. I gave a nod and sat back down.

I looked out the window and the sky was dark just the city lights as far as the eye can see.

I took a deep breath and said to no one, "Welcome home Judisch"
