Chapter 36 - The Players and Their Classes

Hello everyone,

The first arc has now come to a close. I hope the journey so far hasn't felt too drawn out. A small time skip is approaching, after which I intend to align the story more closely with the beginning of canon events. I feel I've strayed a little from my original vision, and it's time to steer us back.

Below, I've listed the current players in the story along with their abilities. I've also included several characters I plan to grant powers to in the future. I would love to hear your suggestions for their classes and skill sets, some I already have rough ideas for, but I'm very open to your thoughts.

The next chapter will feature multiple POVs from the other powered characters (excluding Robb and Melisandre).

I'll try my best to maintain a consistent update schedule going forward, Try being the key word, as life often has other plans.

Class & Power Breakdown in the World of Ice and Fire

Robb Stark / ###### — Level 5 Warlock [Pact of the Outer God]

Robb's pact with an unknowable Outer God has transformed him from a promising young lord into a dangerous political and supernatural force.

His powers allow him to subtly manipulate loyalty, perception, and fear, making him exceptionally effective at courtly intrigue and battlefield command.

Skills:

Spectre Summon: Can summon and command ethereal spectres of the dead. Number of active spectres equals his level (currently 5). Spectres can act independently as scouts/assassins.

Fog of War: Summons a thick supernatural fog around himself and allies. Range increases by 10 meters per level (currently 50 meters). Within the fog, enemies suffer disorientation and heightened fear, while allies gain improved coordination.

Whispers of the Void: Can hear and project eldritch whispers that demoralize enemies or extract secrets from the unwilling. Stronger minds resist longer.

Outer Sight: Passive ability to perceive magical threads and influence on people (glowing eyes when active). Allows him to detect charmed or possessed individuals.

Jon Snow — Level 2 Eldritch Knight [Bestowed]

Jon's powers stem directly from Robb's ritual in the crypts. He serves as Robb's Shadow, a loyal guardian granted supernatural abilities tied to death, duty, and the Stark bloodline.

His class is still young, so his powers are more defensive and supportive than offensive, fitting his role as protector and scout.

Skills:

Speak to the Dead: Can see and converse with ghosts of the deceased, Ghosts retain their sentience and personality, they may refuse to answer, lie, or demand favors in return. Cannot be commanded.

Knight's Binding: Passive loyalty enchantment, Jon is supernaturally compelled to protect Robb. This also grants him minor resistance to fear and mind-affecting magic.

Lady Kinvara — Level 3 Cleric [Domain of Fire]

Kinvara's fire domain stems from R'hllor's faith. her powers are seen as both miraculous and terrifying, She uses her abilities to inspire followers, burn enemies, and reveal hidden truths through flame.

Skills:

Flame of R'hllor: Can summon and control holy fire. At Level 3, she can create flames strong enough to ignite weapons, create protective fire circles, or launch small firebolts.

Vision in Flame: Can scry through fire, seeing distant locations or receiving prophetic visions. Accuracy and clarity improve with preparation and offerings.

Fire Purification: Can cleanse disease, poison, or minor curses by burning them out of a target. Also capable of healing burns and cold-related injuries rapidly.

Ignite Faith: Can temporarily empower allies with fanatical zeal, increasing their combat effectiveness and morale for a short duration.

Lady Melisandre — Level 2 Cleric [Bestowed]

Melisandre's powers come directly from the Lord of Light but channeled throught the High Priestess. She is still relatively low-level, meaning her abilities are potent but limited in scope and require significant ritual or blood sacrifice to maximize.

Skills:

Shadow Binding: Can birth shadow assassins from her own life force (very costly at Level 2). These shadows are extremely effective killers but drain her strength severely.

Glamour Weaving: Can create powerful illusions to disguise herself or others. At Level 2, glamours are convincing but require concentration and fade under strong scrutiny.

Flame Reading: Receives divine guidance and prophecy by staring into flames. Visions are often cryptic and require interpretation.

Warmth of R'hllor: Can generate intense heat to survive extreme cold and grant limited protection to nearby allies against freezing temperatures.

Khal Drogo — Level 3 Barbarian [Berserker]

Drogo's class amplifies his already legendary martial prowess. In Essos, he is an unstoppable force of nature. His rage powers make him terrifying in battle, though they leave him vulnerable afterward.

Skills:

Berserker Rage: Enters a powerful battle trance. At Level 3, he gains immense strength, pain resistance, and speed for a short duration. After the rage ends, exhaustion is severe.

Bloodrider's Charge: Can lead devastating cavalry charges with supernatural momentum. Allies in the charge gain minor bonuses to speed and ferocity.

Might of the Great Khal: Passive strength and intimidation aura. Enemies of lower level feel instinctive fear when facing him directly.

Scarred Vitality: Gains increased resilience the more wounds he sustains in battle (rage-fueled regeneration).

Varys — Level 3 Rogue [Mastermind]

Varys's class embodies his role as the Spider. His powers revolve around information, manipulation, and subtle influence rather than direct combat. He is exceptionally dangerous in political environments.

Skills:

Web of Whispers: Can maintain and expand a vast network of spies and informants. At Level 3, he gains near-perfect awareness of major plots within a city or court.

Master of Disguise: Can create flawless disguises and false identities with minimal preparation. Extremely difficult to detect.

Subtle Suggestion: Can plant subtle suggestions or ideas in conversations that influence targets over time (works best on weaker-willed individuals).
