Monday morning arrived. In the study, Alexander sat across from Huan. The desk was covered with folders, digital tablets, and several handwritten lists.
This was the crucial handover. For the next thirty days, Alexander would be unreachable, for the first time ever.
"I've categorized the tasks by priority," Alexander said. He pointed to a red folder. "The merger with the construction group in Dubai is in the final stage. You have power of attorney to sign on my behalf. If the price goes above the limit we discussed, walk away."
He explained everything seriously.
Huan looked at the stack of documents. He had been Alexander's right-hand man for years, but the idea of managing the entire Salazar empire without a single consultation was daunting.
"I understand the business side, Alex. But what about the other things? What if Sir Antonio demands a meeting?"
"Tell him I'm on a spiritual retreat," Alexander replied, chuckling.
