Yuri and Kito focused intently on a specific spot on the monster's shell, striking it relentlessly in their bid to weaken its defences. The colossal creature swung its tail around violently, determined to crush anything that dared to stand in its path. Suddenly, it locked its gaze on us. With a swift motion, the beast seized Yuri by the arm, its grip tightening with merciless force, causing her to scream in agony. Without a moment's hesitation, Sam and Rin sprang into action, leaping toward the monstrous hand. With coordinated precision, they plunged their weapons into its flesh. Sam directed a surge of electricity through his blade, sending jolts coursing through the creature in hopes of forcing it to release its grip on Yuri. The battle was escalating, and the stakes had never been higher.
Rin lunged forward and drove his blade into the monster's eye, its most vulnerable spot. With a growl, the creature recoiled, momentarily stunned. Kito stood nearby, a surge of energy coursing through him, his hair standing on end. His eyes glowed a deep purple as his hands transformed, filled with newfound power. In a burst of adrenaline, he charged at the creature, his weapon slicing through its tough skin as if it were nothing. The opening he created prompted Shina and Yuri to rush in, but just as they prepared to strike, Kito's intense fury flared, and he threw them off balance, sending them crashing to the ground. The monster, realising that its shell had been breached, turned its wrath on Kito. But before it could unleash its fury, Sam and Rin sprang into action, driving their weapons into the ground and pinning it down, refusing to let it escape. Kito's anger transformed into a relentless madness as he dug deeper into the creature, feeling a primal urge to finish the fight.
Rin seized the moment.
With a burst of speed, he drove his hands forward and tore into the monster's eyes, blinding it instantly. The creature let out a deafening roar, thrashing wildly as dark fluid poured down its face.
"Now!" Rin shouted.
Alex, Daniel, Shina, and Yuri rushed in together, pinning the monster's massive body to the ground, holding it in place despite its violent struggle.
Sam stepped forward, his blade steady. Without hesitation, he began cutting through the creature's arm—slow, deliberate strikes, each one deeper than the last.
The monster convulsed.
Rin didn't stop. Forcing his way through the ruined eye socket, he pushed deeper into its flesh, carving a path inside.
At the same time, Kito followed—his presence cutting through the creature from within.
The monster's movements grew erratic... then weaker.
A final shudder ran through its body.
And then—
Silence.
The creature collapsed, lifeless.
A mysterious light emanated from the creature as they drew closer, revealing an unexpected treasure within its depths. They uncovered an object that resembled a badge, a relic unlike any other. Unlike the soul weapons wielded by hunters, relics are remnants dropped by monsters upon their defeat. With a mere 2 percent chance of claiming a relic after a battle, these coveted items can be harnessed by anyone — not just hunters. The thrill of discovery pulsed through them as they realized the power this relic might hold.
Rin handed the relic to Daniel and smiled and said, "It's yours."
Rin spoke, "you fought well."
Daniel nodded and spoke, "but the others."
The others, "it's ok."
Daniel nodded with a smile.
Shina and Yuri were bleeding a little from when Kito pushed them off.
Rin didn't say anything and just moved on. Alex helped them clean the wounds.
They moved forward before anything happened.
It was brutal, their clothes were torn, they are covered body was covered in things they got from the ground.
Life often feels like a game, where each person is the protagonist of their own unique story. For some, the journey seems smooth and effortless, while for others, it can feel like an uphill battle. As I reflect on my own beginnings, I realise that much of my childhood is shrouded in a fog, like an empty void in my heart. It's a strange sensation, this disconnect from my early days, but it shapes the way I view the world and my place in it.
Rin was lost in thought when Daniel suddenly broke through, his voice ringing out, "Hey, I've been trying to reach you!"
Rin spoke, "Oh, sorry."
Daniel spoke, "We have no food left"
Water was not a problem because they followed the river to get to their destination.
