In the Black World —
Sho released Gengar and used Mean Look on Entei. However, just as Ash thought—you, a Gym-level Pokémon… using a trapping move on a high Champion-level Entei, so what if you trap it? Can you actually beat it?
That's right, this Entei wasn't some infant or newborn Legendary, but a real, complete Legendary Beast! High Champion-level… it was unknown if it held a special providence. But even without providence, this power already crushed the vast majority of Pokémon in the world! Forget a little Gym-level Gengar; even Ash had to consider how many of his own Pokémon could actually fight Entei. If he didn't count Legendaries and only considered the Pokémon he'd personally trained, then there were only two: Pikachu and Charizard.
The subsequent scene unfolded as expected. First, Gengar was violently thrashed by Entei. Then, Entei seemed to grow tired of playing with it. With a roar, it sent Gengar back into Sho's Poké Ball. It was true Mean Look couldn't make a Pokémon faint, but if the Pokémon using Mean Look left the field, the move's effect would end. Entei… or rather, all three Legendary Beasts knew Roar, which could force the opposing Pokémon back into its Ball, thus nullifying Mean Look.
Sho slumped weakly to the ground, a dejected look on his face. In truth, even if Gengar hadn't been forced back, Sho knew he'd lost… The gap was simply too vast. The battle between Entei and Gengar was like an adult playing with a newborn baby. This filled Sho with despair… Could Legendary Pokémon really be defeated?
Roar!!
After roaring Gengar back, Entei's fierce gaze turned to Ash, and its expression instantly softened. Though it still roared, even Sho could tell this roar carried no force at all. Sho couldn't help but look up and saw Entei had jumped down from the hillside and now stood majestically before Ash.
"Haha, first time meeting you, Entei."
Ash waved at Entei. The roar just now was merely a greeting to him, naturally without any power.
Roar ouch~
I heard about you, the Rainbow Hero, from Suicune. I also learned the world faces a crisis of annihilation.
Though this may be rushing things… I still wish to ask… are you prepared to battle Ho-Oh, Rainbow Hero?
When Suicune met Ash before, it also told him that once he chose to challenge the Phoenix King, he must be prepared to battle the Three Legendary Beasts. Only by defeating the Three Beasts could he learn Ho-Oh's location and challenge Him. The only difference from before was that Entei had learned of Team Rainbow Rocket's existence from Suicune and also knew how much power Ash now possessed! That being equal to Ho-Oh—Dark Lugia! Though they didn't know if Dark Lugia had reached its peak, this wasn't something for messengers under the Phoenix's throne to probe. But they knew that since Ash possessed Dark Lugia, it meant… Ash already had the strength to fight the Phoenix King. So, Entei asked a completely different question than Suicune: Do you wish to challenge the Phoenix King now?
"That's my intention! But can you wait one day for me? Tomorrow at ten in the morning, at this same location, I will come challenge you. I need to find a suitable opponent to fight you."
"If he fights you… he'll definitely improve tremendously."
Hearing this, Entei tilted its head. A suitable opponent to fight it? Who could that be?…
Roar!
Regardless of who it was, Entei agreed. After all, this was the Rainbow Hero's request, and it wasn't an excessive one. After answering Ash, Entei directly stepped on flames and turned to leave the hot spring area.
Only then did the confused Sho finally react.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey!! What just happened?! Why do you and Entei seem so familiar, Ash?!"
"And did Entei just agree to come back tomorrow to fight you?!"
"Why would a Legendary Pokémon agree to your conditions? Also, Ash, even after watching my battle with Entei, do you still want to fight it?!"
"That's not an opponent humans can defeat!"
Sho said all this in one breath, leaving Ash momentarily unsure which question to answer first.
...
[Blaine:] Which Pokémon does Ash want to use against Entei? Could it be… Charizard?
[Flint:] The Pokémon not currently by Ash's side that can compete with a Champion-level Entei… who else but Charizard?
[Professor Oak:] What if Ash means Mewtwo?
[Mewtwo:] Me? If Ash really wanted to use me to fight, what would be the point? Why not just have Dark Lugia instantly defeat Entei?
Though Mewtwo's words were a bit blunt, they were factual. A Legendary-tier Mewtwo fighting Entei would be nothing less than an instant knockout. The Psychic-type was the most severe suppressor of lower-level Pokémon. Without power surpassing the Psychic energy used, defeat was the only path—unless you were Dark-type. That was the terror of the Psychic-type!
[Ho-Oh:] Indeed, though my messengers are powerful… there remains a significant gap compared to Legendary-tier beings. Judging by Black Ash's demeanor, he likely wants to use Entei to help Charizard better comprehend Sacred Fire and reach the next level.
[Flint:] Right, I think so too. Not just Sacred Fire, but Charizard's own strength… at this level, it's difficult to improve through training alone.
[Flint:] That's why Ash wants Charizard to experience as many Champion-level battles as possible.
[Flint:] As for Charizard in the valley… Charizard without Mega Evolution or Aura Fusion is only mid-Elite Four–level, approaching high-tier. Even if it's reached high-tier now, it can only find opponents at the Sky King's level.
[Flint:] But it's different after Mega Evolution or Aura Fusion. Charizard can fight Champion-level opponents, and the experience gained from that is on a completely different level.
Flint's analysis left everyone in the live stream dumbfounded. So Black Ash's choice to have Charizard fight Entei had so many layers behind it?!
[Professor Oak:] I can only say… as expected of Black Ash. He never misses any opportunity for self-improvement.
[Cynthia:] Yes. Black Ash has always been one to seek strength due to external pressures. Now that he knows about Team Rainbow Rocket, though he doesn't show much on the surface, in reality… he carries a heavy burden.
Cynthia sighed, feeling a bit sorry for that boy. At eleven years old, he directly shouldered the crucial task of saving the entire world—a responsibility no one could share. Thankfully… nothing so heavy happened in the White World, though White Ash's development was slower. It could only be said… there were pros and cons.

In the Black World —
Ash picked a few questions and answered Sho without revealing his identity as the Rainbow Hero—after all, they weren't particularly close, just ordinary acquaintances who'd just met… maybe not even that. Sho didn't mind either; everyone had their secrets. It would be troubling if Ash revealed everything. However, Sho asked if he could come watch Ash's duel with Entei tomorrow. Ash didn't refuse; he had no reason to.
That evening, Ash teleported Charizard from Liza and temporarily sent Noctowl back to Professor Oak's lab.
At ten o'clock the next day, the group of five arrived at the same location as yesterday. It was the same familiar hillside. Entei stood majestically atop it, watching Ash and the others from above. Seeing Ash arrive, it jumped directly to a wide, flat area. It was clear Entei was ready to battle at any moment.
"Larvitar, can you go to Misty for a bit?"
"Depend on? Yuki! Yuki!"
When Ash said this, Larvitar's reaction was quite strong. It cried out, unwilling to leave Ash, its cute large eyes already welling with tears.
"Larvitar, I know your aversion to humans stems from encountering poachers when you were young."
"I don't know what you experienced in the Egg, but during this time, you should have been able to feel the affection, care, and protection that Misty, Sabrina, Brock… these three have for you."
"Use your heart to feel the people in this world who love you, and use your strength to protect those important to you… This is the first lesson I want to teach you, Larvitar!"
As he spoke, Ash set Larvitar on the ground and gave it a gentle push.
"Go on. With Misty and the others, you'll feel what I just said. And then…"
Ash turned and took out a Poké Ball, facing Entei.
"In the battle ahead, you will understand what true power is!"
"It's up to you, Charizard!!"

The Poké Ball opened, and a majestic orange-red dragon appeared on the field. It raised its head and roared loudly, announcing its presence.
Larvitar turned its head to look at Charizard, which radiated incomparable power. Charizard seemed to sense this and looked back at Larvitar, then gave it a thumbs-up. Suddenly, an indescribable emotion surged in Larvitar's heart. It turned back to look at Misty, Sabrina, and Brock, who were smiling warmly at it. Finally, it finally moved its short legs and ran to Misty's feet.
Misty, seeing Larvitar finally not rejecting her, was about to happily pick it up, and then… her face turned green.
This little one… looks so small, why is it so heavy!!!
