Arora pushed Kelvin back gently, her palms warm, steady, and grounding against his trembling shoulders as she guided him toward the mattress.

"Okay. You rest now, Brother."

Her voice softened in a way it never did within the reinforced steel walls of Black Rose headquarters. It was a rare, gentle tone she had almost forgotten she still possessed—a sister's true voice, buried deep years ago beneath layers of armor, blood, and the brutal weight of the syndicate crest.

She paused, her dark eyes lingering over his pale face. For the first time in months, she really looked at him without the suffocating fog of an ongoing war obscuring her vision.
