Hearing Haruna's words, Miu felt a sharp pain in her chest and didn't know what to say. Those words hurt her just as much as the ones her mother had said to her the day before.
Haruna noticed her reaction and continued,
"You're more than enough."
"Huh?"
Without even realizing it, Miu had already started crying. She wiped away her tears with the blanket and hid behind it. Haruna sat down beside her on the bed and said,
"You're more than good enough for Kyo. And Kyo likes you too. I have nothing against the two of you being together. I've already told him that."
Hearing Haruna's words greatly eased Miu's heart.
But they also made her realize something.
Kyo likes her.
Kyo likes her.
For a moment, Miu's mind went completely blank. She lowered the blanket from her face and looked at Haruna. When their eyes met, she asked,
"Kyo... likes me?"
The moment Haruna saw Miu's expression, she burst into laughter.
"Hahaha, you're so adorable, Miu."
"R-Re-Really... Kyo really likes me?"
"You hadn't noticed?"
"Kyo never did anything that made me think that. I always thought he just saw me as a very close friend, nothing more. I never imagined a girl like me could catch his attention."
"Are you sure? Kyo helped you at school, helped you start your career as a writer, talks to you every single day, supported you through your hardest moments, and even slept beside you just to help you calm down during the night. Isn't that enough?"
Miu was left speechless.
Kyo had always been there for her.
Even after he stopped going to school, he still talked to Miu every morning to make sure she was doing okay. He still worried about her deeply. What if she had started being bullied again?
Without a doubt, Kyo would have gone back to school just to protect her.
Miu knew that.
'Kyo...'
Miu smiled and buried her face in the blanket before letting out a quiet laugh.
Watching Miu act like a lovestruck girl, Haruna smiled.
"This reminds me of when I first started getting close to Robert. I felt just like you. I didn't think I was good enough for him. Robert has always been an amazing man, you know? His family was on a completely different level from mine."
Haruna's words made one thing clear.
Even though she had only known Miu for a short time, she understood just how little Miu thought of herself.
"..."
"But what exactly makes you think you're not good enough to stand beside Kyo?" Haruna asked. "His looks? His talent? His money?"
"..."
"Kyo is on another level, Miu. You shouldn't compare yourself to him." Haruna chuckled. "Even I'm his mother, and I still can't understand how he turned into the boy he is today. His appearance, his talent... everything. I still can't make sense of it."
"..."
"You're beautiful, Miu. Besides, you're about to publish your novel, aren't you? You're still so young, and that's proof of how talented you are. And money? Who cares about that?" Haruna smiled.
"..."
"So you shouldn't spend so much time worrying about those things."
"Alright! I've made up my mind!" Miu declared.
She jumped to her feet and looked toward the door.
"I'm going to confess to him right now!"
Hearing that, Haruna hurriedly stopped her.
"Wait, wait! You're going to do it here? Right now? No! Absolutely not!"
"Huh? Why?"
"You can't do that. You have to wait for the perfect moment. Besides, Kyo should be the one to confess."
"Kyo has to confess? Why? If he likes me too, can't I just do it?"
"You idiot! You really don't know anything about relationships, do you?"
"Of course I do! I've even written a romance novel before!"
"...I'm suddenly worried about what you wrote." Haruna sighed. "Listen, I'll help you with this. There isn't much I can actually do, but I'll help as much as I possibly can."

POV: Kyo
After washing my face, I grabbed my laptop and sat down on my bed. I opened my email to check whether I'd received anything important yesterday since I hadn't looked at it. There wasn't anything urgent.
Then I opened Twitter to browse some posts.
I searched for "Tensura" and then "Oregairu" to see what readers were thinking. Most of the posts were full of praise, though I also came across a few pretty harsh criticisms. They were rare, but they existed.
But this is kind of funny...
"Every post criticizing me has tons of replies. My readers get worked up pretty easily over this kind of thing."
Well, thankfully no one was saying anything discriminatory or hateful.
Back in my previous world, it was pretty common for certain fandoms to be filled with racists or other prejudiced people.
After reading and replying to a few posts, I closed Twitter and opened YouTube instead.
I already had a channel under my own name, though I'd never uploaded anything.
That's the channel I plan to use for my music productions in the future.
I don't know when I'll upload my first song, but it'll probably be soon.
I could also record my daily life or make videos like "A Day in the Life of an Actor," but honestly, I'm too lazy for that.
While scrolling through my YouTube homepage, which was full of *Overlord* reaction videos, I heard someone knock on the door.
"Come in."
Miu entered the room.
"Are you done talking with my mom?"
"Yeah, we're done. What are you doing?"
"I was reading some comments on Twitter about my works. I like reading and replying to them. It makes me feel closer to my readers."
"I see. Your mom told me to let you know that breakfast has been ready for quite a while."
"Alright. I'm coming down."
Miu left my room, and I headed downstairs shortly afterward.
By the time I reached the dining room, Mom and Miu were already eating.
The two of them suddenly seemed much closer than before.
They also looked like they were hiding something.
'I wonder what they talked about...'
