Liu Xi's voice was calm and indifferent.
In front of him, a massive cyan sun erupted from his fingertip, its brilliance piercing the darkness beneath the magma. The entire molten world was illuminated with a blinding blue-white radiance.
Dozens of Fire Lizards, charging toward him with screeching fury, instantly froze as the incandescent blaze swept forward. Their enraged roars turned into terrified screams. There was no space to dodge — the cyan flame's heat surpassed even the magma itself, carving through it like a heavenly blade. A tunnel of fire tore open through the molten sea, engulfing everything in its path.
Within that blazing light, countless Fire Lizards perished — Dou Wang, Dou Huang, and even Dou Zong-level ones were burned to ash. Only a few Dou Zun managed to narrowly escape.
The Burning Heaven Finger was a Mid Level Di Class Dou Technique, yet when powered by Liu Xi's azure flame, its might easily reached that of a High Level Di Class technique.
Clearing a path through the magma, Liu Xi tightened his hold around Zi Yan and spread his bone wings wide. With a sharp tremor, his body shot forward like a streak of white lightning.
For someone of his strength, even an army of Dou Wang or Dou Zong experts was meaningless — numbers couldn't bridge that vast gap.
But what he hadn't expected—
Among the Fire Lizards were not only several Dou Zun, but over a dozen of them, and even one Half Saint aura lurking in the depths.
"...You've got to be kidding me."
The Fire Lizard Tribe was a force worthy of the ancient age — a guardian race created by the Toushe Ancient Emperor himself to guard his tomb.
Retreat? Impossible. He was already here; there was no turning back.
From all directions, the Fire Lizard Dou Zun surrounded him, their pride stung. Their guttural roars merged into one, forming a deafening, overlapping soundwave that rippled through the magma.
"Screech!"
The shrill cry became waves of destructive resonance, converging toward Liu Xi with terrifying force — a sonic assault no weaker than a Mid Level Di Class Sound Dou Technique.
Liu Xi's face darkened. The cyan flame barrier around him thickened rapidly, while his hands blurred through seals. He unleashed his Flowing Wind Soul Body, transforming his Spiritual Power into a transparent gale that wrapped around his body.
Even with both layers of protection, the omnipresent vibrations still pierced through, worming into his flesh like invisible insects. Agonizing pain tore through him as if his entire body were being shredded apart.
"Big Brother…"
The weak, pained voice came from within his arms. Liu Xi's heart lurched — Zi Yan's body was trembling, her face contorted in pain, eyes tightly shut.
Though she was an Ancient Void Dragon by blood, she was still a 7th Rank Magical Beast. Her body was powerful, but not invincible. Under this all-encompassing sonic assault, even she couldn't hold out.
"Don't be afraid, Zi Yan. I'm here."
His voice was gentle, but his eyes turned cold and sharp. "We have to break through, now!"
Locking onto the direction of the ancient emperor's tomb, Liu Xi gathered every ounce of Dou Qi into his wings. Ignoring the pain, he burst forward at twice his previous speed.
In an instant, he appeared before a blocking Dou Zun Fire Lizard. Without a word, his cyan-flame-covered hand tore through the creature's chest.
Crack!
The proud scales that once deflected countless attacks shattered like glass. The lizard's expression froze in disbelief before it was engulfed by searing azure fire — reduced to charred ash in the blink of an eye.
Liu Xi snatched the Fire Bead from its chest and threw it into his ring without slowing down.
Sensing his intent, four more Dou Zun appeared ahead, blocking his path, while nine others closed in from behind. The encirclement tightened — even for him, the situation was perilous.
At that moment, the remaining Fire Lizards opened their maws, condensing spheres of blinding white flame within. The terrifying fluctuations made Liu Xi's expression harden.
"You're forcing me to do this…"
His face twisted with ferocity. All the Dou Qi, azure flame, and Spiritual Power in his body surged toward his fingertip.
Before him, a pitch-black sun began to take form — unstable, seething, and deadly. It grew larger by the second: one foot, three, nine, then a full meter across, its surface writhing like a volcano ready to erupt.
"No… I need to compress it further!"
Teeth clenched, Liu Xi poured his Spiritual Power into the raging energies, forcing them to fuse in perfect balance. The black sun shrank, spinning wildly — three feet, two, then one. Its light dimmed, but its destructive pressure soared.
Even the four Dou Zun Fire Lizards ahead, their tiny emerald eyes wide, could feel a primal terror from deep within their souls.
There was no retreat.
The four Fire Lizards released their blazing spheres at once. The magma split apart as the fireballs ripped through it, howling straight toward Liu Xi.
His arm trembled violently; if not for his tempered bones, it would have been torn apart.
Before him, the compressed black sun — forged from half his Dou Qi, Spiritual Power, and Heavenly Flame — reached perfect equilibrium. Pale and sweating, Liu Xi flung it forward.
The black sphere tore through the void, colliding with the four white fireballs. There was no explosion — only silence.
The fireballs vanished, devoured in an instant. Then the black sun shot forward, engulfing the four Dou Zun before they could even scream.
In a flash, both their bodies and souls were obliterated, leaving no trace behind.
Liu Xi didn't linger to admire the devastation. Nine more Dou Zun were closing in. Pouring his remaining Dou Qi into his bone wings, he accelerated again. The strain made the wings creak and crack, but they held long enough to hurl him forward like a bolt of lightning.
Within moments, he broke through the barrier and appeared outside a spatial rift — the entrance to the ancient emperor's realm.
He stepped through without hesitation. The world spun, and he emerged into a vast, lightless void.
Behind him, the Fire Lizards stopped. They didn't dare pursue any farther. Low, eerie screeches echoed from the magma — calls for reinforcements.
Moments later, two overwhelming auras appeared beyond the rift and stationed themselves there, sealing the passage.
