Chapter 512 - Chapter 512: Forcing Through the Beast Tide

As soon as Hun Yu's words fell, murmurs spread among the gathered powerhouses. Anyone capable of reaching this place was at least a Dou Zun, each one a centuries-old monster in human skin—no one truly believed Hun Yu was acting out of kindness. But reality was harsh; no one could pass through the Beast Tide alone. Even a Dou Zun, once their Dou Qi was exhausted, would become nothing more than food for the savage beasts.

Everyone knew Hun Yu harbored ulterior motives, yet the balance in their hearts tilted toward him all the same. Every one of them carried that mysterious self-confidence: "I'm clever enough. I'll eat the sugar coating and spit out the shell."

Gu Xun'er frowned slightly. She disliked the Hun Clan, and so did her brother Xiao Yan. Whether or not to accept Hun Yu's suggestion required discussion. She turned to him quietly. "Brother Xiao Yan, what should we do? Hun Yu's proposal must have some trap behind it. Perhaps he just wants cannon fodder to die in his stead."

Xiao Yan's gaze fell on Hun Yu. His face was expressionless, but his eyes were cold. After being targeted by the Hall of Souls multiple times, how could he possibly harbor goodwill toward the Hun Clan? Hun Yu, sensing Xiao Yan's look, met his eyes without flinching. His smile remained gentle and courteous, warm as spring sunlight—but that only made him more dangerous.

To an outsider, the two might have looked like old friends meeting after many years, exchanging a silent understanding. Xiao Yan's lip twitched. 'A wolf in sheep's clothing—his clan's darkness hidden beneath a polished veneer.' Unlike the typical Hun Clan members, who practically had "villain" written on their foreheads, this one concealed his fangs behind honeyed words.

Taking a deep breath, Xiao Yan suppressed the murderous intent rising within. His tone was low and calm. "Agree to it. Our goal is the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree. And he's right—if we don't break through the Beast Tide, no one will reach it."

Gu Xun'er nodded softly, her clear eyes shining with a trace of warmth. Xiao Yan wasn't blinded by rage—he could still think rationally. "Then we agree."

Behind them, the Gu Clan members exchanged looks. Figures like Gu Qingyang wore complicated expressions. The aloof flower of the Gu Clan—peerless in talent, beauty, and wisdom—had somehow fallen for this man who looked so ordinary. Even with the remnant bloodline of the Xiao Clan, how could that compare to the Gu Clan's divine lineage? Gu Xun'er possessed the potential to reach High Level Dou Saint, while Xiao Yan's breakthrough to that realm was still uncertain at best.

"I, the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe, have no objections," said a refined young man with multicolored eyes, a faint smile curling at his lips. "Brother Hun Yu's proposal is sound. These vicious beasts are too savage for any single clan to handle. Now is not the time for private grudges. The Hun Clan even volunteers to lead the vanguard—what greater sincerity could there be?"

"Well said!" came another voice. It was Liu Cang, vice leader of the Profound Sky Sect, his arms folded across his chest as he looked provocatively at Xiao Yan. "In a time like this, those who cling to personal hatred lack the vision for the greater good. My Profound Sky Sect supports Young Master Hun Yu's proposal!"

The Profound Sky Sect had long been hostile toward the Flower Sect and Falling Star Pavilion. Since the Medicine Sovereign Yao Chen brokered an alliance between those two forces, Profound Sky Sect bore a lasting grudge. The Hall of Souls naturally seized the opportunity to draw them closer. Over time, their cooperation deepened—enough that Profound Sky Sect now acted as an informal ally of the Hall of Souls.

The faces of the Gu Clan members darkened. While Gu Xun'er and Xiao Yan deliberated, both the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe and Profound Sky Sect had already agreed, and Liu Cang's provocation made it worse. If they refused now, they'd be branded as selfish. If they agreed, they'd appear to follow in others' footsteps.

Xiao Yan glared fiercely at Liu Cang. That man was truly despicable—the main architect behind Profound Sky Sect's recent attacks on the Flower Sect and Falling Star Pavilion. Though his "vice leader" title carried political water, his cultivation was genuine—Peak Dou Zun. With Xiao Yan's current strength, fighting him head-on would be extremely difficult.

Gu Xun'er's eyes were cold, her tone crisp and emotionless—the voice of the Gu Clan's princess. "The Gu Clan agrees."

Xiao Yan's gaze shifted slightly as he folded his hands behind his back. "The Falling Star Pavilion agrees as well."

As soon as the two spoke, Hun Yu's smile deepened, his eyes narrowing to slits. "Excellent. It gladdens me that Miss Xun'er and Brother Xiao Yan can put aside past misunderstandings. Truly admirable." His words, though courteous, subtly placed himself above them, as if the alliance were his to command. His cunning was evident.

With several top-tier factions taking the lead, the others had little reason to hesitate. The alliance was quickly established.

The first rule: no ally may attack another during the alliance—violation will result in everyone joining forces to kill the offender.

The second: all members must give their full effort; deliberate concealment of strength that causes an ally's death will not be forgiven.

The third… and so on.

Dozens of such rules were set, though everyone knew they were mere formalities. No one would truly risk their life for "allies." Just saying the words was considered magnanimous enough.

In a dark corner, three cloaked old men whispered among themselves, grinning wickedly. "Heh, these young fools love showing off. Taking the vanguard means facing the fiercest wave of the Beast Tide—let them die for glory."

"Still, the ones leading the charge aren't weak. Their strength rivals ours even at their age."

"Tch, such a waste. If we could harvest one or two of those women's essence, our cultivation might soar. With their Dou Di bloodlines, they'd be far more nourishing than any ordinary mortal girl."

They chuckled lewdly to themselves but dared not act; their fear outweighed their lust.

Once the majority had agreed, Hun Yu felt satisfied. He raised his hand sharply. "Move out! So many elites gathered here—how could a mere Beast Tide stop us? Break through the Beast Tide and seek the Ancient Tree. Now is the time!"

With his command, Hun Yu led the Hun Clan powerhouses forward. Behind him, countless experts—Jiu Feng, Liu Cang, Gu Xun'er, Gu Qingyang, and others—followed in unison.

Though Liu Xi had earlier culled much of the Beast Tide, it remained terrifyingly vast. Deafening beastly roars and clouds of blood vapor filled the air, spreading outward in waves of violent pressure.

"Charge!" Hun Yu roared. He and the Hun Clan unleashed overwhelming Dou Qi, their energies exploding like a storm, slicing through the swarming beasts and carving open a path.

The others were spurred into action, releasing their Dou Qi in unison, rising into the sky to form a sharp spearhead formation.

Man and beast clashed—an earth-shattering battle erupted!
