Gu Xun'er remained calm from start to finish. The reason was simple — when everyone else was pulled from the illusion with nothing, only Xiao Yan had gained something. The moment she saw that, she had already crushed her spatial jade slip to summon a senior from the Gu Clan.
In the sky, a pitch-black spatial passage split open. A majestic Dou Saint's pressure spread out as a white-robed figure slowly stepped forth.
The crowd was instantly shocked. Their gazes darted between the space tunnel and the white-robed elder who emerged, disbelief filling every face.
"Dou Saint!"
Someone gasped aloud, and the surrounding experts shuddered, their expressions turning fearful. For their entire lives, their pursuit had been to reach the Dou Saint realm — even breaking into Half Saint would be a dream. Yet now, a genuine Dou Saint had appeared before their eyes.
And judging from that overwhelming aura — he was clearly no friend!
The Gu Clan members, including Gu Qingyang, all sighed in relief. Nothing could lift their spirits more than seeing one of their clan's Dou Saints arrive.
Xiao Yan too felt a weight lift from his chest. He knew the Bodhisattva Seed in his hand was now safe. Even if he faced some cold looks later, once his strength rose, a little humiliation was nothing.
'Thirty years east of the river, thirty years west — never look down on the young when they're poor.'
The white-robed elder stepped out from the spatial rift, his hands clasped behind his back, standing tall in the air. His hair was white, yet his features were youthful — a refined, immortal-like air surrounding him. Under his sacred might, no one dared to resist.
Gu Xun'er's delicate face remained indifferent. Her voice was calm as a cold spring as her jade-like finger pointed at the uneasy Hun Yu. "Elder Wuya, during this trip to the Ancient Wasteland Region, we were fortunate to be… 'taken care of' by Young Master Hun Yu. Please take him back with us to the Gu Clan — we owe him our gratitude."
"Oh?"
The elder known as Elder Wuya turned to look at the handsome, gentle young man. A faint, warm smile spread across his face. "Since Xun'er has said so, then please, Young Master Hun Yu, accompany us. My Gu Clan is hospitable — we won't make things hard for you."
Hun Yu's mouth twitched. If one didn't know the situation, they might think he was being invited to a banquet. But go to the Gu Clan? He'd rather die!
Taking a deep breath, Hun Yu forced himself to stand straight. Even under that Saintly pressure, he kept his composure, wearing the same gentle smile. "That won't be necessary. If I were to visit the Gu Clan uninvited, my elders would surely blame me…"
Before he could finish, Elder Wuya frowned slightly — for the void trembled once more. Another spatial channel tore open, spreading a chilling and sinister aura that made everyone's souls tremble in fear.
From within the darkness, a black-robed figure slowly walked out. That aura was cold, violent, and no weaker than that of the Gu Clan's Dou Saint.
"Heh, it's you again, you old ghost. What an unpleasant aura. Hall of Souls First Tianzun!"
Elder Wuya's voice carried both disdain and wariness.
Under his hood, the skeletal face of the First Tianzun of the Hall of Souls twisted, his lips twitching with rage. He hadn't expected to run into this wretched old man again.
Last time, Wuya had delayed him, allowing Xiao Yan to destroy the Human Hall. The loss of countless years of soul essence and the death of Bone You had caused him severe punishment. Now, vengeance burned like fire.
Enemies meeting face-to-face — hatred flared red.
The First Tianzun sneered darkly. "Jie jie… You again. You slipped away last time, but this time, let's see where you can run!"
For those watching below, it was a sight beyond imagination — real Dou Saints confronting one another. For many, this was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness a Dou Saint-level battle.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Suddenly, the space quaked again. Everyone's attention turned upward as a third spatial passage tore open. From it emerged another figure — an old man with a proud bearing.
As his gaze swept across the sky, his expression changed subtly. His eyes darted between the Gu Clan's and Hall of Souls' Dou Saints. Though he maintained a calm facade, his heart wasn't steady — he was only a 1-Star Dou Saint, while both of them were 2-Star.
"Ahem… Jiu Feng, what's going on here?"
The old man coughed lightly, flying toward Jiu Feng to put some distance between himself and the other two. His tone, though strained, carried a veneer of authority.
Jiu Feng respectfully stepped forward, bowing slightly. He quickly recounted what had occurred and finally gestured toward Xiao Yan. "Elder Ying Huang, that man is Xiao Yan — the one who obtained the Bodhisattva Seed."
"Oh?" Ying Huang placed his hands behind his back and looked Xiao Yan over with interest. "So it's this little one. To think you've caused the Gu Clan and Hall of Souls to quarrel — quite impressive."
Xiao Yan's heart tensed. He hadn't expected the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe to send a Dou Saint as well. Now the Gu Clan's Dou Saint was occupied by the Hall of Souls' First Tianzun, leaving him completely vulnerable.
If that elder so much as had a thought, Xiao Yan wouldn't even have time to flee before being crushed.
In the sky, the two 2-Star Dou Saints faced off. Elder Wuya frowned, while the First Tianzun sneered wickedly.
Ying Huang, though weaker, now held the power to tip the balance — and judging from his stance, he leaned closer to the Hall of Souls. The balance of power was shifting.
The First Tianzun's cold laughter echoed. "Elder Ying Huang, if we join forces to take this old fossil down and capture Xiao Yan, we can explore the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree together and share the spoils evenly."
Elder Wuya's expression darkened as he warned, "Elder Ying Huang, this is between my Gu Clan and the Hall of Souls. Your Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe need not intervene — or are you ready to pay the price for meddling?"
Saintly might rolled across the heavens, shaking the entire region.
At this point, the fate of all below — Hun Yu, Jiu Feng, even the old monsters of Central Plains — was no longer theirs to decide. The outcome now lay in the hands of the three Dou Saints in the sky.
Every lesser powerhouse shrank back, not daring to move. Even a passing glance from a Dou Saint could erase them from existence.
Inside the Tree Spirit's space, Liu Xi watched everything unfold. When the Dou Saints of the Gu Clan, Hall of Souls, and Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe appeared one after another, he could only chuckle.
"A bloodbath sparked by a single Bodhisattva Seed," he mused.
He waited quietly for the show to begin. If these three Dou Saints truly fought, it would be spectacular — even one fallen Dou Saint would shake the continent.
If enmity deepened between the clans, a war was inevitable. Liu Xi couldn't care less who won; he only hoped both sides would bleed.
Still, he knew it was unlikely.
First, the Hall of Souls' strength ran deep. If war broke out, the Gu Clan alone couldn't resist — only the unity of the six clans could.
Second, the Hun Clan's leader, Hun Tiandi, was terrifyingly patient. Once he acted, it would be to annihilate half the six clans in one strike, paving the way for domination.
'Fight… The sooner you start your war, the better. Disrupt the Hall of Souls' plans. Otherwise, once Hun Tiandi completes his thousand-year preparation, he'll crush the six clans and rule the continent. At least… buy me more time.'
