"Go to hell!"
Xiao Yan gritted his teeth, eyes blazing with murderous fury as he glared at Hun Yu. The hatred burning in his chest could devour worlds. To steal a man's woman was an unforgivable sin. And Hun Yu's calm, almost mocking words—"Let's settle things today," "Brother Xiao Yan can be our witness," "I'm sure Father-in-law will understand"—each one stoked that fury higher.
If looks could kill, Hun Yu would already have been slaughtered a thousand times—his soul crushed, his bones ground to dust, and his ashes spat upon as Xiao Yan roared, "You bastard! How dare you covet my woman!"
But reality was cruel.
Gu Xun'er frowned deeply, her golden eyes scanning their surroundings. Hun Yu wasn't alone. Four Dou Zuns from the Hall of Souls stood at his side—each one a High Level expert, their combined pressure heavy as mountains. There was no room for negotiation; begging would only inflame his lust.
"Gu Clan's honor is not something an outsider can defile," she said coldly. "You'll have only my corpse—and the wrath of the entire Gu Clan."
Hun Yu's gaze slid slowly over her delicate form, the flawless lines of her figure, her cold yet ethereal face. His smile deepened. He found her more than suitable—perhaps after extracting her divine bloodline, he'd bring her back to the Hun Realm as a personal plaything to flaunt before others.
His eyes shifted toward Xiao Yan, still glaring at him like a wounded beast. Hun Yu chuckled, flicking his sleeve lazily. "Everyone has a weakness, Miss Xun'er. Even you. Once I seize that weakness, even the proud daughter of the Gu Clan will kneel before me."
Gu Xun'er's heart trembled; her hand tightened protectively around Xiao Yan's arm. Her aura surged—majestic and cold—as she stared daggers at Hun Yu. "You dare!"
"Why don't you find out?" Hun Yu's grin turned razor-sharp. Darkness welled from within him, his killing intent chilling the air. His Dou Qi erupted like a tide, every bit as fierce as Gu Xun'er's.
"Form the array! Do not let Xiao Yan escape. As for the Gu Clan's princess—she's mine. Tonight, I'll see what makes the Gu Clan's jewel so divine!"
"Yes!"
The four Dou Zuns laughed darkly as they moved, spreading thick black mist throughout the cavern. The suffocating miasma devoured the light, plunging the cave into oppressive darkness. The tension was so taut it could shatter at a breath.
Gu Xun'er's expression remained composed but her mind raced. She could fight Hun Yu, but Xiao Yan was the weakness—injured, defenseless. If he were captured, she would have no choice but to yield.
Xiao Yan's eyes were wild, like those of a cornered animal. Rage boiled in him, but exhaustion made his body tremble. Every moment reminded him of his own helplessness, of how far he still was from true strength. If Xun'er suffers because of me…
He clenched his teeth until blood filled his mouth. To him, Gu Xun'er wasn't just a companion—she was his destined partner. If she were humiliated because of him, he didn't know if he could ever lift his head again.
Hun Yu's black robe rippled in the aura-laden wind. His smile never faded as his gaze lingered shamelessly on Gu Xun'er's figure. "You're not leaving this cave alive."
Before his voice had faded, he struck.
With a flick of his sleeve, a chain of black light burst forth, twisting like a venomous serpent. It slithered through the air at a bizarre angle, striking straight toward Gu Xun'er.
She reacted instantly. A slender hand swept across her chest; golden flames bloomed in her palm, forming a long, radiant whip. The chain and whip collided midair.
Chi! Chi! Chi!
The sound of burning filled the air. The black chain pulsed with frigid energy, its chill capable of piercing flesh and corroding the soul. But the flame was stronger—the Gold Emperor Incinerating Heavenly Flame, fourth on the Heavenly Flame Ranking, renowned for its ferocity and power to burn the heavens themselves.
Within the sea of black mist, golden light clashed violently with shadow. Hun Yu's every move was stifled by the Heavenly Flame; he had to act with caution lest the slightest misstep consume him whole.
Boom!
Their palms collided, and the void trembled. Waves of energy exploded outward, whipping their robes tight against their forms. The fierce gust outlined Gu Xun'er's flawless silhouette, every curve sharp and radiant against the flickering gold.
Hun Yu stumbled backward several steps, scorched marks already marring his hand. He looked down, grimacing, then forced a laugh, eyes glinting with twisted admiration—and envy. "As expected of the Gu Clan's prodigy. If I fight you head-on, I might indeed lose… but—look behind you."
Gu Xun'er's face paled. She had been focused entirely on Hun Yu, leaving Xiao Yan unattended. Her pupils contracted as she turned.
Where Xiao Yan had been standing, there was now only a figure wrapped tightly in black chains—bound like a cocoon, swallowed by the thick mists. He hung limply, unconscious.
"Brother Xiao Yan!" Gu Xun'er cried, voice trembling.
"Don't move," Hun Yu warned, smiling darkly. "Take another step, and I'll have them kill him where he stands. Think you're faster than my Soul Chains?"
Her foot, midair, froze.
Turning back slowly, she faced him again, biting down so hard her lip bled. Her eyes blazed gold, flames flickering within, promising annihilation.
"Hun Yu, release him!"
The words came sharp and commanding—but in Hun Yu's ears, they sounded like pleading.
He laughed. "Release him? Oh, that's not impossible. He's just a clown. Killing him would take but a flick of my finger." His grin widened, teeth gleaming white beneath the dim light. Greed and madness churned in his gaze.
'That pride of yours… I'll rip it away piece by piece. Let's see how long you can stay pure.'
Hun Yu's thoughts turned darker, satisfaction rising like poison. Everything was under his control—the perfect setup, the perfect weakness.
"Now," he said slowly, savoring every word, "take off your clothes."
Gu Xun'er froze, then trembled with fury. Her golden eyes blazed like twin suns. "Hun Yu… you dare!"
"Still haven't realized your situation, have you?" he sneered. "Do it."
The black mist surged. It enveloped Xiao Yan's cocoon completely, and a strangled cry echoed within. The chains tightened, their chill seeping into his bones. Xiao Yan's eyes snapped open, only to twist in agony.
"Ah!"
"Stop!" Gu Xun'er's voice broke the silence, trembling with rage and despair.
Her face paled; sorrow clouded her golden pupils. Lowering her head, she bit her lip so hard blood streaked down her chin. Her delicate figure quivered, a fragile sight of defiance and helplessness that only inflamed Hun Yu's twisted desire further.
