Yao Yunting entered the Beast Region, presenting his visiting token and stating his purpose, only to be interrogated by several Dou Saint-level experts. Each of the ancient beast tribes had produced powerful tribe leaders, now serving as generals commanding legions of magical beasts that stretched across the heavens and earth.
The sheer might of that army made Yao Yunting's heart tremble. The Yao Clan could not muster such a force. Neither could the Lei Clan nor the Yan Clan. Perhaps… only the Hun Clan could.
He comforted himself with the thought that, while the magical beasts possessed overwhelming numbers, they still lagged behind the Ancient Clans when it came to true top-tier experts.
Before long, Yao Yunting was granted an audience with the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe. It was Zhu Li, now a Dou Saint, who personally came to the Beast Region to meet him.
At the start, their conversation was cordial. Yao Yunting, maintaining a veneer of calm, spoke passionately about the Hall of Souls' deceit and the Hun Clan's boundless ambition. Between his words, he cursed the Hun Clan as the source of chaos that plagued the entire Dou Qi Continent.
He was not wrong.
Zhu Li harbored his own disgust toward the Hall of Souls—especially after their earlier attempt to use the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe against the Ancient Void Dragons. His tone inevitably carried traces of distaste.
Hearing this, Yao Yunting secretly rejoiced. He believed the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe could be persuaded to join their cause. After all, the Four Clans were already bleeding under the Hall of Souls' manipulation. They were desperate to unite, to wipe the Hun Clan from existence.
He thus stated his intention—to meet the Dragon Emperor personally and deliver an invitation to attend the upcoming Yao Clan Medicinal Ceremony.
However, Zhu Li refused without hesitation. The Ancient Dragon Island was not a place anyone could simply visit, and the Dragon Emperor was not someone anyone could just meet.
Though a Dou Saint, Yao Yunting felt humiliated. To be told he lacked the qualifications to even set foot on the island—it stung.
Still, he had come with a mission. No matter his displeasure, he could only suppress it and politely request Zhu Li to seek the Dragon Emperor's approval once more.
Zhu Li returned to the island and reported the matter to Zi Yan, who fell into contemplation.
According to Liu Xi's plan, the idea was to allow one faction to gather the Ancient Jades, follow them to the Ancient Emperor's Cave Mansion, and, when they opened it, seize the opportunity to rescue Zhu Kun.
Now that the Four Clan Alliance had extended goodwill, Zi Yan was unsure whether to accept. As she hesitated, Liu Xi finally returned.
Outside the main hall, Liu Xi arrived carrying Erlong in his arms, wearing a slightly helpless smile. Before him stood Xiao Yixian, Zi Yan, and Qing Lin, all staring blankly. Erlong's transformed form bore an uncanny resemblance to Liu Xi—making her parentage rather… obvious.
The truth was written on their faces.
Xiao Yixian inhaled deeply, her expression calm, though her heart churned like a storm. 'It's over. I've been beaten to it… he even has a child now…'
With a feigned light tone but a trace of sourness, she said, "Young Master, and who might this little girl be? Why didn't you bring her mother along? We should all get acquainted."
"Father, who are they?" Erlong blinked innocently.
The three women's faces all stiffened. Father? That single word sealed it.
Liu Xi rubbed his nose, smiling wryly.
"Xian'er, Zi Yan, Qing Lin—you all know me well. If I had… shared a bed with anyone, you'd certainly be aware of it."
His teasing tone and knowing look made all three blush slightly.
Zi Yan muttered, "That's hard to say. You've been gone for two whole months…"
Liu Xi chuckled, shaking his head.
"It's not like laying an egg. Ordinary humans need ten months for a child. If this were truly my bloodline, how could it be so fast?"
Then, with a softer tone, he explained, "She's the Nine Mysterious Golden Lightning, whom I helped condense a soul. Calling her my daughter isn't wrong."
Tightening his hold around Erlong, Liu Xi's lips curved mischievously.
"Erlong, these three… are your mothers."
"Mother!" Erlong responded immediately, voice crisp and sweet.
All three women froze, their faces turning scarlet. To be called "Mother" before ever having a child—it was too much!
"Let's talk inside," Liu Xi said quickly, noticing the curious looks of nearby elders who were already gossiping.
The three women snapped out of their daze and hurriedly followed him into the main hall. Soon after, Erlong was passed into Xiao Yixian's arms, where she nestled obediently, whispering softly.
Once they understood Erlong's true nature, the three women's gazes softened. A gentle maternal light shone in their eyes. That single "Mother" had melted their hearts completely.
For his part, Liu Xi didn't mind being ignored; seeing Erlong get along with them was more than enough.
After a short discussion, Zi Yan explained the current situation. Liu Xi frowned briefly before understanding dawned on him.
"So it's already reached that point. The Medicinal Ceremony should indeed be attended—but we'll go cautiously. We can't afford to be someone else's pawn."
He wasn't sure whether the ceremony would still occur now that the Hall of Souls' plot had been exposed.
By his calculations, the Void Devouring Flame had likely finished refining the Shi Clan's bloodline by now—granting the Hun Clan yet another 9-Star Dou Saint. The extraction of millions of clan members' imperial blood would have vastly bolstered their strength.
Liu Xi cared little for that, however. His true interest lay in the Heavenly Flames that would appear during the Medicinal Ceremony—and whether there might be a chance to isolate the Void Devouring Flame. Facing both Hun Tiandi and the Void Devouring Flame together was suicide; he needed to act before they united.
'Time… is running short.'
Zi Yan nodded absentmindedly, her attention still half on Erlong.
Liu Xi could only sigh. 'Truly—once there's a child, the husband is forgotten.'
He recalled how powerful beings often struggled to bear children, but those who did had offspring of extraordinary talent—like Gu Xun'er, born with divine blood after Gu Yuan spent nearly his entire life trying.
As for himself, perhaps fate had simply not aligned with Xiao Yixian before. Or maybe… her Woeful Poison Body had made conception difficult.
He fell into brief thought. 'Well… I'll just have to keep trying.'
Later that day, the long-awaited moment arrived—Yao Yunting was finally granted an audience with the Dragon Emperor.
Five individuals went to receive him, led by Elder Qing Shan, a 3-Star Dou Saint, accompanied by four 1-Star Dou Saints. It was a statement of both respect and power—a way to remind the Four Clans just how strong the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe truly was.
Even this partial display placed them on equal footing with the Lei and Yan Clans—and that was enough.
A message would be sent clearly: If you wish to negotiate, show sincerity. If you dare plot against us, prepare to face the Dragons' wrath.
Yao Yunting was shocked, though not yet terrified. After all, if the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe couldn't even muster a few Dou Saints, they wouldn't be worth courting at all.
But upon arriving at the Ancient Dragon Island, hidden deep within the void, his awe deepened. Without a guide, even a Dou Saint could wander forever in the boundless darkness, unable to locate the island's position.
And this, he soon realized… was only the beginning of his astonishment.
