Chapter 132: The Autobots' Secret Strike
"How did they end up together? I don't remember giving any attack orders!"
Just as the giant chimera appeared in the sky, Starscream—once again in disguise—showed up too. However, the battle against the Romans had already ended long ago. The official report stated that the mighty Hunnic cavalry had annihilated the Roman elite infantry regiments, leading to the gradual collapse of the Roman Empire's power. Its territories and former citizens would soon become Hunnic mines.
The giant dragon wondered where Meilai had gone, but upon seeing the limping robotic saber-toothed tiger and the triumphant chimera in the air, an expression of understanding appeared on his face.
"A friendly duel is best left alone. Don't destroy that little cat—we still have plenty of work for them!"
It seemed that this "Shadow" was easily fooled by the combined act of Red Spider and Storm Chimera. As for The Fallen, he hadn't even asked about him. At that moment, he was studying a map of the mining regions surrounding the Roman Empire with the Hunnic chief. They needed to establish a temporary supply station there—at least to help The Fallen replace parts for his Primeval Beast.
"He… he… he bullied Seven..."
Perhaps due to an incomplete transformation, the mechanical Saber-tooth looked wronged but stammered, unable to speak clearly. Meanwhile, the Tarantula Warrior and Scorpion Warrior who happened to be passing by were already laughing uncontrollably.
"Hahaha! It's just a friendly spar between comrades, why take it so seriously? You should go rest and have your boss replace a few small parts—otherwise you'll just slow us down!"
Watching the scene, even the giant dragon and the rest of the Predacons ignored everything else, entertained by Starscream's magnificent acting. None of them realized who the real clown was.
"Enough! Hurry up and supervise those guys cleaning the battlefield! We've lost several Predacons this time. The Romans' tenacity exceeded our expectations. However, we'll probably never face such a fierce nation again. Before attacking the Decepticon rebel base on the African continent, we still have to help those foolish Huns unify this land. It's said there are rare mineral deposits in the north, and our Decepticons need special components to extract them—so stay alert!"
Indeed, analyzing the current world situation, aside from the mysterious dragon descendants in the Eastern continent, the Romans were likely humanity's strongest military force. Therefore, if this people were completely destroyed, the backbone of the entire Western world would collapse. That's why the Xiongnu Chanyu planned to seize this opportunity to unify the Western continent and fulfill his ambition of becoming king.
But did they really think things would go that smoothly?
While these Primeval Beasts marched westward, far away on an island nation known as the British Empire, a group of unknown visitors arrived at its most powerful military fortress. Yet this meeting would never appear in history books, for no ruler would ever admit contact with such an advanced extraterrestrial civilization.
"Hehe, it's an honor for us to meet the legendary Alliance of Saints! We've heard stories about you since childhood, but we never imagined that these mythic figures would stand before us!"
"Yes! Though our Queen couldn't come in person, I'll report everything that happens here! I never thought we'd one day fight alongside these legendary heroes—it makes my blood boil just thinking about it!"
It turned out that the ones meeting these valiant Western warriors were none other than the veteran Autobots who had escaped death. Their transformed forms had appeared more than once in their ancestors' records—for instance, a fire-breathing dragon or a mighty lord who ruled the seas.
According to the rules established when the Autobots first arrived on this planet, they could not directly interfere in human wars—unless the Decepticons had joined the opposing side. For example, ancient genealogies of these Western nobles described how, a thousand years ago, The Fallen—commanding his Predacons and human servants—had been utterly defeated by the Autobots and their allies.
Now, The Fallen had returned after regaining his power, and history seemed to have entered a new cycle. Yet the current situation did not look favorable for either humanity or the Autobots.
"I won't say much more," said the dragon-shaped Autobot. "This time, we've split into two groups. We veterans want to see if the descendants of our old friends are still as strong as ever, while our new allies have gone east in search of aid. Hopefully, we can work together to end this crisis!"
He didn't explicitly tell them that he and his comrades had already fought The Fallen's forces again—and lost. The human warriors before him, both in number and strength, were clearly inferior to the enemy.
But now was the time for the Autobots to act. Even without the certainty of victory against these new Decepticons, trying was still better than doing nothing.
"Hahaha! I must tell my elders about today, so they'll know the legendary Dragon Knight isn't just a myth! I'll rewrite my family's glory!"
"I've heard those Huns have been acting arrogantly in Europe lately! Let's wipe out all the monsters surrounding them! With the help of the Great God, we'll surely succeed!"
Since none of these old Autobots spoke the full truth, the human alliance was quickly assembled—and the Fallen's forces immediately sensed the ruse.
"Heh, I never thought these guys wouldn't flee east to save their own hides, but instead sneak right up to us. Seems we're in for some fun. Let's teach them a lesson. How are the preparations going?"
Although The Fallen's Transformers seemed to outnumber the enemy, with that massive Chimera machine and the mighty Shadow Sword, there was little to worry about.
