Clang!!! Clang!!! Clang!!! Clang!!!
The hammer and the sword collided four times in a mere ten seconds, steel against steel, sparks flying around both kings.
Robert looked at Rhaegar's sword, which could now barely be called a sword; the edge had already been destroyed by his hammer, with notches and cracks appearing along the blade. It was no longer a sword, but a slightly pointed piece of iron.
Smiling to the point of showing his blood-stained teeth, Robert laughed like never before. He let go of his hammer and punched Rhaegar's unnaturally beautiful face. The Dragon King was caught by surprise and felt a sharp pain in his nose and mouth.
Rhaegar didn't need to look to see that his nose was broken and gushing blood like crazy. However, he didn't let the blow go unpunished and simply headbutted Robert's face.
"You're not as tough as you look." Spitting blood, Rhaegar said in a cold and calm tone. He threw the sword away, as it was a useless weapon at that moment. It couldn't even make a scratch on the Storm King's polished and robust armor.
"That sentence sounded quite ambiguous; did you look at my dick and like it?" Robert sprayed blood and spoke in a sarcastic tone.
"I fear I wouldn't even see anything." Rhaegar replied in an equally sarcastic tone.
"Besides, this battle is just beginning, I can do this all day." In a fighting stance, Rhaegar spoke in a calm tone and advanced without any hesitation.
Robert snorted and also advanced; both kings began the most primal battle in the world, a fistfight.
Both armies did not move; the soldiers looked at the kings with looks of admiration. At this moment, they no longer seemed like superior beings (to the commoners), but humans just like them.
Robert kicked Rhaegar's leg and punched the incestuous bastard's face; he had never felt as happy as at this moment. The feeling of hitting Rhaegar's face was simply that of a thousand whores. Of course, he also didn't escape the dragon king's attacks unscathed.
Both their faces showed purple and red bruises; even teeth were missing from both their mouths. However, neither of them stopped. Both hated each other to the extreme, having wanted to kill each other for a long time. Even if it was unlikely they would actually kill each other at that moment, they still wanted to try to finish each other off.
"I've dreamed of this day for fifteen years." Punching Rhaegar's face, Robert shouted loudly; his blue eyes shone with a mixture of hatred, anger, and resentment, there was even a touch of joy on the Storm King's face.
"I say the same. Still remember bending the knee to me fifteen years ago? I thought you were going to suck my dick." Rhaegar countered the enemy's words with a touch of sarcasm and irony; his bleeding face only made things even more cruel.
A trace of anger flashed in Robert's eyes; he advanced with a roar and hit the Dragon King's black armor chest squarely. Obviously, besides hurting Robert himself, it didn't cause any kind of damage to Rhaegar.
"Stupid." Rhaegar commented before punching Robert's chin. The man staggered and seemed dizzy, but soon balanced himself and stood upright.
Robert clenched his teeth and tried to concentrate, but his vision was blurred; Rhaegar's body seemed to split into two and then into three. He knew he was about to lose consciousness. However, he couldn't!!!
If he were actually defeated by Rhaegar, the already low morale of the army would simply plummet. This he could not accept. Showing a cruel look, he opened his mouth and bit his own tongue hard. The force was so great that blood ran from the wound.
(Note: By the way, committing suicide by biting your own tongue is quite unrealistic; stop reading Chinese novels!)
However, it was the pain that cleared his clouded mind. He looked at Rhaegar and realized he was no longer splitting into three.
Rhaegar watched everything with a calm look; he raised Robert's danger level by a notch. He was truly a man cruel to others, but even more cruel to himself. He was a truly problematic opponent.
When Rhaegar was about to start fighting again, he felt the ground tremble. At the same time, the scouts' cries rang out across the battlefield.
"It's the Knights of the Vale!!!!"
Rhaegar's face changed drastically upon hearing the cries, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. Wasn't Eddard guarding the entrance to the Vale? How did Jon Arryn reach the Trident? Wasn't he afraid of being caught from behind?
In a war, if an army is caught off guard by the enemy army, it has already lost the battle.
Rhaegar didn't know how Jon Arryn had arrived, but at that moment, he no longer cared about those questions, for thirty thousand knights of the Vale had arrived to join the war!
Robert laughed, he looked at Rhaegar and spoke in an arrogant tone. "Those salt-raping bastards served to attack Moat Cailin."
Bite!!!
Rhaegar immediately thought of the bay between the North and the Vale of Arryn. The king hadn't even thought that Balon would actually attack through the Bite, but thinking that White Harbor was without its defense fleet, he realized that this was indeed a great place to attack Moat Cailin's flank.
There were many questions in Rhaegar's mind, but at that moment, he looked at Robert, nodded to Arthur, and retreated.
Robert looked at Arthur Dayne, and thinking of his current state, set aside the idea of killing Rhaegar and also retreated.
However, looking not far away, he saw the elite squad he had trained so hard lying on the ground in pools of blood. The Storm King's face turned somber, but looking at the two members of the Kingsguard, he felt that his men hadn't died by luck.
Barristan Selmy and Jonothor Darry, both famous warriors, especially Barristan the Bold, a true monster on the battlefield.
Rhaegar didn't know Robert's thoughts. At this moment, he was in his tent, receiving medical care.
"He finished you off." Cadmus entered the tent and, seeing the state his good brother was in, spoke in an amused tone.
"You should see how I left Robert." Rhaegar spoke in a cold and arrogant tone. He sounded like a teenager after beating the school bully.
"I know, I was watching." Cadmus sat down in front of Rhaegar and took two potions from his bag. "Drink this, it will help you recover."
Rhaegar did not hesitate and drank both potions, he couldn't help but be surprised by the citrus taste. At the same time, he felt his body relax and the pain gradually disappear.
"This doesn't heal you instantly, it's a gradual healing." Cadmus commented, seeing Rhaegar visibly relax.
"Do you think I had a chance to kill him at that moment?" Rhaegar asked, remembering the state Robert was in.
"No." Cadmus was direct in his answer. "Although it seemed he was alone, he had six Shadow Children hidden in his shadow. That witch wouldn't let Robert die easily."
Rhaegar's face turned somber upon hearing that there were six demonic creatures hidden in Robert's shadow. Honestly, he felt a touch of fear and resentment. "I really hate that damn witch."
His anger at Melisandre grew to a point where he wanted to kill the witch at any moment. He simply didn't want such a dangerous element on the loose to cause so much chaos.
"However, Jon Arryn's arrival is something surprising." Rhaegar let out a sigh and spoke in a helpless tone. He planned everything with Eddard and others, but because of Balon, his plan to keep the Vale isolated for some time proved useless at this moment.
"Who would have imagined he would attack through the Bite?" Cadmus was also helpless; pirates knew very well how to hide. This has been proven throughout history. Those bastards were so slippery that they escaped the Portuguese Empire and the Spanish Empire at their peak. In this world it was no different, pirates were equally slippery.
"Now that Jon Arryn has arrived, things have gotten complicated. Robert gained thirty thousand more soldiers, reaching almost a hundred thousand, a number close to ours." Rhaegar said in a slightly helpless tone. He looked at Cadmus and continued speaking:
"Fortunately, Eddard is still in Moat Cailin, otherwise, Robert and Jon Arryn would focus only on us. But with the Northern Army behind them, they have to divide their attention so as not to be attacked from the front and back."
"Look on the bright side, our conspiracy is coming to fruition. I went to see how things were in Riverrun and the show was quite spectacular, Tywin won the battle and is advancing towards the Trident." Cadmus said with a malicious smile.
Rhaegar was surprised and smiled, Tywin was an important piece in the conspiracy and would destroy the rebel army from within!
