Chapter 649 - The Harvest Begins

First, the most prominent forward section of the planet made contact with the light membrane.

There was no earth-shattering explosion, nor any flash of material annihilation. The point of contact resembled a pebble cast into a water surface, triggering ripples of brighter, more complex energy chains across the face of the membrane that rapidly diffused throughout the entire light field.

The engaged segment of the planet slipped smoothly into the radiance, passing through as if breaching a curtain of water, and vanished from the starry canopy of Pandora.

Immediately following, more sections breached. Continents, oceans, polar ice caps—the Yautja homeworld resembled a titanic sphere sinking into an ocean of another dimension, transiting the portal steadily and resolutely.

The portal framework endured unprecedented levels of structural stress. Its three master ring bands illuminated brilliantly, and the wraithbone and alloy architecture upon them vibrated subtly; yet, thanks to its exceptional design and pre-emptive reinforcement, it remained anchored firmly within space, completely unyielding.

The transit progression sustained for several minutes.

When the final trailing segment of the planet vanished behind the light membrane, the light rippled violently for a brief window before rapidly contracting and stabilizing, restoring to its original scale and luminosity.

The Yautja homeworld had completely vanished from beneath the starry skies of the Pandoran universe. Yet, it was not destroyed.

At the opposite end of the dimensional corridor, within the starry expanse of the pre-configured receiving sector in the Death World system, a cosmic interloper was arriving.

It initialized as a single pinpoint—a dark red light node whose peribles appeared slightly blurred due to the high-velocity dimensional passage. This node expanded rapidly, its profile gradually clarifying, revealing itself as the forward section of the Yautja homeworld. It "surfaced" out from that precise sector of space directly facing the observation windows of the Death World base main command center—a sector deliberately cleared and blanketed with massive gravitational balance arrays.

Unlike the smooth "sliding entry" enacted when passing through the Pandoran portal, here the planet appeared more as if it were being "pushed out" from beneath the water. Its emergence was accompanied by more pronounced spatial fluctuations. The gravitational balance arrays deployed across the receiving sector operated at full capacity, emitting brilliant blue luminescence to form an invisible force field net that gently "caught" the arriving planet, applying counter-forces to assist its deceleration and stabilize it into its pre-configured new orbit.

It was a secure orbit encircling the native star of the Death World system, yet situated at a moderate, customized distance that would not disrupt the existing planetary arrangements.

"Target has fully transited the dimensional corridor! Materializing within the Death World receiving sector!" the Tech-Priest at the Death World base reported, his voice tight with excitement.

"The gravitational balance arrays in the receiving sector are functioning nominally; the deceleration progression aligns with projections. The target orbit is stabilizing!" the Tech-Priest overseeing the receiving sector reported.

"The orbital portal framework in Pandoran orbit is stable, and the energy overhead required to maintain the corridor has begun to decline," excellent metrics routed back from the orbital sector as well.

Osiris watched the primary display grid. As the dark red planet gradually isolated its new positioning within the Death World system, ceased its trembling, and ultimately hung silently amidst the starry void, his countenance remained entirely devoid of expression; yet, a flash of absolute calculation crossed his eyes.

Almost concurrently, Eldrad's conscious link transmitted once more. This time, a nearly imperceptible layer of relief seemed to lace that eternally calm intonation.

"The physical displacement of the planetary entity is complete. Phase One and Phase Two of the secret ritual have concluded successfully. Lord Osiris, your faction's corridor technology and receiving execution were flawless," High Farseer Eldrad's voice echoed within Osiris's consciousness, carrying a professional, business-like detachment beneath its calm. "Now, we must focus our attention toward processing the most valuable asset remaining upon that world."

His intent was unmistakable.

The physical planet of the Yautja homeworld itself, alongside its geological architecture, the vast majority of its natural resources, and its foundational ecosystems, had been displaced successfully as the core asset of the transaction, falling squarely under Osiris's dominion. However, the highly advanced "tenants" residing upon that planet—the Predator civilization itself—their alignment and disposal constituted the deeper core of the campaign.

They were not obstacles requiring eradication, but the active biomass and genetic template source waiting to be "harvested" within the grand strategy—conscious, highly organized raw materials indispensable for the extraction of the specialized substance designated "Yautja Prime."

Osiris gave a subtle nod; everything fell within the established parameters of his strategic framework.

"Confirmed. Planetary displacement is complete. Commencing initialization of the 'Control and Extraction' protocols. Ensure your secret ritual maintains a stable, protective shroud across the planet's crust and critical biosphere segments, guaranteeing that during the oncoming civilization-tier suppression and harvesting operations, any potential extreme self-destructive measures or large-scale engagements enacted by the target race are isolated from causing irreversible degradation to the planet's foundational assets."

"It shall be done. Our side will sustain and reinforce the planet-scale stabilization force field, focusing specifically on isolating high-intensity energy releases capable of triggering cascading geological or ecological disasters. Then—may your dominion be precise and highly efficient, Lord Osiris."

The communication feed dialed back temporarily. Eldrad required his full psychic focus to maintain the protective force field across the Yautja homeworld, ensuring the ritual's solidification effect over the planet's overall framework could withstand the impending storm.

Osiris turned his cold gaze toward the newly settled planet within the Death World system, and toward the assets he had pre-deployed at the periphery of the receiving sector specifically engineered for "civilian harvesting."

Squads of Space Marines, Skitarii cohorts directly under his mandate, multiple Knight armors standing at full combat readiness, and select elements of collaborating Aeldari assault warriors—they had long since occupied their pre-allocated deployment vectors, resting like unsheathed blades waiting for release.

Now, the target planet sat utterly isolated and defenseless, severed from its native interstellar environment and potential reinforcement networks. It was time to execute planetfall, launching a grand campaign aimed at conquering, suppressing, and systematically controlling their entire indigenous civilization—the Predator species.

This was not annihilation, but a containment and captivity initiative of unprecedented scale, designed to establish a stable "raw material" supply chain for the subsequent, continuous extraction of "Yautja Prime."

Over in the Pandoran system, the energy illumination across the surface of the portal framework—having just finalized its monumental feat of planetary transit—gradually dimmed, reverting to a low-overhead standby configuration, as if the space-time ripples that swallowed an entire planet were merely an illusion.

The starry firmament seemingly returned to its ancient, unyielding serenity. Only the most perceptive interstellar observers might, in future star map comparisons, discover with bewilderment that a remote stellar sector had permanently lost a dark red companion star.

Yet, within the Death World system, an entirely new, heavily populated planet had been appended. It bore an entire civilization plunged into sudden distortion and chaos, yet one harboring immense biological and genetic value—waiting to be conquered, integrated into an entirely new order, and transformed into the core living asset reserves of a magnificent design.

Along the new orbit of the Yautja homeworld, the planet itself remained enveloped in that thin yet resilient psychic force field. This layer was not maintained to defend against external adversaries, but served as the protective canopy Eldrad sustained per the accord, engineered to isolate the oncoming surface warfare and prevent excessive energy bombardment from fracturing the planet's geological structural integrity and valuable natural resources.

Outside this force field envelope, the fleet dispatched from the Death World base had already assumed its positions. Multiple transport vessels—retrofitted and equipped with heavy assault pods and orbital bombardment calibration matrices—hovered across the planet's synchronous orbit under the flanking escort of the two Aeldari cruisers.

Directly beneath them lay the dark red, canyon-riven surface of the Yautja homeworld.
