Chapter 212 - Hunting the Byakugan!

The shield formed by the Truth-Seeking Orbs was a manifestation of dimensional suppression. Even after Yagura tapped into the Tailed Beast's chakra, he couldn't budge it an inch.

Shinichi understood this perfectly. Unless faced with Six Paths-level power or exceptionally potent space-time ninjutsu, ordinary attacks were mere child's play against him. With the intent to terrify the Mist into submission, he didn't mind revealing a few more "miracles."

In his heart, Shinichi had already decided the fates of these ninjas. Yagura, as the Mizukage, had to die. That was the price for ordering an attack on him; a leader must bear the responsibility for their decisions. As for the other Mist ninjas, Shinichi didn't intend to slaughter them all.

If everyone dies, who will return to the Mist Village to spread the word of my terror?

Only by instilling a deep, bone-chilling fear could he ensure the Mist would fall silent and stop causing trouble. Shinichi disliked complications; a quiet world was a better world.

His best move was to leave some of the upper echelon alive to maintain their social structure, provided they understood the gap between heaven and earth. Yagura was simply the "sacrificial chicken" he had chosen to slaughter for the "monkeys" to see.

The Ultimate Destructive Power

Yagura retracted his three chakra tails, staring at Shinichi—who was partially encased in the black shield—with a heavy heart. That physical sweep was his strongest raw attack; it would have pulverized any ordinary ninja.

He realized his options were running thin. He wouldn't yield the initiative. If his opponent was arrogant enough to offer "two more moves," Yagura would make sure the next one was lethal.

Yagura glanced at Terumī Mei. Even in his Tailed Beast state, she understood his intent immediately. She leaped back, shouting a command to the troops:

"EVERYONE, DISPERSE!!!"

The Mist ninjas moved instantly, retreating to the sides and rear of the Mizukage. They had seen this before.

Shinichi watched with a flat expression. Yagura was transparent to him. Although he was a near-perfect Jinchūriki, to a Six Paths-level being like Shinichi, he was no threat. The ultimate move was always the same: the Tailed Beast Bomb.

The Truth-Seeking Orb shield retracted, and Shinichi raised a hand. One orb morphed into a black staff the height of a man, settling into his grip.

Simultaneously, Yagura tilted his head back. Blue and black chakra began to swirl and condense rapidly above his mouth, forming a dense, vibrating sphere.

The Tailed Beast Bomb.

It was a natural disaster in condensed form, capable of erasing a mountain. Below the level of the Six Paths, it was the pinnacle of destructive power. But to the Tenseigan, it was just a ball of energy.

"Die, you bastard!" Yagura roared.

The Tailed Beast Bomb was complete. With a look of manic excitement, Yagura swallowed the sphere and then adjusted his aim. Instead of firing at Shinichi, he snapped his head toward Team 7.

The sphere launched with a piercing sonic boom. At a distance of only a few dozen meters, Kakashi and the children had zero time to react.

Yagura wasn't stupid. If Shinichi was confident enough to stand still, the shield was likely impregnable. But by targeting the four Konoha ninjas, he could force Shinichi to move and protect them, or at the very least, break his spirit by murdering his comrades.

Absolute Protection

"Hmph."

Shinichi let out a cold snort. The moment the bomb left Yagura's mouth, Shinichi vanished. He had anticipated the Mizukage's petty target.

Using Flying Thunder God, Shinichi appeared directly in front of Kakashi and the others. He spun his Truth-Seeking staff and hurled it toward the incoming projectile. Under his control, the black rod expanded into a new shield mid-air, intercepting the Tailed Beast Bomb and forcing it to detonate prematurely.

BOOM!!!!

A blinding light followed by a monstrous shockwave tore through the environment. On one side of the battlefield, the ground was instantly charred red, the soil turning into molten glass and lava.

On the other side—the side behind Shinichi—the ground remained perfectly intact, save for some dust and cracks.

The hurricane-force winds flattened nearby trees. Several Mist ninjas, caught off guard by the proximity of the blast, were sent tumbling like autumn leaves. Smoke and steam filled the air, creating a dense curtain.

The Ripples Across the Sea

The roar of the explosion carried for miles. Off the coast of the Land of Waves, a Cloud Village (Kumogakure) ship felt the waves swell.

The Fourth Raikage, A, who had been scolding his brother for sneaking out of the village, froze and looked toward the island.

"Brother, that's Tailed Beast power!" Killer Bee sensed the ominous chakra immediately. As a perfect Jinchūriki, his intuition was absolute.

A's face darkened. "Why is a Tailed Beast in the Land of Waves? Is a beast on a rampage, or is there a war?"

He ordered the fleet to full speed. The most likely candidates were Konoha's Nine-Tails or the Mist's Three or Six-Tails. Given the rumors of the Mist hunting the Byakugan, A suspected the Mist's operation had gone sideways.

"Brother, Hachibi tells me it's the Three-Tails!" Bee provided the confirmation.

A's expression turned into a grin. "Accelerate! If we're lucky, maybe we'll bring the Three-Tails home to our village too!"

The Predator and the Prey

Back on the island, the smoke cleared. The black staff returned to Shinichi's hand. Naruto and the others stood frozen, their minds blank from the sheer scale of the destruction. To them, Shinichi's silhouette now looked more divine than human.

Shinichi held up a single finger, indicating Yagura had one chance left. He stared at the Mizukage with cold, indifferent eyes. This casual dismissal weighed on the Mist ninjas like a lead mountain.

"That attack... did nothing?" "What... what is that thing?!"

Even Obito was shaken. He expected Shinichi to teleport the bomb away or flee; he never imagined someone could block a Tailed Beast Bomb head-on with such ease.

I need my other eye, Obito thought, glancing at Kakashi. Shinichi is too strong. My Kamui alone isn't enough. I need to reclaim what is mine. Kakashi failed his promise to protect Rin anyway... why should I let him keep it?

Shinichi noticed Obito's gaze. Using the Tenseigan, he silently placed a second Flying Thunder God mark on Obito from a distance. Whatever the masked man was planning, Shinichi was one step ahead.

He turned back to Yagura. "Silence won't save you. If you don't take your last chance... I'll just kill you now."

Shinichi split the Truth-Seeking Orbs, forming two black gauntlets over his arms.

Before Yagura could act, a Mist elite was more decisive. A massive figure lunged from the crowd, swinging a giant, bandage-wrapped blade downward at Shinichi.

Shinichi raised an arm to block. Through the attacker's mask, he saw a shark-like face.

Kisame Hoshigaki? He's still in the Mist at this time?

With a flick of his finger against the blade of Samehada, Shinichi sent Kisame and his sword flying back twenty meters before he could regain his footing.
