Chapter 207 - A Visit

"Remember this, you ants. Tonight, the one who will kill you is Qian Renyue, the Holy Maiden of the Soul Hall!" As soon as Qian Renyue finished speaking, she swung her heavy sword down, and a wave of people fell instantly.

Qian Renyue turned to look at the trembling villagers and asked, "Do you want revenge? If so, pick up your weapons yourselves and kill them—avenge your children."

The villagers stared at Qian Renyue in shock; for a moment, no one spoke.

Seeing that no one was speaking, Qian Renyue turned away, somewhat disappointed, preparing to deliver the final blow to finish off the remaining men.

"Your Highness, wait!" A hoarse female voice rang out, halting Qian Renyue's action.

Qian Renyue turned to look at her. It was one of the villagers who had come to protect the children. Qian Renyue recognized her; Aunt Wang would sometimes take her to bring this woman some food. Aunt Wang had told her that this woman was Aunt Su, who had once been renowned in the village for her beauty and had a very charming little girl with her husband.

But fate had other plans. While she and her little girl were in town shopping, they were spotted by the Duke's household. The little girl was abducted and her whereabouts remain unknown, while Aunt Su returned in a state of disarray. After her return, she began to act somewhat erratically. Her husband, enraged, led the villagers to confront the Duke's household—but he never returned.

Ever since then, Aunt Su has been lucid at times and confused at others. During one of her fits of madness, she slashed her own face deeply. The villagers felt sorry for her and would often bring her food and clothing.

What Qian Renyue hadn't expected was that she would find herself among those protecting the children.

Qian Renyue retracted her wings, placed Longyin in Aunt Su's hands, stood behind her, wrapped her own hands around Aunt Su's, and brought down a fierce blow against the soldier who was kneeling on the ground, begging Qian Renyue to spare them. The soldier's hideous, grotesque head rolled to the ground at Aunt Su's feet. Without a moment's hesitation, Aunt Su kicked the head aside and swung her blade down once more.

"Auntie, he's already dead. Don't be afraid—let's go kill the next one," Qian Renyue whispered softly into Aunt Su's ear, soothing her agitated emotions.

Under Qian Renyue's Soul Douluo-level aura, the Duke's lackeys knelt motionless on the ground, allowing Aunt Su to vent her pent-up rage. Seeing this, the other villagers picked up the weapons scattered on the ground and joined Aunt Su's ranks.

Amid the villagers' cries and curses, the massacre drew to a close.

Aunt Su returned the Dragon's Roar and said to Qianren Yue, " "Young Prince, I killed those beasts myself. I won't drag the Martial Soul Hall into this—I'll turn myself in. You must leave at once, Your Highness. Since the Duke's men have been lying in ambush here and haven't returned for so long, I'm sure someone will come looking for us."

"Aunt Su, have you come to your senses? " Qian Renyue didn't leave; she simply asked.

"Yes, I'm awake." Aunt Su wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and the blood splattered on her face.

"So are you at peace with this?"

"At peace? How could I ever be at peace! I'd love nothing more than to drink the blood of those beasts and eat their flesh." Aunt Su's voice rang out with fury.

"Aunt Su, you once treated me to some delicious osmanthus cakes. To repay you, how about I help you get your revenge?" Qian Renyue stepped forward, took Aunt Su's hand, and asked with a smile.

Aunt Su stared in shock at the beautiful young girl before her. Back then, she had merely mistaken the child for her own while in a daze; seeing the girl's bedraggled and pitiful appearance, she had given her some osmanthus cakes. Little did she know that the girl's true identity was the Holy Maiden of the Martial Soul Hall.

"That's the Duke's Mansion," Aunt Su thought. She longed for revenge in her wildest dreams, but this was the Duke's Mansion—and she didn't want to drag this kind-hearted child into her troubles.

"So what?" " Qian Renyue took Aunt Su's hand and placed her other hand on Aunt Su's waist to steady her. Spreading her six wings behind her, she said to the others, "Those who want to go to the Duke's mansion to see that beast's fate, follow me. Those who don't trust me or are afraid should head back early."

Paying no heed to the others' reactions, Qian Renyue flapped her six wings and set off toward the Duke of Hillerbach's mansion.

"Your Highness, that is the Duke's mansion." Aunt Su guided Qian Renyue through the air, and the two soon landed right in front of the mansion's gates.

"Who are you! This is the Duke's Mansion—no place for the likes of you. If you don't want to lose your lives, leave at once," shouted a guard in armor standing at the gate.

"You're so noisy." Qian Renyue didn't even draw her sword; the sword energy formed from her soul power alone sliced through the guard's neck.

Stepping through the blood, the two walked into the Duke's mansion.

In response to Qian Renyue's actions, the guards at the Duke's mansion quickly formed ranks and glared menacingly at Qian Renyue and her companion.

"Your Highness," Aunt Su tugged at Qian Renyue's sleeve with some concern and called out anxiously.

"Don't be afraid. Just stay right behind me," Qian Renyue reassured her.

With that, Qian Renyue unleashed her full power. Although she wanted to quickly dispose of these scum, she strictly adhered to Chen Xin's orders and used only her heavy sword mode. The guards of the Duke's mansion were either ordinary people who had undergone intensive training or low-level Soul Masters. In the face of Qian Renyue, these men could only be described as no match at all.

Before long, Qian Renyue had fought her way into the inner chambers of the Duke's mansion. But to her surprise, even at this point, she still hadn't seen the mastermind behind it all—Duke Schillerbach.

Qian Renyue extended her spiritual energy to cover the entire Duke's mansion. When she sensed something in one particular area, her expression suddenly turned grim.

"You scum!" Qian Renyue was instantly filled with murderous intent, and an aura of destruction filled the air.

Fearing she might upset Aunt Su's fragile nerves, Qian Renyue suppressed her rage and said to her, "You'd better not watch what happens next. Please go back first."

"Your Highness, let me go. I have a feeling my child is right there," Aunt Su said, her voice choked with emotion.

Just then, the villagers who had been following Qian Renyue caught up with them. Having overheard the exchange between Qian Renyue and Aunt Su, they hurriedly chimed in: "Your Highness, please let us take care of Aunt Su. We beg you to take us inside—let us see our children."

"I can take you inside, but I must warn you first. What you'll see isn't what you want to see, and it's certainly not something you'll be able to accept. I think it would be better if you went back and waited for news," Qian Renyue said earnestly.

"It's all right, Your Highness. Let us go take a look," the villagers said.

Seeing how insistent the villagers were, Qian Renyue could only sigh helplessly and motion for everyone to follow her.

Upon reaching a sleeping chamber in the rear courtyard, Qian Renyue split the massive structure in two with a single stroke of her sword. With another swing, an entrance leading to the basement appeared before them.

In an instant, the air was filled with the stench of blood, darkness, and all manner of nauseating odors.

Qian Renyue had no intention of entering the basement, so she swung her long sword once more. This revealed most of the basement's interior. Upon seeing the conditions inside, some of the villagers, unable to bear the sight, screamed out in horror, while others rushed to the side and began vomiting.
