Chapter 432 - Chapter 179: Fire God's Way!

He spoke like this, but his face showed a 'hope so' expression.

"But he did not leave me his teaching progress, so I can only teach you according to my own ideas." Snape said this, paused for a moment, "I reiterate, turn to page 394!"

After speaking, he waved his magic wand, turning Ron's book to page 394.

Ron was startled; he visibly jumped in his seat.

He looked down at the book and exclaimed in shock, "Werewolf?"

"But, sir, we've already learned about Boggarts, Red Hats, Kaba and Grindelwald," Hermione said quickly and puzzled, "we were just about to start—"

"Quiet," Snape said icily, "I didn't ask you, I was merely commenting on Professor Lupin's disorganized teaching methods... you're easily satisfied, Lupin hardly set high standards for you—I think first-years should be able to handle Red Hats and Grindelwald, so today we'll discuss—"

As he said this, Snape gave a toothache-like smile and looked threateningly at Neville.

Neville shivered; he knew Snape had set his sights on him.

"How to deal with werewolves," Professor Snape said, "This is what you should be learning right now, isn't it?"

The students in the entire classroom wore expressions of pain; even the Slytherin students disliked Professor Snape's class.

Though Professor Snape wouldn't deduct points from Slytherin, his venom was equally distributed, as it was now.

"Mr. Malfoy!" Snape suddenly roared, "If you had paid more attention, you would have heard me say to turn to page 394!"

Draco was startled into a shiver; he quickly flipped through his textbook to the specified page.

"Now... who can tell me the definition of a werewolf, and how to distinguish a werewolf from a real wolf?" Snape asked again.

Everyone exchanged glances; no one wanted to answer Snape's question—not even Hermione.

She knew full well about Snape's unfair treatment, and even if Snape's AOE hit everyone equally, Hermione didn't want to bear Snape's venom alone, it would drive her mad.

No one had expected that now, with no answers, Professor Snape would be even less pleased.

"Mr. Longbottom!" He suddenly called out, "You explain it!"

Neville stood up trembling, stuttering: "Sor...Sorry, professor, I...I don't know!"

Professor Snape took a deep breath.

Nodding, he roared, "Fine, fine, fine... I never thought I'd encounter third-year students unable to identify werewolves, I'm going to record this, tell Professor Dumbledore how far behind your education is, how incompetent Lupin really is—Longbottom! Gryffindor will lose ten points because of you!"

Everyone was now certain, there was definitely not a small grudge between Professor Snape and Professor Lupin.

Perhaps it was due to the cross-dressing incident in the previous classes?

But no one planned on sticking up for Neville, after all, the main person responsible for Professor Snape's cross-dressing incident was Neville, because he was the one who read those ridiculous words.

Only Harry sensed something amiss; if it were just this, Snape likely wouldn't have been so ruthless... perhaps there was something else between them?

He raised his hand, planning to answer Professor Snape's question.

"Potter." Snape grinned; he seemed pleased to see Harry raising his hand to answer the question—not just this question, "You answer."

"Werewolf, sometimes referred to as Lycanthrope, is a human who can transform into a wolf when the full moon rises; this condition is caused by infection with lycanthropy. Although werewolves can appear in wolf form, they are different from ordinary wolves."

"Werewolves cannot choose whether or not to transform, and they forget their identity upon transformation, even targeting their best friends for a kill opportunity. Despite this, upon returning to human form, they can recall everything they experienced during transformation."

At this point, Harry continued to speak about differentiation: "Compared to ordinary wolves, the animal form of a werewolf has a slightly shorter muzzle and smaller pupils, appearing more human-like—also, the hair on a werewolf's tail tends to be tufted, and they will attack humans unconsciously."

"And during the time they aren't transformed, they appear just like regular humans but seem older, and as the full moon approaches their complexion turns paler."

Upon hearing this, Professor Snape began to applaud Harry.

No one expected Snape to applaud Harry—he clearly couldn't wait to tear Harry's face apart.

"Very well said, Potter."

Professor Snape spoke with sarcasm; his lips almost curving into the logo of a Muggle world sports brand—Nike.

"I'm relieved to see you making such significant academic progress, but I must remind you, you better keep your eyes open—perhaps there's a werewolf among you."

"Why do you say that, professor?" Harry asked curiously.

Snape seemingly had much patience with this matter and explained leisurely to Harry: "I'm just hoping you'll be extremely cautious in handling everything—if you wish to make progress in Defense Against the Dark Arts, you not only need keen insight but also a questioning mind toward everything—"
