Synopsis
It was supposed to just be a game. A stupid game with sexy robot chicks and void magic. I should have known better. The Multiverse was something I knew existed… I'd never believed that I would end up a Tenno. However, I'm a Veteran Player... Let me show the people of this Universe how the game is REALLY supposed to be played... Or at least, that was the plan until he learned that HIS Warframes came to life. "Ivara, could you stop sneaking into my bed all the time? No, I don't dislike cuddling with you, but that's not the point!" "Octavia, can you stop playing your music so damn loud? It's starting to upset Valkyr." "Wisp, could you maybe NOT open a portal to the literal sun just because Gyre knocked over your terminal?" "Jade, you wouldn't want anything bad to happen to the Stalker, would you- I'm sorry, bad joke." "Ballas? Orokin? Man in the Wall? Compared to the things I've been through, you're just easy mode." NOT a Translation.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

For Generations, You've Slept.

... What is that voice...? So warm... Soft... But so sleepy...

No Purpose...

The voice again... It was... Calling...? But... So tired...

No Call... To Wake You...

Wake me...? Mm... Yes... I needed to...

Wake Up, Tenno.

My faint consciousness suddenly snapped to full awareness. My vision, black, suddenly became incredibly clear- like I was seeing the world in HD after watching it in 360p for years.

I was suspended in the air, in some sort of pod... I could see outside the pod, see the thunderstorm raging outside- but, even so, I didn't feel cold. I felt comfortable, warm.

I frowned as my mind caught up with my reality- a reality that didn't match what I knew.

This wasn't my bedroom. This wasn't my home.

Where was I?

Take it easy, young host. You've been dead a long time. Death leaves its mark, even for your kind.

Death? I died?

My frown grew deeper... I had no memories of dying, why was that? From my perspective, I was in my bedroom and suddenly... Here.

Memories of your death were too traumatic and- for your own sanity and safety- they were removed.

If I'm dead... No, you said Death leaves a mark and that I've been asleep. That means that I'm not dead, right? Then, what is going on?

You have been granted a second chance at life. While your mind and soul recovered, a lottery wheel was spun to determine the world you would have your second chance at life in.

... Gacha? Really?

If it works, it works.

Fair enough... What world did I end up in then?

Congratulations, Tenno. You have successfully Transmigrated into the Warframe Universe.

Warframe... The name sparked instant recognition with me- I had played the game for over a thousand hours in my past life, likely more. I took a break and came back to it several times, yes, but I'd played it for several years. It was a fun game, if not extremely grindy and mind numbing.

However, this was an extremely dangerous world... Not even mentioning the events of the New War, even the aftermath of the Old War meant that Warframe was a world that was perpetually on 'Hell' Difficulty.

Please rest assured, you will not die. Due to the inherent nature of the world, many features of the system are currently locked. However, there is no need to fear- the path to power and supremacy begins with the smallest step.

For now, can you tell me your name?

My name? My name is...

...

... System, why can't I remember my name?

Due to traumatic memories- and also to avoid attachment to your previous world- several other memories were removed, including your previous name and the names of family members and friends- and also their faces.

Kind of heartless, don't you think? You could have asked.

It was necessary.

I sighed... I understood why it was necessary, but it didn't exactly thrill me. Still- what was done, was done. There was no use whining over it.

So, a new name...

I ran through a few names I'd used at previous points online or when writing... However, the one name that stuck out to me...

Xenos. The Greek word for Foreigner or Stranger. It felt very fitting, given I was a foreign soul in this world

Xenos would be my new name.

Owner Registration Complete. Designated System Owner: Xenos. Binding Complete- the System shall be with you through life and death from this point forwards.

Life and Death? That... Was a good thing, truthfully. It meant that the system would essentially always be by my side, which meant there would be chances at resurrection in case of death.

Accessing Status Page...

Name: Xenos

Warframe: None

Class: None

Focus: None

Primary: None

Secondary: None

Melee: None

Companion: None

Credits: 10,000

Platinum: 1,000

Pretty standard starting... However, what caught my attention was the 1,000 Platinum. Usually, a Warframe account would start with 100 Platinum. Not 1,000.

The 1000 Platinum is a starting bonus for the user. Please note that you cannot buy Warframes from the System Store with Platinum, however you may buy the blueprints of any Warframe from the System Store using Platinum.

Fair enough, slight nerf to Platinum. But it made sense, otherwise I'd be able to just buy a bunch of Warframes.

However, where were the stats like Strength and Agility?

These stats are locked temporarily until you awaken to your true Tenno Body within the Reservoir. This is the same with both Focus and Class.

Right... That made sense- Warframes had a set growth until Rank 30, so their 'stats' were fixed in place.

Please select your starting Warframe. As a bonus gift to the User, they may select any starting Warframe they desire to begin with- except for Prime Warframes.

Any Warframe, you say?

Confirmed: Any Warframe.

Well now, that certainly opened up the gates... After all, I had 1000+ hours in the game. While nothing compared to hardcore grinders, it was still a substantial amount of time- and many Warframes immediately stood out to me.

Wisp was a phenomenal starting Waframe- and also one that normally would take a long time before I could get, requiring the Ropalolyst Boss Fight in order to obtain her parts. However, given I could buy her blueprints from the System Store with Platinum, I felt far less inclined to choose her. She was, primarily, a support Warframe.

Excalibur was, of course, always a great choice. While it had fallen off a bit since release, it still remained a solid starting Warframe that could carry you through the early game- particularly with Exalted Blade. However, he was also an easy to obtain early Warframe. Not only that, but he later received an upgrade in 'Excalibur Umbra.' Therefore, not truly worth going for.

Volt was an extremely good option. Incredibly fast, an impenetrable shield, crowd control, and a quick shock. Plus, with a later mod, the shield could then be picked up and used as a Riot Shield. Plus, he wasn't easy to obtain- requiring the creation and joining of a clan along with resources. While I could buy the blueprints with Platinum, it wouldn't take as long to do so as someone as Wisp would.

I sighed... Truly, Warframe rarely missed...

After thinking about it, I finally decided to go with Frost.

While Frost was a Warframe that could easily be obtained early on, he was also a very good Warframe. With his ability to freeze enemies early on- who had little to no resistances- or even just slow them down, it made dealing with earlier enemies much easier. On top of that, he was very good at Defence Missions- able to put up an Ice Globe that was almost a must have for Defence Missions.

Furthermore, once you obtained Frost's specific mods- Biting Frost and Icy Avalanche- he'd become an overguard machine. Combine that with Arcane Ice Storm and Molt Augmented...

Wukong did briefly flicker into my mind thanks to his ability to avoid death three times, but I felt like- overall- Frost was a better choice for me personally.

My most used Warframe was Volt, but the Warframe I'd enjoyed using most was definitely Frost.

Frost is my choice.

Frost Selected.

I felt a shudder run through my spine as I almost felt like something was forming around my body... No, not my body, my soul.

As an apology for taking away your memories- even if for good reason- you will receive an additional Reward.

You have obtained Prime Weapon Ticket x1.

I didn't need to be a genius to know what that meant- a free Prime Weapon was extremely good, and an offer I absolutely could not and WOULD NOT refuse.

Use it immediately, exchange for Acceltra Prime- that gun is crazy.

Accepted. Acceltra Prime has been obtained.

Are you ready to begin your journey?

My awareness suddenly bloomed into full focus. Mechanical wheezing was heard as the pod holding me in the air slowly opened, and I dropped down- landing in a crouch on the ground within the ruined temple. Rain and thunder raged outside, as Grineer prowled through the forest, looking for their target... For me.

A clattering sound caught my attention as I looked over, finding the Acceltra Prime had dropped down right beside me.

The Tutorial has begun.

Quest: Awakening.

You have awakened within your Warframe, but Grineer lurk the grounds led by Captain Vor- who seeks you for his own purposes. Escape from the Grineer.

Objective: Clear the 8 Stages of Awakening and learn how to use your new powers.

Frost Passive Skill: Fortifying Freeze has been unlocked.

Frost Active Skill: Freeze (Level 1) has been unlocked.

Rifle Mastery (Level 1) has been unlocked.

To use a Skill, simply think or say the name of the skill. You may also will for the Skill to activate.

Skills had Levels too...? Interesting...

While Skills had Levels in Warframe as well, they generally went from Level 0 to Level 3. That clearly wasn't the case here... Interesting, something to ask about later.

My fingers curled around the Acceltra Prime, lifting it up. Despite its appearance, it was incredibly light- or was it that the Warframe was strong?

Regardless, the gun felt comfortable- almost familiar- in my hands... Likely helped by Rifle Mastery, I took a few moments to get used to the feeling of the gun in my hands- though I didn't look too hard and instead began to make my way out of the ruined temple.

As I stepped out, I saw several Grineer pointing at me. "Tenno!" They roared like a battle cry as they charged at me.

Awakening - Part 1: Warframe Power

Objective: Test out your Warframe Powers against the Grineer.

If my Warframe could grin, it would be smiling like the cheshire cat.

I held Acceltra in one hand as the other thrust forwards. "FREEZE!"

A bolt of ice unleashed from my hands, slamming into the closest Grineer and splashing around- even hitting several of them around, causing their bodies to be frozen solid.

Grineer quickly backed off as I pulled the trigger on the Acceltra, unleashing bolts of blue energy that crashed into the frozen bodies and caused them to explode, scattering into tiny chunks of ice.

My attention quickly turned to the rest of the Grineer, who began to unleash fire on me.

I rolled to the side, pumping them full of energy blasts from Acceltra- and freezing any which got too close. This was the early game; this was meant to be easy.

Awakening - Part 1: Warframe Power

Cleared!

I didn't stick around and wait to admire my handywork. Instead, my focus changed as I noticed a proper HUD appearing in front of me. My Energy Amount, Shields, Health, Ammo... It was just like the Warframe HUD, even complete with the orange indicator telling me where to go.

Following the indicator, I came across a small shelter- no doubt set up by the Grineer- and made my way inside. There was nothing truly of interest besides the two weapons sitting on the table. A one-handed short sword, and a Bo Staff.

Choose your Melee Weapon.

I observed both weapons carefully, recalling their details from my time playing the game.

The short sword was the Skana, a single-handed weapon built for speed and quick attacks. Quick, efficient, easy to use.

The Bo Staff was the MK1-Bo, a two-handed weapon. A strong weapon, but slower to use and required a bit more practice to get used to it. Specifically, you wanted a certain Stance Mod with Bo weapons in order to make them easier to use.

Due to careful analysing, you have obtained the Personal Skill: Observe (Level 1)!

Ah, Observe. The bread and butter of any transmigrator, a very useful skill to be able to turn anything into readable data to make understanding things easier.

Still, I had no need to use Observe on the weapons- I instead directly picked up the Skana and took a few practice swings to get used to it.

Through special actions, you have obtained the Skill: Single-Handed Swordsmanship (Level 1)!

Hm... It seemed this System was also similar to the original System from 'The Gamer.' Performing actions creates skills, nice and simple. Good to know...

The indicator flickered to the corner of my vision, and I turned my head to see a group of Grineer approaching me.

A wide grin crawled onto my lips once again, my blade carving through their bodies- splattering both the ground and my Warframe in their clone blood.

Exquisite.
