The giant turtle is still under Sharingan Genjutsu's control, near the waters between the Land of Whirlpools and the Land of Fire. As long as Hidden Mist Village doesn't send ninjas over, no one can discover Turtle Island.
And Uchiha Yoichi had Kushina set up a barrier here, making it unlikely ordinary people would 'stumble upon' it.
Turtle Island serves two purposes: the Waterfall of True unaffected by the turtle's life status, it'll remain even after its death. Second is the ability to move, though Uchiha Yoichi plans to keep Turtle Island stationed here.
Unless unexpected events occur, it shall remain immobile.
