Wang Wangdu and Li Chengde had a clear division of labor; Wang Wangdu was responsible for introducing the auction items, while Li Chengde was in charge of the auction itself.
The first auction item came up.
Wang Wangdu: "Tonight's first auction item is a Jade Ring from Emperor Qianlong. Many emperors of the Qing Dynasty had a fondness for jade rings, especially Qianlong, who had an inseparable bond with them. He wrote no less than 50 poems about jade rings. Although Emperor Qianlong had a particular fondness for jade rings, not many have survived. This jade ring is made of nephrite jade, with Emperor Qianlong's own inscriptions on it, which speaks volumes about its preciousness."
