Shen Can had begun to understand.
The Ancestral Land was quite challenging; they lacked the ability to create new laws and dared not abandon the old ones, stubbornly holding on, waiting for the day when somewhere, the Human Race might rise again after the great disaster.
To say they were stubbornly holding on wasn't entirely accurate; the Ancestral Land must also be trying to find ways, but resources were limited, especially while enduring the oppression of the Mountain and Sea Alien Race.
"Can the people of the Ancestral Land withstand beastification?"
After a long while, Shen Can asked another question.
"Beastification?"
The old man spoke, "When you face the Alien Race every day as soon as you open your eyes, you might realize that maybe beastification isn't so bad; at least it gives you the strength to fight."
