Outside the Hengwu Restaurant, a black bird quietly perched, watching the two figures depart. Before long, a masked gray shadow arrived.
The gray shadow walked along the roadside, resembling a ghost. Not only could you not feel his presence, but you couldn't even see his appearance.
The gray shadow silently approached the Hengwu Restaurant, quietly pushed open a second-floor window, and then entered.
Steward Wu yawned and lay down on the couch. Though he was merely an apparition, he still needed to sleep.
Once he was sound asleep, the window outside his room suddenly opened.
The gray shadow floated in like a ghost.
Upon entering, the gray shadow covered Steward Wu's mouth with one hand and lifted him abruptly with the other.
Steward Wu slept soundly, suddenly feeling himself suspended in the air. Something he carried... a copper pendant he always wore was falling.
Clank, clank, clank...
The copper pendant fell onto the bed.
