Yuzuki pushed open the door to his assigned room on the 200th Floor and immediately froze.
"…What is all this?"
The small table near the center of the room was absolutely covered in food.
Stacks of takeout containers.
Grilled meat.
Rice bowls.
Soup.
Desserts.
Drinks.
Enough food to feed an army.
And sitting proudly beside it all was Biscuit Krueger.
"Welcome back!"
Yuzuki stared blankly.
"…Did you rob a restaurant?"
Bisky gasped dramatically.
"How rude!"
Then she pointed proudly at the table.
"I simply bought us a proper celebratory meal!"
Yuzuki's eyes drifted toward the other two people in the room.
One was a man he recognized instantly.
Calm posture.
Gentle expression.
Martial artist aura.
Wing.
And beside him sat a young bald boy with sparkling eyes.
Zushi.
Bisky waved her hand casually.
"I ran into Wing downstairs and invited him up."
She smirked slightly.
"He believed you two might already know each other."
Wing smiled politely as he stood.
"It's been a while, Yuzuki."
Yuzuki nodded and walked over.
The two shook hands firmly.
"Good to see you again, Wing-san."
Although they had not spoken much during the Hunter Exam, they had absolutely noticed one another.
Especially Wing.
After all, Bisky had practically flooded him with information about Yuzuki afterward.
Wing studied him quietly now.
'His aura feels even sharper than before.'
'His control improved again.'
'And yet… something about him feels heavier.'
Meanwhile beside him—
Zushi was vibrating with excitement.
The boy suddenly stood up so quickly his chair nearly tipped over.
"IT'S REALLY HIM!"
Wing sighed.
"Zushi."
But Zushi had already rushed forward.
"Yuzuki-san! I'm a huge fan!"
Yuzuki blinked.
"…Fan?"
"Yes!"
Zushi's eyes sparkled.
"I watched your fights!"
"You're amazing!"
"The way you move!"
"The punches!"
"That weird flowing martial arts style!"
"PLEASE TEACH ME YOUR MOVES!"
Yuzuki stared silently for two seconds.
Then pointed at Bisky.
"She's the one teaching me."
Zushi immediately turned toward Bisky with horror.
"MASTER BISKY CREATED THAT!?"
Bisky puffed her chest proudly.
"Fufufu~ Of course I did."
Yuzuki looked at her flatly.
"You absolutely did not."
"Details."
Wing rubbed his forehead tiredly.
'This room is already exhausting.'
Bisky clapped her hands.
"Enough talking!"
"Sit!"
"Eat!"
Nobody argued with that.
Especially not Yuzuki.
Five minutes later—
The table looked like a battlefield.
Most of the destruction was caused by Yuzuki.
Wing quietly watched him devour food at terrifying speed.
"…Does he always eat like this?"
Bisky nodded casually.
"You get used to it."
Zushi stared in awe.
'Amazing…'
'He fights well AND eats well…'
Yuzuki swallowed another mouthful before speaking.
"This grilled meat is good."
Bisky smirked proudly.
"Obviously. Expensive food always tastes better."
Wing smiled faintly.
"That sounds like something you would say."
"It's because I'm correct."
As they continued eating, Bisky suddenly looked toward Yuzuki.
"So?"
"How did registration go?"
Yuzuki leaned back slightly.
"Pretty normal."
Then he smirked faintly.
"Except for three idiots who thought I looked like easy prey."
Wing immediately paused.
"…Three people approached you together?"
"Yeah."
"They were pretending to be helpful."
Wing sighed deeply.
"I see."
Zushi tilted his head.
"What's wrong, Master?"
Wing folded his arms calmly.
"There's an ugly custom on the 200th Floor."
"Something fighters call baptism."
Zushi flinched slightly.
Wing continued.
"Experienced fighters target newcomers."
"They provoke them into fights immediately after arrival."
"The goal is usually intimidation, injury, or crushing their confidence before they can properly establish themselves."
"Some never recover afterward."
Yuzuki listened quietly.
Though internally—
'Yeah, I know.'
Wing adjusted his glasses slightly.
"If three approached you together…"
"…then they were likely planning to baptize you."
Bisky suddenly began laughing.
Not her childish laugh.
A darker one.
Dangerous.
"Hehehe…"
Wing immediately recognized the sound and internally pitied whoever had challenged Yuzuki.
Bisky rested her chin against her hands with a terrifying smile.
"Well then…"
"Their luck has run out."
Her eyes gleamed.
"Because they picked the wrong opponent."
--
The halls of the 200th Floor were unusually quiet tonight.
Not peaceful quiet.
Nervous quiet.
The kind of silence that spread before danger arrived.
A tall figure walked leisurely through the corridor.
Cards spun elegantly between slender fingers.
Soft humming echoed lightly off the walls.
Hisoka Morow smiled pleasantly as he walked from door to door.
Knock.
A fighter cautiously opened one room.
The moment he saw Hisoka, his face immediately paled.
"H-Hisoka…"
Hisoka tilted his head politely.
"Good evening ♠"
The man instinctively stepped backward.
Hisoka smiled wider.
"Have you perhaps seen a cute little boy with beautiful blue eyes? ♥"
The fighter looked horrified.
"…No."
"Really? ♣"
"Yes."
SLAM.
The door shut instantly.
Hisoka stared at it silently for a second.
Then chuckled softly.
"How unfriendly ♥"
And continued walking.
Door after door.
Knock after knock.
Each reaction grew worse.
Some refused to open at all after sensing his aura.
Others nearly trembled when speaking to him.
One fighter accidentally dropped his drink the moment he saw Hisoka smiling outside his room.
The atmosphere around him was simply wrong.
Predatory.
Unstable.
Like a tiger happily strolling through a petting zoo.
Meanwhile—
Inside another room on the same floor.
Yuzuki suddenly froze mid-bite.
The food in his chopsticks stopped halfway to his mouth.
Bisky noticed immediately.
"…What?"
Yuzuki slowly turned toward the door.
A chill crawled down his spine.
That aura.
That disgusting presence.
'No way.'
Wing also stiffened slightly.
Even Zushi visibly shivered.
Someone was approaching.
Slowly.
Casually.
But every step carried monstrous pressure beneath it.
LICK.
A faint sound echoed from outside the hallway.
Yuzuki's face immediately darkened.
"…Oh hell no."
Bisky frowned.
"What is it?"
Yuzuki looked at her very seriously.
"Please answer the door and tell him I'm not here."
Bisky blinked.
"…Him?"
Before Yuzuki could answer—
Knock knock.
The room instantly became silent.
Even Zushi stopped breathing properly.
Another soft lick echoed outside.
Wing's expression grew tense immediately.
'That aura…'
'No…'
Bisky slowly stood.
"…Why do I suddenly feel like I'm walking toward death?"
Yuzuki pointed desperately.
"Please just do it."
Bisky narrowed her eyes suspiciously but still walked toward the door.
Then slowly opened it.
Standing there smiling pleasantly was Hisoka.
Card in hand.
Tongue against its edge.
LICK.
Even Bisky felt uncomfortable instantly.
'Ugh.'
'He's creepy.'
Hisoka leaned slightly forward.
"Good evening ♥"
Bisky answered flatly.
"He's not here."
Hisoka blinked once.
Then smiled wider.
"How cold ♠"
Behind her, Yuzuki nearly stopped breathing.
Because he knew.
Hisoka absolutely knew he was inside.
There was no way that monster couldn't sense him.
Hisoka's eyes shifted slightly past Bisky.
Toward the room interior.
Toward Yuzuki.
Even without direct eye contact, Yuzuki felt the attention land on him like claws.
Hisoka chuckled softly.
"I only wanted to say hello ♥"
Bisky crossed her arms.
"Well you said it."
Hisoka hummed thoughtfully.
Then finally stepped back.
"…Another time then ♣"
Then he turned and walked away leisurely.
The pressure slowly faded down the hallway.
Only after several seconds passed did anyone inside the room move again.
Wing exhaled deeply.
"…Why is a Floor Master looking for you?"
Zushi still looked traumatized.
"That guy was terrifying…"
Yuzuki rubbed his forehead tiredly.
"…Don't ask."
Bisky shut the door immediately.
"…That clown thing is disgusting."
"Agreed."
Wing adjusted his glasses slowly.
Even he looked disturbed.
"That bloodlust…"
"It felt abnormal."
Yuzuki sighed deeply.
'Because it is abnormal.'
Meanwhile—
Elsewhere on the 200th Floor.
Inside another private room.
Gido spun a top across the table casually.
Riehlvelt leaned against the wall while Sadaso sat quietly nearby.
The atmosphere there was completely different.
Relaxed.
Cruel.
Confident.
Gido smirked.
"So?"
"Who gets first shot at the kid?"
Riehlvelt crossed his arms.
"You brought him in first."
Sadaso chuckled lowly.
"Then Gido should handle the opening match."
Gido grinned wider.
"Gladly."
His top spun faster between his fingers.
"That kid still thinks this place is fun."
Riehlvelt laughed quietly.
"He'll learn."
Sadaso's smile twisted slightly.
"Just like we did."
The room grew quieter for a second.
Their expressions darkened faintly.
Memories.
Pain.
Blood.
Fear.
The brutal forced awakening of Nen.
Baptism.
The cruel tradition of the 200th Floor.
Riehlvelt spoke softly.
"We'll force awaken his Nen."
Gido nodded calmly.
"Exactly."
"After that…"
"He either survives…"
"Or breaks."
The three laughed quietly together.
Completely unaware—
The child they planned to "baptize" had already survived battles and monsters far beyond their understanding.
