At this point, Tsugikuni Yoriichi had already been expelled from the Demon Slayer Corps.
Because he failed to kill Kibutsuji Muzan completely, and because his brother Tsugikuni Michikatsu betrayed the Corps and joined the demons, resulting in the death of the current Ubuyashiki head, Yoriichi was cast out.
Alex found the whole thing infuriating.
This generation of the Demon Slayer Corps was disgusting.
Did they really think Kibutsuji Muzan was that easy to kill?
Yoriichi didn't let him escape on purpose.
If Yoriichi hadn't gravely injured Muzan, the Demon King wouldn't have gone into hiding for a hundred years.
That century of peace existed because of Yoriichi.
And Michikatsu's betrayal had nothing to do with him.
Yoriichi selflessly shared the Breathing Techniques he created, saving countless Demon Slayers in the process.
The Corps owed him everything.
Alex felt nothing but contempt for them.
A bunch of ungrateful bastards.
So he planned to take Yoriichi away. 🚪
As for the demons of this era, he couldn't care less.
Let them tear each other apart.
Dog eat dog.
"I'm no longer with them," Yoriichi said quietly.
"Perfect," Alex said with a smile. "You've got nothing holding you back. How about coming to the future with me?" ⏳
"The future?" Yoriichi froze. "You're from the future?"
"That's right."
"I can't," Yoriichi said after a moment. "I still have a mission. I must kill Kibutsuji Muzan."
"You're really stubborn," Alex sighed, rubbing his forehead."Ever since you injured Muzan, he's gone into complete hiding. He plans to wait a hundred years, until you die of old age, before resurfacing. How are you supposed to kill him then?"
Yoriichi went silent.
He had never imagined Muzan could be that cowardly.
One defeat, and he hid for a century.
Was this really the Demon King?
That narrow-minded?
"Demons live forever," Alex continued. "They can wait. You can't. So come with me. Go to the future and kill Muzan there."
After a long moment of thought, Yoriichi finally nodded.
"Alright. I'll go with you."
His family was gone. His brother had betrayed him. The Corps had abandoned him.
There was nothing left tying him to this world.
He felt like he no longer belonged here.
Rather than stay, it was better to go to the future and help the next generation finish what he started.
Besides, his brother, now a demon, was probably still alive.
"Good," Alex said with a grin. "But we're not heading to the future just yet. We still have two things to take care of."
"What are they?" Yoriichi asked.
"Getting stronger," Alex said, holding up two fingers, "and passing on your legacy." ⚔️
In the original timeline, during the final battle in the Infinity Castle, Kibutsuji Muzan's strength was utterly monstrous.
It was obvious that he had grown far stronger over the centuries.
Alex didn't want to take any chances.
Yoriichi needed special training. And more than that, he needed blessings. ✨
The second task was to find Kamado Tanjuro's ancestor, Kamado Sumiyoshi, and ensure that Sun Breathing was properly passed down. 🔥
After all, using "Fairy Corridor" to take Yoriichi away from this era wouldn't change the established reality.
It would only create a parallel timeline, one that followed a different path.
To ensure that demons could be completely eradicated in this parallel timeline as well, the Breath of the Sun had to be passed down no matter what.
Tsugikuni Yoriichi didn't fully understand the two things Alex had mentioned, but he didn't press for answers.
After that, Alex asked Hestia for a group red packet and bestowed a blessing upon Yoriichi.
Then came the real nightmare.
Hellish, exploitative training.
Yoriichi had no complaints. Right now, he wanted strength more than anything.
Only by becoming stronger could he finally slay Kibutsuji Muzan and make sure history didn't repeat itself, letting that monster escape again.
Once Alex began training Yoriichi in earnest, he was completely stunned by the man's talent.
The fighting energy cultivation method? Yoriichi grasped the basics in less than an hour.
The three great sword schools? He fully mastered their essence in just seven days.
And he didn't stop there. Like Esdeath, he fused all three schools into a style uniquely his own.
On top of that, he created an entirely new Breathing Technique.
Battle Breathing.
A perfect fusion of the Breath of the Sun and fighting energy.
It had to be said. This guy's talent was downright terrifying.
That said, Yoriichi wasn't without flaws. His physical strength was relatively weak.
He had been frail and thin since childhood, something that couldn't be helped.
But to Alex, that wasn't a problem at all. Weak body? Then train it.
After all, he now possessed the strongest healing magic, "Dia Fratel."
No matter how brutally someone trained, he could restore them to peak condition instantly.
And so, three months passed.
In those three months, Yoriichi forced his way up to Blessing Level 5 purely through training. 📈
Absolutely insane.
Not only that, constant sparring with Alex pushed his swordsmanship beyond the ultimate realm and into the divine domain.
Martial arts touching the divine.
While he wasn't like Alex, who had achieved the divine realm in every discipline, reaching god-tier in swordsmanship alone was already absurdly impressive.
On top of that, Yoriichi's fighting energy had reached the King level.
Blessing Level 5, King-tier fighting energy, and god-level swordsmanship.
At this point, Yoriichi could easily one-shot Kibutsuji Muzan.
After finishing their training, Alex and Yoriichi spent some time tracking down Tanjiro Kamado's ancestor, Kamado Tanjuro.
After living with him for a while, Yoriichi passed down the Breath of the Sun in the form of the Hinokami Kagura.
Once everything was settled, Alex took Yoriichi and left that era behind. 🚀
…
Taisho Era, Demon Slayer Corps Headquarters.
Four days after Alex's departure, he finally returned with Yoriichi.
They had lived in the Sengoku era for four months, yet only four days had passed here.
The discovery left Alex feeling like he'd found a whole new continent.
Those four months meant four months of daily sign-ins, giving him a total of 1,220 points.
