"What?!" x3
Anby's unexpected confession left the trio in absolute disbelief.
None had expected her to say something so embarrassing while wearing such a calm, composed expression.
The three best friends crumbled to the ground, feeling as though every argument they had made before meant nothing against the weight of cold, hard facts.
Ellen stood frozen in place, the words replaying endlessly in her head like a lingering curse.
'Slept with him... Slept with him... Slept with him...'
"Huh? What's wrong?" Anby asked, tilting her head, honestly confused by their dramatic reaction.
She had only said what happened.
At that moment, Wise arrived, catching just enough of Anby's words to grasp the situation.
The moment his eyes met Ellen's, the murderous intent flickering behind her gaze sent a chill straight down his spine.
"..."
After a brief silence, Wise stepped forward anyway. He had already learned from both the system and Fairy that it wasn't just the two of them he needed to worry about.
Belle, Rain, Nekomata, and even Koleda all looked ready to tear him into six neat pieces.
To avoid the worst possible outcome, he figured it was better to settle things with Anby and Ellen first.
"Well, you two—" Wise tried to speak, but he was cut off before he could finish.
"So it's you!" Ruby's eyes were already fixed on him like a hunter marking her prey. "You toyed with Ellen's feelings, and now you have the nerve to show up so openly. Should I admire your courage?"
The others followed her lead, their glares sharp enough to drop the temperature of the room by a few degrees.
Just when it felt like things were about to explode, Ellen lifted her hand, and that was all it took to calm everyone down.
"Ellen..."
"It's fine," Ellen said, her voice surprisingly calm. "Thank you, but this is something I need to handle myself."
"Okay..."
Hearing that, Ruby and the others stepped aside, though each of them silently reached the same conclusion.
If things went badly, they would not hesitate to rush in and beat Wise senseless.
"Is what she said true?" Ellen asked, her gaze shifting briefly toward Anby, who remained standing quietly nearby.
When Wise heard the question, he swallowed hard and nodded.
"Yes."
"I see..."
After hearing him admit it, her expression inevitably fell. She clenched her fists, then slowly let go.
"Should I leave?" Even she seemed a little surprised by her own words.
Normally, she would have already walked away with her three best friends without sparing a single glance back.
Yet, for some reason, she had asked that question. Ellen truly didn't understand. Maybe she wouldn't feel at ease until she heard the answer straight from him.
She lowered her head, a discomfort tightening around her chest.
Ellen couldn't help but think about it. If she had just invited him to come tomorrow, none of this would've happened. Not like this.
As she hesitated to lift her gaze, she felt her hand being gently raised. Wise had taken it, his expression carrying more apology than any words he could have spoken.
"I don't want you to leave. That's how I truly feel," he said quietly, his voice steady despite the tension. "I want to remain by everyone's side."
"I would definitely be very touched if you didn't say 'everyone,'" Ellen replied, her tone cold.
"Is that so? Forgive me, lying has never really been my strong suit."
"Hmph, I can't tell."
She turned her face away.
'After all, you've deceived so many girls!'
The thought lingered in her mind, sharp and bitter. Yet somewhere within that bitterness, a faint trace of her usual expression returned to her face.
Then, as if reaching a decision, Ellen lifted her gaze toward Wise.
"Hey, come a little closer."
"Huh? What... Hmm!" Before Wise could finish speaking, his lips were suddenly sealed by hers.
He felt the soft warmth of Ellen's kiss and responded carefully, mindful not to brush against her sharp teeth.
If he accidentally cut his tongue while kissing, it would be a disaster. After all, putting aside the effects of his blood, even the smell alone might make her lose control.
The three best friends nearby quickly covered their mouths, glancing at Anby like they were waiting for something interesting to happen.
Anby frowned faintly, her lips tightening in visible displeasure. It was obvious she had no intention of tolerating a woman she wasn't close to getting that intimate with Wise before her eyes.
That was why, the instant Wise and Ellen parted, she stepped forward without the slightest hesitation.
Ellen had just opened her mouth to speak, but Anby cut her off.
Rising onto her toes, she pressed her lips to his. More confident and experienced, she took control, and their kiss lingered far longer than Ellen's had.
Once it was over, Anby turned her gaze directly toward Ellen and made a show of licking her lips, practically radiating satisfaction.
Wise let out a quiet sigh. He felt pretty helpless about the whole thing, but honestly, what was he supposed to do?
Anby might have been obedient most of the time, but she was still just a normal girl. Being jealous was only natural.
"…"
Seeing all of that happen, Ellen ended up swallowing whatever she'd been about to say.
She had wanted to ask whether Wise accepting her meant he intended to let go of the others.
But as she looked at him holding both her and Anby in his arms at the same time, it became painfully clear that he had no intention of giving up anyone.
A wave of unhappiness rose within her, yet no words came out. What unsettled her even more was Anby's calm expression, as though she had already come to terms with all of it.
The three best friends watching from the side were equally confused. Just moments ago, the two girls had been at odds, and now they were quietly allowing themselves to be held by the same scumbag.
The trio couldn't help but wonder if he possessed some kind of strange magic. After all, aside from being absurdly handsome, there was no reason Ellen shouldn't have broken up with him by now.
They were certain she wasn't the kind of person who'd stick around for looks alone.
But right then, before Wise could answer the doubts weighing on Ellen's heart, more girls appeared, and there was more than one.
Belle, Nekomata, Koleda, and Rain. All four of them had somehow ended up together, and they walked in right as Wise was standing there with his arms around two girls.
In an instant, the atmosphere became serious again.

A few minutes ago, before the disaster.
Rain had been putting her hacking abilities to work, attempting to locate Wise. Since she couldn't trace any of his devices, she turned her attention to the user who had shared the post.
The user said the girl in the photo was their best friend. That meant, even if they weren't together, they were probably close by.
