On the other hand, the curse blinked like she was shocked by Chóng Fēi's move—but more likely mocking this too. Her hand got slightly cut by the sharp blade. Instead of blood, it was black moths fluttering like their comfortable positions had been disturbed. But then they went back to their place and turned pale skin again.
"So sad..you males are all the same..." She mumbled creepier to herself with a bitter chuckle. No proper meaning was clear in her voice. She didn't make any sudden powerful move while she had all of the ability.
The child, who perhaps had seen the moths around her hand, let out a sob—now suddenly fearing her—and gripped Chóng Fēi's robe tightly, hiding his face into his neck.
'What is she trying to do? Is she gaslighting again?'
"She is up to no real motive I could see." Mō Qīn muttered.
Other curses nodded to him with bitterness, still left blinded.
Proving Lìngxiāo and the others wrong—perhaps—the curse finally moved. Sharp and fast, she lunged towards Chóng Fēi like an arrow with lightning speed, skipping grounds by jumping from this wall to that pillar. Her smoky dark robe fluttered. A few moths got separated from her and then caught up with her again.
Lìngxiāo's breath caught. His body jerked forward—and then he suddenly felt this body was now free. The sudden realization didn't help him from falling forward over his chest with a gasp, as did the other curses.
"Why..do this if you would free us too..?" The three-eyed one said in a tight voice, like tired and 'done'.
All of the curses also got back their control over their powers. They immediately floated up as they could now see too.
"Now you are done, dead body." The three-eyed one hissed and went back to revenging on the corpse, working on burning it down.
"Totally done!" The eight-eyed one and Mō Qīn said in union, anger with energy bursting in.
Lìngxiāo didn't wait another second to draw symbols and summon Serpent now, while his gaze fixed over the curse who left after Chóng Fēi.
"Finally I'm out!" Serpent said like a hopeless victory, ready to fight—though he moves around Lìngxiāo is always..questionable.
But Lìngxiāo had no time to breathe. He took his curse tool, spun it, and gave a hit like lightning from the sharp left to right side over the corpse, making it fly and fall over.
"Let's catch you like a dodgeball!" Serpent quickly floated over and caught the body tightly by her snake tail, choking it.
"You three—tear it into pieces until you find anything which was the element related to the gûi. I and Mō Qīn will take chase after them." Lìngxiāo ordered before running out of the old chamber, heading where they had gone.
Serpent pouted. "I wanted to go with you, darling!!"
The other curses just chuckled and pulled her into the order he had given.
"See ya later, man. Hope for an answer to this chaos." Mō Qīn said to his friends before following Lìngxiāo out.
"Of course. We all are sick of this chaos!" His friends said.
"Don't you fucking follow me!" Chóng Fēi hissed as he really moved like the Dancing Blade, his muscles seemed to remember their rhythm back again. He could handle the large sword and a child all at once, even while only twenty.
The curse chuckled high-pitched, dodging attacks like rope skipping—more like any show-off—and the blade barely damaged her in real.
But Chóng Fēi couldn't use his snake web while his hand was busy and that child was clinging tightly over him. Now moths were appearing every time she got stabbed, and then the moths repaired her back.
They were now at another tower's round rooftop which wasn't made of slides at two sides. Lìngxiāo spotted them from the same roof he had come from before.
The sky was heavy and dark again. Wind blowing a little faster than earlier.
'Perhaps he did not go back into the main prison cells for the other remaining children's safety. But I do not know if they are still present down there or had left.'
The thought took only a second before Mō Qīn also appeared, and they both escaped from one tower to another to move towards them.
"When I manage to bring the child back safely, the first thing you will do is take him and the others out of her reach." He instructed Mō Qīn.
Mō Qīn nodded. "Then I will go straight to the heir of Chóng and take the child away. The rest of the fight before I come back will be under your control."
"Deal." Lìngxiāo gave a firm nod at the mid-air before landing right over that roof, catching the attention of the curse.
"Oh, the siren has come too. I was just about to miss you~" She tilted her head to one side too much—again like that—without turning beside totally. Her one hand was gripping Chóng Fēi's sword and the other was simply on her narrow waist.
Lìngxiāo waited for a second before Mō Qīn took away the child as planned, leaving them alone at the tiny battlefield on the roof.
The child cried out harder until red. Perhaps by Mō Qīn's worm form.
"Why do all the children have to fear my damn body!?" Mō Qīn whined almost dramatically with his own deep annoyance and helplessness—just as that day with the children.
Somehow that sharp cry earned them a breathless moment to breathe. Chóng Fēi was panting hard and watching the child fading in the distance for somewhere safe.
Lìngxiāo also just stared while his mouth parted, in a tense, fighting position with the curse tool.
'The child..really does fear insects.'
'I just hope it would not be a serious phobia.'
And the curse was also watching the boy fade away as if he was her lost baby or something—but in a twisted way.
"I know I'm the prettiest insect! But you refused to come with me, boy!" She said to the child, grinning, chuckled as she then turned at Lìngxiāo. "I was waiting for you! See how I steal another soul right in front of your eyes~"
Lìngxiāo just gave her a silent burning glare and then again was about to draw symbols to just directly hold the curse in his mirror and end the chaos right here and now.
But again—his fingers always got jammed. He felt like his fingers were going to break if he forced more. It was stuck in one position. That specific mirror had rules: it needed the same owner's same alive hand to command it or it would not obey.
Anyone else couldn't easily steal it. But the moves could be stopped only if his fingers stopped—which was also not that easy.
His jaw tightened again. With a disturbed click of tongue, he put back his mirror.
"Why did you put it back, damn it!?" Chóng Fēi yelled in anxiousness, starting another round of trying to knot the curse, now using both his sword and the snake web.
