Chapter 118 - Chapter 22 – What Lies Ahead, Part2

Part 2 – Morning Like Nothing Changed

From the very next morning, the academy was alive with relentless training. Every student, from the newest beginners to the top-tier fighters, pushed themselves to their limits. Morning drills, sparring sessions, tactical exercises, and energy control practices filled every corner of the academy.

For nearly one to two months, the halls, courtyards, and training grounds echoed with the sounds of effort—shouts of determination, the clash of blades, and the hum of focused energy. Every student was preparing, sharpening their skills for the upcoming tournament, where only the strongest would rise.

Though we won't show every struggle or triumph, know this: each student grew, faced challenges, and prepared to step onto the stage that would test everything they had learned.

And now… the tournament was ready to begin.

Morning light slowly crept through the curtains, thin rays of sunlight stretching across the quiet house.

For a moment, everything was still.

Then the sound of gentle footsteps moved through the hallway.

Akari pushed the door to the triplets' room open slightly and peeked inside.

Haruto, Ayame, and Kaito were still asleep, their blankets half tangled from the night. The room was quiet except for slow breathing.

Akari folded her arms with a small smile.

"Wake up," she said softly. "You three have something important today, remember?"

Kaito groaned first, pulling the blanket over his head.

"Five more minutes…"

Ayame opened one eye, already more awake than the others. "You said that yesterday too."

Haruto slowly sat up, rubbing his eyes. The sunlight caught his face as he blinked toward the window.

For a second he looked distant, like his thoughts were somewhere else.

Then he shook it off and stood.

"Let's go," he said quietly.

Akari stepped aside as the three of them got ready. The usual morning noise soon filled the room—drawers opening, footsteps, and Kaito complaining about waking up too early.

A little while later, the smell of food drifted from the kitchen.

The table was already set.

Simple breakfast—rice, eggs, fruit, and tea—waited neatly on the plates.

Renjiro leaned back in his chair, arms crossed as he watched the triplets sit down.

"So," he said with a grin, "today's the big day."

Kaito immediately grabbed food. "Of course it is."

Ayame gave him a look. "Eat slower."

Kaito ignored her completely.

Haruto sat quietly for a moment before picking up his chopsticks. His expression was calm, but there was a faint seriousness in his eyes.

Akari noticed but said nothing.

Instead she placed another plate down.

"Eat well," she said gently. "You'll need the energy."

Kaito swallowed quickly. "Don't worry. We're winning."

Ayame sighed. "You haven't even fought yet."

Renjiro chuckled. "Confidence isn't a bad thing."

For a moment, the house felt peaceful again.

Just breakfast.

Just family.

But outside, the academy grounds were already preparing.

And soon, the tournament would begin.

Renjiro finished his tea and stood up, grabbing the keys from the table.

"Alright," he said, glancing at the triplets. "Finish up. I'll drop you at the academy."

Kaito immediately stood up. "Finally."

Ayame rolled her eyes but followed, while Haruto quietly picked up his bag.

A few minutes later, the three of them stepped out with Renjiro. The morning air was cool, the sun now fully rising over the village as students could already be seen moving toward the academy from different streets.

The drive was short.

Renjiro stopped the car near the academy gates and looked at the three of them.

"Don't overthink it," he said simply. "Just fight the way you trained."

Kaito grinned. "That's the plan."

Ayame nodded calmly.

Haruto gave a small nod before the three stepped out.

"Good luck," Renjiro added before driving away.

The triplets walked through the academy gates along with the growing crowd of students heading inside.

Their classroom was already lively when they entered.
